Job summary
At UHB, our people are at the centre of everything we do. The People Directorate plays a vital role in supporting the colleagues who care for our patients, making sure our staff feel supported, valued and able to give their best every day.
These HR Administrator opportunities offer a practical route into HR and wider people-related services. There are two roles available: one will provide administrative support to our HR teams across Solihull and Good Hope Hospital, and the other will support our Group Clinical and Corporate Services team. Together, these posts reflect both investment in a new role and recognition of the important contribution effective administration makes to our hospital teams.
Our HR administration teams help keep people processes organised, responsive and professional. In this role, you will support colleagues, managers and HR professionals with a wide range of administrative activity, helping the team deliver a timely and efficient service.
For someone interested in developing a career in HR, the role offers exposure to employee relations processes, hearing arrangements, case preparation and the day-to-day work that underpins effective people services. It may also provide a strong foundation for those looking to broaden their experience into wider operational or corporate roles, where organisation, confidentiality, communication and sound administrative judgement are highly valued.
Main duties of the job
Day to day, you'll help keep key HR processes moving. This will include preparing correspondence and HR case bundles, updating Trust systems, checking notes from fact-finding meetings, dealing with telephone and email enquiries, scanning and filing records, supporting diary management, and arranging meetings, formal HR panelhearings, training sessions and rotas
The quality of this work makes a real difference. Clear arrangements, accurate records and well-prepared documents help HR colleagues, managers and services move through sensitive processes with professionalism and confidence. You may also support practical office arrangements, including checking stationery and stock levels and placing purchase orders when needed
This is a role that places you right at the centre of our People teams. You will work closely with HR colleagues and have regular contact with Associate Directors of People, giving you insight into how decisions are supported, how services respond to operational pressures and how good administration helps turn conversations into clear action. Your views and experience will be listened to, because the person in this role often becomes a trusted point of contact- the person who knows where things are, what needs to happen next and how to keep people connected
If you are motivated by what you have read and you can see yourself in one of these opportunities, we'd love to hear from you
Closing date: 02 October 2026
Interviews will be held in person on 15 October 2026.
