Job summary
Working within a multi skilled team of Estates personnel, undertaking ofplanned maintenance to mechanical plant and equipment and carrying out general plumbing repairs to agreed response times for reactive works.
Ensuring that legislative compliance is adhered to at all times to ensure that the building is a safe environment for patients, staff and relatives.

Main duties of the job
To undertake the day to day planned preventive maintenance duties and repairs, checks and testing of the complete spectrum of services found in a Hospital building services environment
A multi skilled approach to a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled work across core trade skills and be able in providing a comprehensive service to out staff, patients & visitors attending Queens Hospital.
Undertake work in a safe and effective manner, complying with all relevant safety legislation and procedures and complying with the Trust Health and Safety Policy.
Participate as part of the On-Call team covering UHDB retained Estates
Cross site working required of UHDB retained estates for maintenance of Trust assets

Reporting into the Mechanical Estates Operations Manager the post-holder is responsible for providing leadership to the operational mechanical engineering team, the development of standardised practices and processes within their area of responsibility (trade group) and to support the delivery of modern maintenance services meeting compliant standards within a customer care focused environment

Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the general day to day operational functions of the Pharmacy Store, including a high quality and efficient pharmacy distribution and goods-in service.

Main duties of the job
- Participate in the topping up service towards departments at the Royal Derby Hospital and Florence Nightingale Community Hospital
- Participate in the ad-hoc supply of stock items to wards and departments
- Participate in the supply and distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments
- Participate in the receipt of all goods delivered to Pharmacy stores, involving checking goods received against delivery documents, recording batch numbers and expiry dates, and recording details on the pharmacy stock control system
- Ensuring products are stored in the correct areas
- Perform waste management & disposal of return medicines, which may include hazardous items
- Participate in stock checks
- Participate in customer focussed service, which will include dealing with Trust staff at the hatch or receipt area

Job summary
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for colleagues to train as a therapeutic radiographer at the Royal Derby Hospital.
The role of a therapeutic radiographer involves accurately localising, planning and delivering ionising radiation using state of the art technology. Therapeutic radiographers work in a multi-disciplinary team where they play a vital role in treating people with cancer.
The Radiotherapy department at Royal Derby Hospital is equipped with three Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, two of which use AlignRT for surface guided setups, a Varian Halcyon, HDR brachytherapy and a superficial unit. Pre-treatment equipment includes Philips Big Bore CT and Eclipse Treatment Planning system.
You will participate in a three-year BSc Radiotherapy Apprenticeship programme that combines face-to-face, work-based and online learning with some teaching at University of Hertfordshire.
The rest of the learning is based in the Radiotherapy department at the Royal Derby Hospital with extensive online interaction, requiring a combination of directed and independent studies alongside hands-on patient-facing clinical experience.
Main duties of the job
During the training period, you will have protected time to study relevant scientific and theoretical knowledge and skills; and through clinical patient-facing practice, you will develop the skills and expertise required to work in all areas of the Radiotherapy department.
You will be required to work a variety of shifts between the hours of 07:00 and 20:00 in order to achieve this and you may also be provided with the opportunity to attend other clinical areas as part of your off the job training to further complement your knowledge of the patient pathway.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals interested in providing a high standard of care to patients undergoing radiotherapy. The ability to work and communicate well with people is essential.
All course tuition fees and expenses associated with completion of the degree apprenticeship will be met by the Radiotherapy Department. During the 3-year training program, you will be paid NHS Band 5 Annex 21 pay scale.
Year 1 (65% of Band 5)
Year 2 (70% of Band 5)
Year 3 (75% of Band 5)
On successful completion of the training, you will gain a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and will have the ability to apply for a post as a registered therapeutic radiographer (NHS AFC Band 5 pay scale).

Main duties of the job
- To act as the point of contact for patients and medical staff on behalf of the consultant and the team ensuring that all queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner.
- Efficient management of the Consultants diary/rotas.
- VR voice recognition proof reading/some typing and despatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS medical patients within agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Ensure that urgent test results/correspondence is brought to the immediate attention of the Consultant or his/her team.
- Understanding of the 18-week RTT process and a knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy and an agreement to adhere to these policies according to National Trust Guidelines.
- Accurately informing patients/clinicians of outcomes and information to influence the effective service delivery for all patients including waiting list queries.
- Support management in the preparation and validation of the waiting lists and performance data in the team leader's absence.
- Liaise effectively with wards and departments within the hospital.
- To escalate any urgent problems to a senior manager.
- Provide secretarial support/cover for colleagues during absence.
- Undertake necessary training as and when required.

We are looking for an individual who is motivated, adaptable, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care within a busy and rewarding environment.Our Hand Day Case Unit consists of an 8-bedded Day Case Ward supporting three dedicated theatres and a recovery area, providing care for patients undergoing all aspects of hand surgery, including:
- Trauma and Orthopaedic Hand Surgery
- Microvascular Surgery
- Plastic and Reconstructive Hand Surgery
The successful candidate will primarily provide high-quality care in the second-stage recovery area following surgery. There will also be opportunities to develop skills and experience in the perioperative environment, including participation in first-stage recovery as required.
Previous experience of working in a day case setting is preferable but not essential. Must possess excellent communication skills.
Full support and training package provided for qualified staff.

