We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit as a Team Leader. You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the nursing team on shift, whilst delivering high-quality care to patients and families during some of life's most important moments.
Main duties of the job
As IPU Sister/ Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the day to day running of the IPU. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated and compassionate team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who work within a wider multi-disciplinary team of staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality patient-centred care. This role will have 75% clinical and management and 25% audit, research and education.
About us
St Clare Hospice is a charity providing specialist palliative care to improve the lives of people affected by a life-limiting illness in West Essex and the borders of eastern Hertfordshire. Our care helps patients, their families, and carers, to make the most of every moment together, no matter how long they have left to live. We support them both at home and in the Hospice. Our Inpatient Unit (IPU) has eight single, en-suite rooms where we care for patients who have been admitted for symptom management and/or end of life care. The IPU team is part of a hospice-wide multidisciplinary team (MDT), clinical decisions are made by the MDT and everyone has a voice in the care of patients and their families.

Job responsibilities
Clinical To be a safe practitioner and work within the NMC Code of professional standards of practice and behaviour. Prioritise and delegate work fairly and appropriately according to skill mix within the team. Provide holistic assessment of patients and families care needs, plan interventions as required and ensure those interventions are actioned and their effectiveness evaluated. Act as a role model at all times and contribute to the provision of high quality, specialist nursing care. Provide support and advice to nursing staff on patient care. Communicate effectively with patients and families, ensuring they are actively involved with their own care planning. Support patients and families through grief and loss and the life changing consequences of a palliative diagnosis. Liaise with appropriate members of the multi-professional team (internal and external to the organisation) in order to ensure co-ordination and continuity of care on discharge and a smooth transition between different care settings. Maintain clear, accurate, legible and timely patient documentation. Work across the 24-hour service, including weekends, nights and bank holidays as required. Actively contribute to MDT decision making about admissions and discharges. Leadership Provide effective managerial and clinical leadership of IPU staff in conjunction with or in the absence of the IPU Manager. Represent the IPU at internal and external meetings as required. In conjunction with the IPU Manager, develop and implement the IPU induction programmes, preceptorship and clinical supervision. In conjunction with the IPU Manager, responsible for monthly 1:1 development meetings for IPU staff & completion of Annual performance reviews. Assist in setting learning objectives and provide annual appraisals and quarterly reviews. Lead by example and promote a positive values-based culture (Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork) Assist in the development and review of hospice policies and procedures Ensure that nursing staff are aware of, and apply, Hospice policies and procedures. Oversee the compilation of duty rotas ensuring adequate staff cover for shifts Ensure the effective use of resources. Participate in recruitment and selection of nursing staff. Education To lead the orientation, induction and completion of competencies for yourself and other members of the IPU team as directed. Support IPU staff to identify learning needs and the most appropriate means of meeting those needs. Organise and support placement of student nurses, liaising directly with the University as required. Organise training for the IPU team, this may include delivering training session or arranging for others to do so. Main duties of the job
As a Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in delivering a safe, high-quality, and patient-focused ward-based pharmaceutical service at the Denmark Hill (DH) site.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure patients receive safe, effective, and timely medicines support throughout their care journey, contributing directly to improved patient outcomes and patient safety.
You will support the delivery and development of ward-based medicines management services across a range of clinical specialties on a rotational basis. Responsibilities include medicines reconciliation, assessing patients' own medicines, transcribing medicines, counselling patients, supporting medicine returns, and coordinating discharge medicines, including dispensing TTAs on wards and in dispensary.
You will also support the induction and training of pharmacy staff , while gaining valuable leadership experience through line management of a Pharmacy Support Worker.
The role includes supporting dispensary services, including dispensing activities and accuracy checking. We are looking for a registered Pharmacy Technician who has achieved, or is working towards, the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification and is passionate about delivering excellent patient care in a dynamic team environment.

The post holder will : Act as first point of contact for telephone calls from members of public, staff from the health board and other agencies including Local Authority, Police, Education along with families/carers.
Provide and receive contentious and sensitive information of a personal, financial and political nature which requires tact, diplomacy and adherence to the strictest confidentiality.
Use judgement to respond to routine queries, referring more complex and urgent issues to senior staff, or their Deputy in their absence.
Provide the team with support in respect of administration duties to enable the smooth running of the administration function for the Safeguarding & Public Protection service.
Manage own day to day workload, exercising judgement to determine priorities and make adjustments and changes to workload according to accommodate urgent requests. Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high quality, compassionate care for children and young people within Bursledon House. The Band 5 nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating evidence-based care while ensuring the safety, dignity and well-being of patients and their families. The post holder contributes to excellent patient outcomes, supports continuous service improvement and upholds the Trust's values and standards. The role reports to the ward leader and works closely with the wider MDT to provide safe, effective and person-centred care.

The Division of Surgery, Anaesthetics & Critical Care is an integral part of Sherwood Forest Hospitals. We comprise specialist wards across a range of surgical disciplines including colorectal, general surgery, trauma orthopaedics, elective orthopaedics, day case, adult critical care and theatres. Ward 11 will be part of our trauma unit, admitting patients with acute injuries that regularly require surgical input. This fast-paced and dynamic environment will focus on delivering high-quality care to patients both pre- and post-operatively.
