Job summary
Come and Join our amazing team in ED at RLI.
An opportunity has arisen for additional Clinical Support Workers to join the Emergency Department Team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and motivated individuals ideally with acute care experience but this is not essential as training and support will be provided.
We have developed and grown so much over the last few years we have introduced streaming and rapid assessment at the front door for a better patient experienced and journey which you will be involved it.
We also cover the Minor Injury treatment which is open 8am - 10pm.
A shift system is in operation.
This is a 6 months Fixed Term post.
Main duties of the job
Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and the Advanced Nurse Practitioners ( ANPs ) providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Registered Nurse.
Record patient information.
Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
Clinical observations
Minor injury treatments and plaster casts
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Job summary
The Occupational Health Nurse Specialist will provide a comprehensive, high-quality occupational health service to colleagues across University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust and external clients. Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will assess fitness for work, undertake management referral consultations, provide evidence-based occupational health advice, and support colleagues health, wellbeing and attendance at work.
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a wide range of occupational health services, including health surveillance, immunisations, pre-placement screening, health promotion and wellbeing initiatives. They will work collaboratively with managers, workforce, infection prevention and other stakeholders to support employees in maintaining health at work, facilitating rehabilitation and return to work, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards and best practice guidance.

Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist occupational health advice on fitness for work, sickness absence, rehabilitation and workplace wellbeing.
- Manage a caseload of employees with complex physical and mental health conditions.
- Undertake occupational health assessments and provide evidence-based management recommendations.
- Assess health conditions against the Equality Act 2010 and advise on reasonable workplace adjustments.
- Conduct pre-placement health assessments and advise on fitness for employment.
- Deliver health surveillance programmes and manage follow-up of abnormal findings.
- Plan and deliver immunisation and vaccination programmes.
- Provide advice on communicable diseases, infection risks and occupational exposures.
- Work collaboratively with managers, workforce, Infection Prevention and Control team, and external agencies.
- Contribute to occupational health policies, procedures, audits and service development.
- Support colleague wellbeing and health promotion initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in line with NMC and GDPR standards.
- Support SEQOHS accreditation and continuous quality improvement.
- Represent the Occupational Health Service at meetings and contribute to workforce health strategy.

Our JAG accredited Endoscopy service, based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, is looking to recruit a Band 5 Nurse to join our established, motivated and friendly team. Our Endoscopy services are predominantly nurse led, from admission to discharge. It is therefore essential that our Nursing team are able to demonstrate a high degree of autonomy.
We are a 7 day service and are open from 08:00am - 18:30pm.
Our nurses are trained to assist Surgeons, Gastroenterologists, and Nurse Endoscopists, in a range of specialised procedures. This is supported by a dedicated competency framework, complimented by online learning and guidance from our Endoscopy specific, practice educator team.
There are 4 roles on the department, in which you will be trained in each area as part of your role.
Main duties of the job
Endoscopy is a great environment to learn new skills, and further your career. Many of our Nurses stay within Gastroenterology and take up specialist roles in Inflammatory Bowel disease, as Nurses Endoscopists and Bowel Cancer Screening Nurses.
The successful applicants will possess excellent communication and documentation skills, should be able to work well within a team, and demonstrate a keen interest in Endoscopy. They will work in close partnership with colleagues to ensure that the unit is compliant with JAG requirements. They will be actively involved in audit and governance to maintain standards.

The diabetes service is cross bay and made up of teams of consultants, specialist nurses and dieticians.

Main duties of the job
This exciting opportunity is for a dedicated and motivated nurse to develop their skills and knowledge in Diabetes Nursing, working hours are predominately Monday to Friday but we may require some flexibility to meet the service need and occasional Bank Holiday working.
The role requires excellent communication skills as you will undertake complex nursing assessments and develop and deliver programmes of care with patients, families, carers and ward staff.
Diabetes Specialist Nurses work closely with patients, families and health professionals from all disciplinaries to prevent hospital admission, facilitate hospital discharge and promote independence through education and self management of diabetes.
The role requires you to support in delivering, nursing education and post graduate medicine education.

Main duties of the job
The Royal Lancaster Infirmary provides an active acute thrombolysis service (with thrombectomy provided at Royal Preston Hospital) and also makes use of the specialist Telestroke On-Call Service out of hours and at weekends. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will join the regional Telestroke On-Call rota.
The post supports continued development of the Stroke Service and you will work alongside existing Stroke Consultants, as well as a wider Care of the Elderly Team and General Medicine colleagues. You will also liaise with Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery and Vascular Surgery Teams, as well as Stroke Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Matrons, Ward Managers, Nurses, Therapists and Secretaries, to assist in providing excellent care to our patients at all stages of the patient's hospital journey. The hospital is a trust of 5 site bases with intensive care departments on 2 of its larger sites and theatres on 3 of the 5 sites. You will be based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with an expectation to cover Westmorland General Hospital as required. Royal Lancaster Infirmary is based within the Historic, University City of Lancaster, which contains many shops, restaurants, cinemas and theatres. Main duties of the job
The department runs a full shift pattern with prospective cover for annual leave and study leave. The post is 10-13PA per week depending on agreed job plans of which 1PA per week will be allocated SPA.
- You will join an established team of 25 Consultants with 16 Specialist and Specialty Doctors supporting all general services of the hospital including ICU, Obstetrics and Accident and Emergency department. Theatres include, Emergency lists, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic and trauma, General Surgery, ENT, Urology, and Max Fax.
- You will work with some supervision while in theatres, experience dependent.
- On-call shifts provide residential cover over a 2 tier rota for emergency work, in theatres, obstetrics and Intensive Care.

