The Trust is seeking a consultant forensic psychiatrist to join Broadmoor Hospital. The vacancy has arisen as the result of another consultant leaving. The successful applicant will be the Responsible Clinician for 15 patients on an increased support and assertive treatment (ISAT) ward. From time to time the specific attachments may be varied to meet the needs of the service, in discussion with the consultant.
The current consultant (RC) establishment at Broadmoor Hospital is 12 Whole Time Equivalents (WTEs). There are also two part-time (0.2 PA) Consultant Psychotherapists in post. A part time General Practitioner is also in post.
Main duties of the job
The Post Holder will be responsible for the care of 15 patients on an increased support and assertive treatment (ISAT) ward. Patients on the ISAT wards will generally require more intensive support and more likely to be displaying behavioural disturbance. The Post Holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, consisting of a ward manager, ward nursing staff, a clinical or forensic psychologist, a resident doctor, a social worker, a security liaison nurse and an occupational therapist. The Post Holder will be expected to provide leadership to the Clinical Team and co-ordination of the Care Plan in relation to each individual patient within the framework of the Care Programme Approach.
As part of the Clinical Team standards within the hospital, it is expected that the Post Holder will see his or her ISAT patients regularly, in addition to Clinical Team Meetings.
The Post Holder will be responsible for carrying out administrative duties in relation to the care of his/her patients including completion of reports to the First-Tier Tribunal (Mental Health), Annual Statutory Reports to the Ministry of Justice, and other statutory and non-statutory reports within the required timescales. Job summary
Are you interested in a role where every day is different and where you can use a variety of psychology skills? If so, we are looking for a caring and innovative clinical psychologist to join our team. There is a huge variety of work within this role and you may undertake neuro-psychological assessments which contribute to a diagnosis of dementia as well as provide a range of post-diagnostic therapeutic options. These include providing groups and individual therapy for people with dementia as well as for their carers. This includes supporting cares whose loved ones have behaviour that challenges the care giver. You will also work with patients who have co-existing mental health needs in addition to their cognitive difficulties. You will also provide consultation to help promote psychological thinking within the MDT and the wider system around the patient.
Main duties of the job
The London borough of Ealing is culturally highly diverse and there is a real commitment to meet the needs of the communities we serve. You will be based in the Ealing CIDS West team in Greenford and be involved in ensuring psychology provision is appropriate and accessible for our community. Our teams reflect the cultural diversity of our communities, and we are developing our outreach and co-production work.
Our all-age Cognitive Impairment and Dementia Service (CIDS) works alongside our Specialist Older Adult Mental Health Service (SOAMHS) which is a community service for people over 70 which works closely with our older adult in-patient service. So although your main role would be in CIDS, there would be opportunities to work with the other teams too. You will also supervise the Assistant Psychologist for the team and would be able to participate in research projects which are a feature of CIDS.

The post holder will apply a range of psychological models and deliver specialist perinatal psychology interventions, including developing and facilitating group programmes in community and virtual settings. Interventions will be tailored to the needs of women and their infants, taking account of varying levels of complexity, distress and illness.
Using a psychological and trauma-informed approach, the post holder will provide consultation and advice to colleagues and the wider professional network involved in maternity care across the North West London footprint, including West Middlesex, Chelsea and Westminster, St Mary's, Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea, and Hillingdon Hospitals.
The role requires autonomous practice within professional guidelines and service policies, alongside contribution to research, audit, service evaluation, policy development and improvement.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be working in a Specialist Outreach Psychosis Service within the Assertive Outreach Pathway, taking responsibility to assessing, planning and coordinating the care plan and treatment of a defined caseload of service users with complex needs related to psychotic illnesses who are difficult to engage.
The Specialist Outreach Psychosis Service is a multidisciplinary, community-based service responsible for providing on-going holistic assessments, treatment and support to clients with severe and enduring mental illness living in the community. The service will enable patients with severe mental health problems to be supported and cared for in the community in the least restrictive setting through an assertive, personalised and integrated approach to care and treatment.
The service will provide an intensive community-based mental health service delivered in service users' home environments, in the community and in supported living accommodation or other locations agreed with the service user utilising "A whole system approach" to recovery from mental ill health. The approach aims to maximise an individual's quality of life and address social inclusion by supporting engagement, encouraging their skills, promoting independence and autonomy in order to give them hope for the future which leads to successful community living through appropriate support.
