Job summary
We are delighted to invite candidates to apply to work with us in this dynamic and expanding ENT department in a beautiful area of Yorkshire.
The ENT department sits within the Head and Neck Directorate (ENT, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Plastic Surgery and Audiology) which sits within The Surgery Care Group. The department provides an ENT Service to York, the whole of North Yorkshire and parts of West Yorkshire.
ENT Surgeons currently work at York, Scarborough, Bridlington, Selby, Harrogate and Malton, with out-patient and day case surgery at the peripheral sites. In-patient activity is at the York site where there is a well-established, dedicated Head and Neck Ward. This post is based at York Hospital, with clinical commitments at Scarborough Hospital.
Individual job plans will be discussed with the post holder on appointment, with the Clinical Director to finalise the job plan which will become operational on commencement. All job plans are agreed in line with the Trusts Job Planning Principles. An on call commitment will be considered dependent on the candidate.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-thinking ENT surgeon to this post, who will work well within the team to continue to develop a number of leading regional services.
The department and Trust both offer a welcoming and dynamic working environment, with opportunities to participate in teaching medical students from the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). Research opportunities are encouraged.

Job summary
An exciting training opportunity has arisen for a Nurse who wants to develop their skills in the field of Sexual Health to work towards and become a Nurse Specialist in Sexual Health (Band 6).
Our successful candidate will have a keen interest in the area of Sexual Health and enthusiasm to learn.
This is usually a two-year training programme, however, a Nurse with previous Sexual Health and/or Contraception and/or HIV experience may not require the full two years.
The role is for up to full time hours of 37.5 per week, with a minimum of 30 hours. Our successful candidate will work cross site, between Harrogate, Catterick and Northallerton with Harrogate as a base.
You will also be expected to travel to and work in our services. Therefore, the ability to transport yourself across the locality during the normal working day is a requirement of this role.
The department supports a consultant led and nurse delivered approach to the delivery of services and care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder, once trained, will be responsible for:
- Autonomous management of total episodes of care for patients including patient assessment
- Independent examination
- STI screening
- Supply of STI treatments
- Contraception-including LARC
- Undertaking their non-medical prescribing qualification

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join the Pharmacy Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance Teams at York Hospital.
Our teams play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of pharmacy services across the Trust. You will support a range of governance and quality assurance activities, including maintenance of the Quality Management System, document control, equipment monitoring, audit support, and regulatory compliance.
We are looking for an organised individual with excellent communication skills who can work independently and as part of a team. You should be proactive, adaptable and keen to develop both yourself and the service.
The post will be appointed at either Band 2 or Band 3 depending on qualifications and experience. Applicants must hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above and meet the essential criteria within the person specification. Candidates not already qualified will be required to work towards a Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services, including dispensing competencies.
Previous hospital pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. The post is based at York Hospital, with occasional travel to other Trust sites. Hours are Monday to Friday, 08:45 to 17:15, with participation in the weekend rota (1 in 8 weekends), bank holiday rota (approximately 1 per year) and regular dispensary duties.
Main duties of the job
You will help maintain safe and effective pharmacy services across the Trust, in line with legislation, professional standards and medicines management requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the Quality Management System, including document control, ensuring policies and procedures are reviewed, updated and approved in collaboration with authors and approvers.
- Monitoring equipment and assets to ensure validation, calibration and servicing requirements are met.
- Recording and monitoring departmental deviations and supporting the implementation of corrective actions.
- Assisting with medical gas cylinder audits and associated improvement actions.
- Supporting temperature monitoring and cold chain management, including responding to queries from multidisciplinary teams.
- Reporting product defects and following up any resulting actions.
- Assisting with the management of controlled prescription stationery, including prescription processing, reconciliation of accountability records and registration of Non-Medical Prescribers.
- Supporting the management of controlled drugs across the department and wider organisation.
- Participating in audits and supporting the implementation and monitoring of action plans.

Main duties of the job

Job summary
Hull York Medical School (HYMS) is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurse-Adult to join their well-established Clinical Skills Educators team.
The position involves working in a fast-paced environment, delivering clinical skills teaching and assessing medical students, under the guidance of the Lead Clinical Skills Educator.
This post is based in the HYMS Building, Postgraduate Centre, Scarborough Hospital where much of the teaching and assessment takes place. However, there will also be opportunities to work with the HYMS clinical skills team at York Hospital, offering a variety of settings for the successful candidate to contribute to the education and development of future medical professionals.
Candidates should have at least four years of post-registration experience in an acute clinical setting, and a recognised teaching qualification or equivalent experience. Proficiency in basic clinical procedures, including venepuncture, peripheral venous cannulation, and urethral catheterisation, is essential. A strong interest in teaching clinical skills and clinical simulation training is also imperative.
While proven experience in teaching clinical skills is preferable, the role is open to those who have a passion for education and professional development in this area.
To succeed in this role, candidates will need excellent communication skills, be highly organised, flexible, and creative in their approach to education.
Main duties of the job
- To work within the clinical skills facilities to develop, implement and deliver teaching of the clinical skills programmes to undergraduate medical students, with a primary responsibility for supporting HYMS students.
- To support students and tutors within clinical areas, liaising with clinical tutors, junior doctors and other health care professionals in the identification of patients suitable to use as the key resource for HYMS teaching.
- To supervise students clinical skills and assess competency through continual assessment of patients care requirements, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care across the Trust.
- To work with other Clinical Skills Tutors across the HYMS sites to develop a strategic approach to the teaching and assessing of Clinical Skills, including developing opportunities for multi-disciplinary training where appropriate.
- To work across organisational and professional boundaries and develop multi-professional clinically based teaching and assessment processes.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified registered occupational therapist, you will be responsible for delivering effective safe, quality, person-centred care in the acute setting . You would be part of a dedicated, knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team.
The role will allow the successful candidate to develop a broad range of skills and there are opportunities to work alongside experienced clinicians. The whole team are committed to on-going staff training, development and supervision. You will have access to a leadership team including Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead, Management Team and Professional Leadership Team.

