We are seeking a motivated and organised administrator to join our Dermatology team, providing high-quality support to consultants and the wider clinical team. The role is key to ensuring the smooth running of outpatient services, including managing appointments, coordinating patient pathways, and producing accurate clinical correspondence within Trust targets.You will be confident managing a busy workload, able to prioritise tasks, and communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, and external stakeholders. A professional, empathetic approach is essential, as the role involves regular contact with patients, some of whom may be distressed.This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and fast-paced team, contributing to the delivery of safe and efficient patient care.Core hours are Monday to Friday, covering 8:00am to 5:00pm. Main duties of the job
Provide administrative support to Consultants and the Dermatology team, ensuring work is completed within Trust targets. Manage outpatient and virtual clinic bookings, including scheduling, cancelling, and rebooking appointments in line with RTT guidance. Prepare and review clinic lists, resolving any gaps or clashes.Produce accurate clinical correspondence, including clinic letters, discharge summaries, prescriptions, and blood forms using Cerner. Process referrals via the E-Referral Service (ERS), ensuring patients are triaged and progressed appropriately.Support Patient Tracking List (PTL) validation and escalate delays. Act as a point of contact for patients, relatives, and staff, handling queries professionally and empathetically. Maintain records, manage inboxes, and undertake general administrative duties while supporting team working.

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to work with our Upper GI and Oncology Service at Watford General Hospital.
The successful applicant will be a source of clinical expertise for Dietetic colleagues and will take an active role in the training of student Dietitians and the supervision of junior staff.
This is a well-established post, with opportunities to further develop the service.

Main duties of the job
As an integral member of the Upper GI Oncology Multidisciplinary Team, working alongside Specialist Nurses and Consultants, there will be exciting opportunities to contribute to new developments across the division. The post will also provide dietetic input to acute oncology and surgical inpatients.
The post holder will join a team of 17 full and part-time Dietitians. The department is committed to providing a high-quality service, promoting evidence-based practice, audit and continuing professional development (CPD).
There are opportunities for training and development, alongside clinical supervision, regular journal clubs and study sessions.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Dietitian to join the Dietetic Department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, on a 12-months fixed-term basis.

Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to become a valuable member of the UK NEQAS General Haematology scientific team.
Under the direct supervision of the Scheme Service Manager, your role will involve ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and professional delivery of services within the UK NEQAS Haematology program.
You should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding and experience in clinical Hematology laboratory practices within the UK, encompassing an extensive knowledge of both the theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory Hematology.

The UK National External Quality Assessment Unit (UK NEQAS) are operated by West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and is based in a bespoke unit designed and built specifically for our use in the Croxley Business Park in Watford.

Main duties of the job
Line manages UK NEQAS Haematology scientific staff.
Working with a variety of blood products to assist in the preparation of survey material.
Supervising the :
- preparation and testing of survey material.

- entering and verification of participant generated data for analysis.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to provide senior scientific and operational leadership for our Morphology EQA portfolio.
UK NEQAS Haematology, operated by West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, provides external quality assessment (EQA) services to laboratories in the UK and worldwide from our purpose-built unit at Croxley Business Park, Watford.
You will lead services covering blood film morphology, parasitology, rapid diagnostic testing, haemosiderin and digital morphology, working with the Service Manager, Scheme Director and specialist advisors to develop and continually improve the service.
You will have extensive senior-level haematology experience, specialist microscopy and morphology expertise, and a strong understanding of EQA and quality management.
This is a full-time post, working 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday, although flexible working arrangements will be considered. Full details will be discussed at interview.
We are also recruiting to a separate Band 8a Automated Haematology EQA Lead Scientist post within UK NEQAS. Main duties of the job

Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join UK NEQAS Haematology as a Band 8a Automated Haematology EQA Lead Scientist.
The UK National External Quality Assessment Unit (UK NEQAS) is operated by West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and is based in a bespoke unit at Croxley Business Park in Watford.
The post holder will provide senior scientific and operational leadership for the automated counting EQA programmes, supporting their delivery, development and continual improvement.
You will require extensive senior-level laboratory haematology experience, with specialist knowledge of automated cell counting platforms, together with a strong understanding of EQA, performance assessment and laboratory quality management.
This is a full-time position. You will be required to work from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, although flexible working arrangements will be considered. Full details will be discussed at interview.
We are also recruiting to a separate Band 8a Morphology Lead EQA Scientist post within UK NEQAS. Main duties of the job
You will lead and coordinate the day-to-day operation of the automated counting EQA service, including programmes covering FBC, WBC differential, platelet counting, reticulocytes, ESR and infectious mononucleosis.
The role includes line management and staff development; analysis and interpretation of EQA data; investigation of complex participant queries; preparation and review of performance reports; validation of new parameters, methods, equipment and survey materials; and contribution to service development.
You will work with manufacturers and suppliers on technical issues and performance trends and contribute to Scientific Advisory Groups, specialist working groups and national/international activities.

Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic, full-time substantive consultant gastroenterologist with a subspeciality interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
You will join a team of fourteen gastroenterologists at West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust who enjoy working together and supporting each other.
You should be a competent clinician and endoscopist with a CCT in gastroenterology and general medicine and experience working within the NHS. To complement our team, you should demonstrate interest in managing complex Inflammatory Bowel Disease. We have a dynamic IBD team with five experienced IBD nurse specialists, regular MDT meetings and close links to our colorectal colleagues. We are seeking to expand our team to manage our demand, develop new treatment pathways and increase our research portfolio for the benefit of our patients.
This post has 10 programmed activities. There is a 1:14 on call rota for weekend and weekday put of hours gastroenterology cover and 1:7 rota for ward cover.
We are looking for the prospective candidate to start as soon as possible.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the smooth running, governance, and further development of the IBD service including:
- Independent care of patients with complex IBD
- Actively lead and contribute to IBD MDTs
- Support and training of the IBD nurses
- Foster close teamworking within the IBD team
- Developing IBD care pathways
- Support networking with internal and external providers
- Support IBD data collection/ audit and database
- Implement national policies and guidance and local GIRFT recommendations relating to IBD care

Job summary
The post holder will co-ordinate compliance work programmes on all Trust sites, working closely with specialties groups and Directorates in conjunction with the site, specialties and directorate management teams.
The post holder will be required to ensure the Trust achieves maximal compliance with regards to water quality/safety and be the lead with regard to water hygiene on behalf of the Trust.
They will be responsible for the delivery and verification of compliance with relevant legislation, ACoP's and standards across all WHHT sites and the production of supporting reports and statistics.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible for leading on activities in accordance with workload requirements including external reviews and accreditations such as the Care Quality Commission Standards, Monitor and peer reviews.
Manage and lead complex programmes to ensure delivery of major business critical, water hygiene and infrastructure projects, ensuring that where any gaps in compliance have been identified, there is a robust action/monitoring plan in place with escalation as appropriate.
Represent the Environment Division at regular and irregular internal forums, e.g. Water Safety Group, Infection Prevention and Control group etc. and lead on the provision of professional advice, opinion and analysis on the management of all water related operations.
Undertake the formal role of RP (Responsible Person) Water, including undertaking formal training and familiarisation of the Trusts systems.
Subsequent to a formal assessment by the Trusts AE Water the appointment of RP Water will be in writing.

We are recruiting for a Bone Densitometry (DEXA) Scanning Technician. This role is to provide specialised technical support in Bone Densitometry, involving a broad range of highly complex specialised technical work. The post holder will act as an operator for scanning under the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017.The service core hours run between 08:30-20:00 Monday - Friday with the possibility for weekend working. Main duties of the job
Perform Bone Density scan and procedures according to the relevant departmental protocols; this includes acquisition, analysis and presentation of Dexa images.
The software is specialised, including application software(e.g. Microsoft Office) and utility software (e.g. Radiology). Therefore, the post holder must be capable of learning to use this software. For example, spreadsheets in Excel, and proprietary software record updates like CRIS.
Provide an efficient patient focussed service and to ensure a close and good working relationship is developed with relevant team members and other hospital staff.
To obtain the optimum information from each individual patient investigation to facilitate speedy and accurate diagnosis of their clinical condition.
To be actively involved in the continual development of all aspects of the Bone Densitometry Service in liaison with the Dexa Lead and the Assistant Divisional Manager.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of strategic projects and transformation programmes across the organisation. The post holder will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through to implementation and benefits realisation, ensuring delivery to agreed objectives, timescales, budgets and quality standards.
Working closely with clinical, operational and corporate stakeholders, you will provide project leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and support the delivery of organisational priorities.
