Job summary
We are looking for an Assistant Practice Manager who will work alongside the current Practice Manager and the Lead GP to provide leadership in delivering safe and effective patient care. They will share responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice, which will include Clinical Governance, HR and Business Administration as well as ensuring good communication between all members of the team. We are in search of a candidate with good leadership skills and a positive, can-do, hands-on attitude.
Main duties of the job
The role would suit someone who ideally has experience within a GP Practice and is looking to progress to the next stage of their professional career, or an experienced manager who feels they have the skills to transfer into the NHS.
It is a Surgery based role. Ideally 20-30 hours/week. Exact hours can be negotiated but a commitment to the practice and flexibility to attend meetings/ potentially cover administrative duties is essential as we are a small surgery.
About us
We are a small, highly regarded rural GP Practice serving approximately 4200 patients just south of Marlborough in Wiltshire. We are part of the East Kennet Primary Care Network, working closely with Ramsbury Surgery, Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership and The Old School Surgery in Great Bedwyn.
Burbage Surgery is a single-Partner Dispensing Practice with 5 GPs and 2 Practice Nurses. We are supported by an excellent dispensary, reception and administrative team, as well as PCN staff including Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physio, Health and Wellbeing Coach and Care Coordinators. We are a rural GP Surgery which is very much run in the traditional general practice model. We put the patients at the centre of everything we do, and this is reflected in the recent GP Survey where we scored 99% patient satisfaction, the second-best score in the whole of Wiltshire.