All Locally Employed Doctors will be involved in providing a general clinical service to the Trust.
To provide clinical services to Derbyshire, East Staffordshire and surrounding areas, with colleagues and to be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of patients at the hospitals and clinics at which you have duties and the proper functioning of the department.
To provide continuing care and treatment of patients in your charge and personal performance of clinical duties as agreed and teaching of staff in training, and the multidisciplinary team.

The Emergency Planning Manager will be a key member of the Trust's specialist Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) team, supporting services across the organisation to strengthen resilience and maintain the continuity of patient care. Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Head of Emergency Planning in maintaining the trust's EPRR responsibilities and manage the day- to-day implementation and development of EPRR including business continuity plans, training, communication and exercising for the trust ensuring delivery of performance outcomes. Other projects may be assigned within the remit of the Head of Emergency Planning to ensure delivery of key aims and objectives.
Responsible for risk assessing, planning the development and implementation of all arrangements relating to integration and delivery of Business Continuity Plans, training and exercising programmes and communication compliance across all 5 hospital sites in support of the Head of Emergency Planning contributing to the trust'spreparedness, resilience and ability to respond to and recover from incidents and emergencies as defined in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Job summary
The Specialist Medicine Therapy Team at the Royal Derby Hospital are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work within the team. You will work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other Support Workers, providing treatment to a variety of patients across several specialities including Respiratory, Cardiology, Endocrine and Diabetes, Renal, Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
You will be working under the supervision of qualified Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff, to undertake a variety of tasks assisting in the treatment of patients, which includes activities of daily living, mobility, and respiratory problems.
There will be a number of non-clinical duties, such as clerical or housekeeping tasks, which aids the efficient running of the department.
We are asking for an excellent communicator, team player, and to have a basic working knowledge of IT programmes.
Recent experience in a hospital or community setting, and moving and handling patients is essential.

Main duties of the job
To work under the supervision and direction of the qualified staff in the performance of specific tasks for an individual or group of patients, as part of their treatment and rehabilitation programmes. Such tasks may include; assisting the patients with functional activities of daily living, including dressing/undressing, domestic activities, supervising exercises, preparing patients for treatment, and assisting patients to increase their independence by using daily living aids.
To be able to recognise the need to refer back to the Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist, identifying contra-indications to treatment and signs of deterioration, and communicate with the Therapists accordingly.
To be able to communicate effectively with patients to gain informed consent to treatment. Assess patient's understanding of treatment proposals, and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
Must maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up to date treatment notes, in line with legal and departmental requirements for each patient.

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and supportive teams as a Senior Assistant Physiologist within the Cardio-Respiratory Department at Queen's Hospital Burton (QHB) and the Clinical Measurement Department at Royal Derby Hospital (RDH). This role is ideal for someone with extensive previous experience and a broad depth of practical skill and knowledge of a range of non-invasive Cardiac diagnostics investigations. Building on your training and competencies you will work to help the CRM physiologist team by providing support with home monitoring systems including analysis of implantable loop recorders and administration duties plus assisting with exercise tolerance testing, MUSE and HUTT testing. Services are primarily delivered from QHB & RDH and with additional clinics based at our Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) such as Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital. Job summary
You will support the Biomedical Scientists by performing a wide variety of laboratory tasks. Support requirements vary between departments which include the sorting, preparation, processing and handling of blood, urine, tissue and bodily fluids.
You should have an interest in science, be self-confident and motivated. You must possess a wide range of skills demonstrating good numeracy and literacy, a high standard of verbal and written English, keyboard data entry skills and attention to detail.
You will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whilst preparing samples and inputting data, therefore the ability to multi-task and work flexibly are essential. This role will require support of stores and deliveries during holiday, short staffing and sickness periods. This will involve manual handling of possible heavy goods.
Your shifts will be set within a shift system and there will be a requirement to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays on rotation with other team members. Plans for a 24/7 rota in under progress.
Please note this is a two stage interview process which includes an assessment session which if successful will lead to an interview on another set date.
NB HCPC portfolios CANNOT be supported in this area as there is insufficient exposure to the main Laboratory. There is NO automatic progression in this role. Please make sure you have read and understood the job requirement before applying.

