Job summary

The Clinical Healthcare Support Worker (CHCSW) is an integral member of the multidisciplinary maternity team, supporting midwives, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals in the delivery of safe, high-quality, compassionate care to women, babies, and their families on the Labour Ward.

The post holder will assist in providing direct patient care within their scope of practice, contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, and support the smooth day-to-day running of the ward.

The role includes assisting with clinical and non-clinical duties, preparing and cleaning clinical areas and equipment, maintaining infection prevention and control standards, replenishing stock and supplies, and providing practical and emotional support to women and their families throughout their maternity journey.

The post holder will work under the supervision and direction of registered midwives, ensuring that care is delivered with dignity, respect, and in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

• Support midwives and the multidisciplinary team in providing safe, high-quality care to women, babies, and their families throughout labour, birth, and the postnatal period.
• Assist with basic patient care, including hygiene needs, mobility, comfort measures, feeding, and observation of maternal and neonatal wellbeing.
• Undertake and record clinical observations, escalating any concerns promptly to the registered midwife.

• Monitor and replenish stocks of cleaning materials, PPE, and clinical supplies.
• Dispose of clinical and domestic waste safely and according to Trust procedures.
• Report any maintenance, environmental, or cleanliness concerns to the appropriate department.

• Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.

This includes both a busy 24/7 PPCI and PCI service and a well-established Cardiac MRI service. The successful candidate would join 7 Interventional Cardiology, 8 non-interventional Cardiology colleagues, an Associate Specialist, Staff Cardiologist and 3 Nurse Consultants in Cardiology across the Trust. There is a nurse-led in-patient heart failure service on both the Lincoln and Pilgrim hospital sites and good links to the community heart failure team.

The Complex Device service at ULHT started in October 2018 and we have performed over 150 implants in the last 12 months with one device consultant. The purpose of this post is to support this rapidly expanding service.

The East Midlands Acute Provider (EMAP) Network is a group of the seven acute (hospital) providers across the East Midlands who have come together to maximise the opportunity afforded through collaboration. Job summary

Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nurse/ Midwife, the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Rehabilitation Medicine service delivering specialist care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Based primarily within the Rehabilitation Unit at Lincoln County Hospital, the post holder will play a key role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals with complex rehabilitation needs.

The successful candidate will manage patients within the specialist rehabilitation unit and deliver outpatient clinics in areas such as Spasticity Management, Acquired Brain Injury, and Neurological Rehabilitation. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, they will assess referrals from across the Trust and contribute to the development of seamless rehabilitation pathways.

The role also includes undertaking community and home visits to support patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, promoting effective discharge planning and ongoing care.

In addition, the post holder will contribute to the education, supervision, and development of junior medical staff, while actively participating in clinical governance, audit, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