The Radiology Department at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust employs a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff, to provide high quality, customer-focused and user-friendly Diagnostic Radiology Service.

Previous CT experience is essential and as part of the CT scanning team you will be expected to work a variety of shifts to provide a service, 24/7. York Hospital currently operates 2 Siemens CT scanners (Definition Edge and AS+),with the replacement of a third CT scanner, a Canon Aquilion One INSIGHT CTfor cardiac CT, in Autumn 2026. We also staff a mobile CT scanner (Siemens Go TOP) to perform lung cancer screening checks out in the community. The existing Siemens scanners will be replaced in Spring 2027 with 2 Siemens Xceed CT scanners.
We are a forward-thinking department committed to advanced practice currently undertaking extended roles, including vetting and reporting of CT head scans. We undertake a variety of CT examinations including Cardiac CT and colonography. The CT scanning team are supported to attend the Post Graduate Certificates in CT and Forensic Imaging, the National CT Colonography Academy and the Goodwood Cardiac CTA course.
Main duties of the job

1. Must have a degree in Diagnostic Radiography (or comparable higher education qualification in Diagnostic Radiography).2. Must be HCPC registered.3. Must have relevant prescribed clinical experience leading to qualification.4. Evidence of continuous professional development.5. Must have excellent communication skills, be calm under pressure and exhibit a caring attitude.

We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse within the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) at York Hospital.
The unit is part of our critical care services and is committed to providing post anaesthetic and surgical care from 11 specialist theatres with a patient group including both adults and paediatrics as well as initiating an acute pain service. Within your role you will form a crucial part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, delivering a high standard of healthcare to patients living within their own homes, facilitating short term rehabilitation, reablement and recovery in order to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and enable patients to recover following an acute hospital stay.
You will work closely with patients and their families, nursing and therapy colleagues within the team, and will build connections with health and social care partners across the local system. Taking a reablement approach the service supports people to return to, and / or, remain in their own home.
We are looking for candidates with the ability to motivate individuals, to aid their recovery and maximise independence in order to achieve the goals that matter to them.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake duties delegated by the Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams, and will be responsible for providing holistic, person centred, compassionate health care to patient's 18 years and over, supporting rehabilitation, reablement and recovery within the comfort of the patients home.
We provide a 7 day service, between the hours of 8am - 8pm; therefore successful candidates will take part in a rota that covers the hours of the service, however we do offer a flexible and varied shift pattern. Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and competent Nursing Associateto join our Specialist Nursing Bladder and Bowel Team.
Working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will deliver high-quality patient care with minimal direct supervision, supporting registered nurses. You will provide both general and specific care for patients, contribute to care planning, and refer to AHPs and other agencies as required. Main duties of the job
The Nursing Associate will function at a higher competency level than that of Health Care Support Workers and will actively participate as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing a seamless service to patients with minimal supervision from a Registered Practitioner.They will undertake triage, assessment and treatment plans for patients on the Continence Assessment and Treatment pathway.They will provide general and specific care for patients and will be competent to work with professional disciplines, referring patients for Allied Health Professional assessments and treatment and referring to other agencies as required.They will be required to play an integral role in the delivery of safe and high quality care, as delegated by the Registered Practitioner.They will contribute to the planning of care for patients and work in support of qualified nurses, doctors and allied health professionals.They will be expected to work independently, without direct supervision but will seek support and guidance as necessary from nursing, allied health professionals and medical staff.They will adhere at all times to defined pathways of care, competency frameworks and protocolsThey will be expected to provide supervision, teaching and assessment of junior staffThere is an expectation that the role will continue to develop, through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competencies, to be determined within the clinical teams, with a focus on patient and service needs.

The Rapid Assessment Therapy Service (RATS) are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and driven individual to join the team. This is a community post and you will work independently in patients' homes. It is essential that you the ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day. Travel expenses will be covered by expenses and parking at our community sites is free for clinical staff.We have nursing teams based in the following sites:
- North Hub - based at Haxby Health Centre
- Selby/South Hub based Selby Hospital, Tadcaster Health Centre or Sherburn in Elmet
- East Hub - Tang Hall Clinic
- West Hub - South Hambleton and North Ryedale
We require staff to cross cover for other teams and potentially travel to work from other sites.
We currently have positions available in the East Hub which would be the successful candidate's main base.

Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our specialist Paediatric Psychology Service. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate seeking valuable NHS experience before pursuing further professional training in Clinical Psychology or related professions.
Working under the supervision of qualified Clinical Psychologists, you will support children, young people and families affected by a range of physical health conditions. You will contribute to clinical work, service evaluation, audit, research and resource development as part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team.
This six-month fixed-term post has been developed through NHS England funding to increase access to psychology careers and provide paid clinical experience opportunities for aspiring clinical psychologists who may otherwise face barriers to entering the profession. Job summary
Are you a skilled, resourceful and dynamic Speech and Language Therapist, with experience of managing patients with complex dysphagia and communication impairments?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our existing Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team.
The Medical Adult Speech and Language Therapy team based at Scarborough Hospital is responsible for delivering care across aspects of the patient journey e.g. outpatients, community and inpatients.
You will be working with a varied caseload, including progressive neurology, frailty, dementia, respiratory, and other aetiologies. Work will be mixed across inpatient wards, community visits and our specialist outpatient clinic space.
The role will be based at Scarborough Hospital and will deliver input to patients in their own homes by providing assessment, differential diagnosis and management/therapy for communication and swallowing disorders. We have a weekly Speech and Language Therapy led Videofluoroscopy service.
Please Note: The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality and Trust sites during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY. Remote interviews will not be available.
Main duties of the job
Based in Scarborough Hospital, in this role you will:
- Hold a clinical workload across sites and settings, delivering highly specialist assessment, treatment and advice, working closely with patients and their carers and other professionals in Health and Social Care.
- Have responsibility for embedding best practice across the Speech & Language Therapy team by:
- supporting colleagues to develop their clinical skills and practice
- auditing the quality of care to people within this client group
- reviewing research and innovations in the clinical care of this client group
- Support the Team Manager and AHP Senior Operational Manager in monitoring and evaluating service capacity and delivery.
- You will also be part of our leadership team of Advanced Clinical Specialists, supporting and leading quality improvement projects that link with our team vision and objectives.
- Be committed to raising the profile of our team and profession, through supporting quality placements as part of student education and participation in local and regional professional networks.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Audiologist to join our team!
The successful candidate will:
- Provide audiological cover for ENT clinics, consisting of basic pure tone audiometry, tympanometry and speech audiometry as required.
- Provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to patients referred to the Department from GPs and the ENT Department, including provision of a full range of NHS digital hearing aids.
- Recommend more complex assessments (OAE, obscure auditory dysfunction testing, vestibular assessment, ERA and Tinnitus Assessments/rehabilitation) and perform these as trained appropriately.
- Take aural impressions for all age groups, working within national and departmental protocols and using own clinical judgement to ensure safe and competent practice.
- Participate in departmental audit, research and development.
Main duties of the job
- To develop and maintain personal skills and knowledge within the audiological field, maintaining up to date knowledge of procedural and professional developments and disseminating this information to the rest of the Audiological Team as required.
- To instruct and train other members of staff and locums as required.
- To assess patient need for hearing aids and select the most appropriate model in line with departmental protocols.
- To liaise with and refer to medical auditory implant, hearing therapy and local support services as necessary.
- To provide a comprehensive range of NHS digital hearing aids to patients based on this information.
- To assess the benefit derived from hearing aids, using subjective and objective measures, including informal methods, appropriate questionnaires and insertion gain measurements.

We have an exciting opportunity in our busy Operating Theatre Department at York Teaching Hospital, for enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals, as an Operating Department Orderly.
This is a role which will enhance our team and improve the service we can offer to our patients.
The successful candidates will be required to participate in the safe transfer of both patients and equipment, to and from theatres, and will be involved with the routine cleaning and maintenance of specialist theatre equipment to maintain the high standards required for this busy, patient focused environment. Job summary
As Consultant Vascular Surgeon, you will join a dynamic multidisciplinary vascular surgical team providing a comprehensive elective and emergency vascular service across York, Scarborough and the wider North Yorkshire area. You will provide inpatient and outpatient vascular assessment, deliver acute and elective open and endovascular intervention, and share 24/7 cover for acute and urgent vascular referrals as a core member of the vascular MDT.
Main duties of the job
To manage the day-to-day care of vascular inpatients at York Hospital.
To provide inpatient and outpatient vascular assessment at York Hospital and spoke sites.
To provide acute and elective operative intervention for patients requiring major vascular surgery.
To provide 24/7 cover for acute and urgent vascular referrals.
To provide elective support for complex surgery with the risk of vascular injury for other surgical specialities.
To be a core member of the vascular MDT.
To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.

All job plans are agreed in line with the Trust's job planning principles. All consultant Vascular Surgeons share hub and spoke work in an equitable manner.