Do you have an interest in working in specialist dietetics?
This role offers the opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our supportive inclusive dietetic department. The post will be based at Royal Derby Hospital. You will be an integral part of our flexible and friendly team supported by our experienced specialist dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners.
You will complete 9 month rotations across three specialist areas , gaining experience in acute nutrition support, upper and lower GI surgery, and gastroenterology/hepatology. Your first rotation will be in one of the following specialist areas:
- Acute Nutritional support - predominantly enteral feeding including stroke, surgical step down and critical care.
- Upper and lower GI surgical - cancer and non-cancer surgery across inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.
- Gastroenterology and Hepatology- luminal and hepatology patients across inpatient services and outpatient care.
You should have experience of acute adult dietetics, ideally with relevant experience in one or more of the rotation specialities.
We are recruiting to two roles: one permanent position and one six-month fixed-term position, providing cover for an internal secondment.
Main duties of the job
You'll manage your own caseload while working alongside experienced specialist dietitians. Each rotation offers the opportunity the develop specialist clinical skills, contribute to service improvement, and receive regular clinical supervision and professional development.
You will become an integral member of multidisciplinary teams, working alongside consultants, specialist nurses, pharmacists and other allied health professionals to deliver evidence-based nutritional care.
We have an established training programme for student dietitians and apprenticeships with Coventry, Nottingham and Sheffield universities. The role will include delivering regular student supervision and training.

Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the general day to day operational functions of the Pharmacy Store, including a high quality and efficient pharmacy distribution and goods-in service.

Main duties of the job
- Participate in the topping up service towards departments at the Royal Derby Hospital and Florence Nightingale Community Hospital
- Participate in the ad-hoc supply of stock items to wards and departments
- Participate in the supply and distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments
- Participate in the receipt of all goods delivered to Pharmacy stores, involving checking goods received against delivery documents, recording batch numbers and expiry dates, and recording details on the pharmacy stock control system
- Ensuring products are stored in the correct areas
- Perform waste management & disposal of return medicines, which may include hazardous items
- Participate in stock checks

Job summary
The adult Audiology department at Royal Derby Hospital are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Audiologists to work within our friendly, busy Audiology Department across a number of our Southern Derbyshire sites (mainly based in Derby).
We are a complex only service and therefore provide more opportunities to expand your knowledge and work with a more varied cohort of patients.
We are happy to consider applicants with less than 3 years post graduate experience and also anyone graduating over the Summer of 2026. Further training and experience can be provided to the right applicants to enable transition into a Band 6 role.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join our Team of Audiologists to provide acomprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology service for adults which will include working with patients with more complex audiological issues.
You will be involved in the initial assessment of patients referred from their GP, typically with asymmetrical hearing loss, unilateral or asymmetrical tinnitus and other associated symptoms. You will be required to determine appropriate treatment, refer for MRI scans where appropriate or refer onwards when required.
The department also works closely with our Team of ENT Consultants and Audiological Physician, particularly regarding services for patients with vestibular symptoms.
Involvement in Student training, audit and quality improvement is also likely.
You will be expected to work across a number of sites, so a willingness totravel/access to a motor vehicle is desirable.

Job summary
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Gynaecologist to join its supportive multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician with an interest in benign gynaecology, particularly pelvic pain and endometriosis, to help develop high-quality, patient-centred services and improve outcomes and experiences for women and families.

Main duties of the job
Provide high-quality consultant-led care for patients with benign gynaecological conditions, including pelvic pain and endometriosis.
Contribute to the assessment, treatment planning and ongoing management of patients across outpatient, inpatient and surgical pathways.
Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based and compassionate care
Support the development of specialist pathways and continuous improvement in access, outcomes and patient experience.
Participate in teaching, training, clinical governance, audit and quality-improvement activity.
Contribute to departmental leadership and the wider objectives of the Gynaecology service.

Job summary
The Derby Lymphovascular Medicine Service is seeking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic new team leader at our Kings Mill Hospital Clinic.
The service provides clinics in Derby, Long Eaton Health Centre (Nottingham) and Kings Mill Hospital (Mansfield). The successful applicant will be based at our Kings Mill Hospital site, however cross site cover may be required.
This is a multidisciplinary service and the new team leader can be a Registered Nurse, Podiatrist, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist. Our team currently consists of a Medical Team, Band 8 Advanced Nurse Practitioner with a Band 7 Team Leader, Band 6 Clinical Specialist Lymphoedema Therapists, Clinical Support Workers, and Administrators working in each of the clinics.
The clinics operate Monday to Friday. The service offers outpatient appointments to adults and children with lymphoedema of varying causes, including primary lymphoedema and secondary lymphoedema. The service also sees patients with vascular and lymphatic malformations, segmental overgrowth and lipoedema.
Previous experience in treating lymphoedema is essential. A good understanding of compression garments, indications of use and the ability to apply compression bandaging is also advantageous. Previous experience of leading a team is preferred.
Main duties of the job
The lymphoedema team leader provides the day to day leadership and management of the team. This includes providing expert opinion and support to other members in the team, managing the other clinical members of the team and undertaking your own clinical caseload.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and responsible for assessing patients, planning treatment, delivering care and evaluating treatment plans.
You will be required to deliver a range of lymphoedema treatments including multi-layer lymphoedema bandaging.
You will work with the senior leadership team to develop and deliver initiatives within the clinics. These include work on capacity and demand, hosiery utilisation, training and education, audit and patient outcomes.