We are seeking a Consultant to join the current ENT team in the Trust. You will work Cross Bay with Furness General Hospital as the main site. You will be contracted for 10 sessions per week with the option to increase along with service needs. You will need to have a broad experience in general ENT. Any subspecialty interest in Otology is required and will be actively supported although on calls will need general ENT experience.

Main duties of the job
We provide a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services to a population of 350,000 based around Morecambe Bay. One of the largest employers in the area, we have approximately 6,000 staff working across five sites; Furness General Hospital (Barrow in Furness), Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital (Kendal) and Queen Victoria Centre (Morecambe). By joining us you will be part of a progressive team committed to diversity, excellence and achievement.
The ENT department has 5 consultants, 3 Associate specialists, 7 specialty ENT doctors and 2 junior doctors (CT1/2 at RLI, FY2 at FGH). We have two H&N Clinical Nurse Specialists, one Advanced Nurse Practitioner in post. There are specialized clinics such as a One stop Head & Neck clinic, Combined `Rhinology clinic, Paediatrics clinics, Voice and Vertigo clinic. There are regular audit meetings, radiology meetings and video link meetings for the regional Head & Neck Multi-Disciplinary Team. The weekend on call rota would be 1:5 and weekday 1:4.

We have facilities for Sialendoscopy, Balloon Sinuplasty, and Endoscopic ear surgery, Trans Nasal Oesophagoscopy, BAHA's and DCR's, navigation for endoscopic sinus surgery and nerve monitoring for parotid/ear/thyroid surgery. Our H&N network is with Royal Preston Hospital but we also have excellent ties with Manchester Royal Infirmary for Skull Base pathology and Rhinology related conditions. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our friendly and experienced Radiology Nursing Team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Our Radiology Day Care Unit supports a range of procedures including nephrostomies, ureteric stenting, biopsies, drainages and image-guided injections. Job summary
We are seeking a GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician with experience in aseptic services, technical services, or hospital pharmacy. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of aseptic preparation, medicines legislation, quality assurance, governance, and national aseptic standards.
The post holder will provide specialist technical support and leadership within Aseptic Services, promoting safe, efficient, and high-quality aseptic practice. They will contribute to the education, training, supervision, and competency assessment of pharmacy staff, supporting workforce development and maintaining high professional standards.
The role will support quality management systems, validation activities, governance processes, investigations, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), NHS guidance, and regulatory requirements. The post holder will also contribute to service development, continuous improvement, and workforce planning initiatives.
Working closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, quality assurance teams, and multidisciplinary colleagues, the successful candidate will help ensure the safe and timely delivery of aseptic products while maintaining patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist technical support to ensure the safe and timely preparation of aseptically prepared medicines in accordance with GMP, QA and Trust requirements.
- Undertake technical validation of aseptic worksheets, manufacturing documentation and associated records.
- Support and maintain the aseptic Quality Management System, including audits, risk assessments, deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
- Ensure compliance with MHRA requirements, medicines legislation, NHS guidance and local policies.
- Participate in validation, qualification and environmental monitoring activities.
- Provide leadership within the aseptic team and promote a culture of quality, patient safety and continuous improvement.
- Support the education, training, supervision and competency assessment of pharmacy staff working within Aseptic Services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the established Barrow Integrated Care Community (ICC) Clinical Team as a Band 5 Care Coordinator.
This role is ideal for an experienced health care professional who is passionate about delivering person-centred care and supporting people to remain independent within their own communities.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside Case Management, GPs, Community Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Social Care and VCFSE partners, you will coordinate care for patients with frailty, long-term conditions and complex needs. You will support assessments, develop personalised care plans, coordinate referrals, signpost to appropriate services and act as a key point of contact for patients and carers.
You will help improve patient outcomes through proactive care coordination, effective communication and collaborative working, contributing to the prevention of avoidable hospital admissions and supporting the delivery of high-quality integrated care.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Care Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering proactive, person-centred care across the Barrow ICC footprint. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate care for patients with frailty, long-term conditions and complex health and social care needs.
Working alongside Case Manager, Development Lead, ICC Clinical Team Leader, GPs and partner organisations, you will support the assessment of patient needs, coordinate personalised care and support plans, facilitate referrals, and signpost patients to appropriate health, social care and voluntary sector services.
You will act as a central point of contact for patients and carers, supporting them to navigate services, promoting independence and self-management, and helping to prevent avoidable hospital admissions through timely intervention and coordinated care.
The role includes managing referrals, coordinating appointments, supporting safe hospital discharges, maintaining accurate clinical records, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, escalating concerns appropriately and maintaining your clinical competencies through ongoing training, supervision and continuous professional development.
You will build effective relationships across health, social care and community services, ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time. Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills are essential, together with the ability to work independently and travel across Barrow.
