Lead outstanding specialist mental health and learning disability services
We are looking for an experienced and values-driven Hospital Manager / Hospital Director to lead Cygnet Hospital Colchester.
This is an exciting senior healthcare leadership opportunity for an accomplished hospital leader who is passionate about delivering safe, compassionate and person-centered care.
You will have overall accountability for the operational and clinical performance of the hospital, providing clear direction to multidisciplinary, clinical and support teams.

Its acute, rehabilitation and learning disability or autism services are rated Good.
Cygnet Hospital Colchester is a 59-bed specialist service supporting men with mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism. Its five services provide acute care, high-support inpatient rehabilitation, highly specialised autism support and intensive support for individuals with learning disabilities or autism.

The opportunity...Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management and strategic direction of the hospital.
You will provide visible, effective and compassionate leadership, ensuring that clinical quality, regulatory compliance, workforce performance, financial management and service development remain at the heart of everything we do.
This is a broad and influential leadership position with accountability across:
- Clinical quality and patient safety
- Hospital operations and service performance
- CQC compliance and clinical governance
- Risk assessment and risk management
- Safeguarding and Mental Health Act compliance
- Workforce planning, recruitment and retention
- Staff supervision, appraisal and development
- Budgetary control and financial performance
- Health and safety, estates and environmental standards
- Commissioner relationships, contracts and KPIs
- Service development, occupancy and external reputation
You will be a credible and experienced healthcare leader with the confidence to manage a complex specialist hospital and inspire high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
You will have:
- At least two years significant management or leadership experience within a similar healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of hospital operations, clinical governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- A good understanding of the Mental Health Act and relevant national care standards.
- Experience of leading services for people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism or behaviours that may challenge.
- Proven experience of managing budgets, staffing levels, resources and financial performance.
- The ability to translate policies and procedures into safe, consistent practice.
- Experience of auditing services, identifying improvement opportunities and leading sustainable change.
- Strong people-management skills, including objective setting, coaching, performance management and team development.
- The ability to build positive relationships with service users, families, commissioners, regulators and external agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce professional reports.
- The ability to delegate effectively, prioritise competing demands and remain composed under pressure.
- The flexibility to participate in an on-call rota where required.
- A full UK driving licence or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role.
- A relevant degree, formal management qualification or current professional nursing registration would be advantageous but is not essential.

Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated static B6 Physiotherapist to join our supportive, dynamic Crisis Response Team in Trafford.
The Crisis Team is part of South Manchester Community Response Service which also includes Discharge to Assess and Community IV team. This is an exciting time to be part of our integrated multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team providing specialist rapid assessment and interventions to our local population. Our progressive working environment manages crisis on a daily basis, providing a 7-day, extended hours, urgent and timely response to referrals from community and acute colleagues, and directly from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). As a member of the Crisis Response Team you will work closely with highly trained advanced clinical practitioners as well as the wider MDT, supporting service users to be treated in the community.
Rapid assessment and community intervention from Crisis Response helps to support adults for up to 48 hours with health or social care needs at home, and preventing unnecessary A&E attendances. Your clinical skillset will contribute to people being able to remain safely and supported in their own homes.

Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacist to provide professional and operational leadership to our expanding Pharmacy Technical Services team.
Pharmacy Technical Services is a dynamic and evolving area of practice, that plays a vital role in the safe preparation and supply of complex medicines to patients. Our team prepares and supplies systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) to patients across all four hospital sites within the Health Board and delivers a growing clinical trials service, providing investigational medicinal products to each site. We are currently progressing the development of a new Pharmacy Aseptic Unit, due to become operational later this year, which will further enhance the capacity, resilience and capability of the service.
The post holder will provide operational management of the Pharmacy Technical Services team, ensuring the safe, effective and timely delivery of SACT and clinical trials, while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulatory and quality standards.

Main duties of the job
- Act as the Accountable Pharmacist for the Aseptic Unit, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, quality and governance requirements.
- Oversee the operational delivery of Pharmacy Technical Services, managing workload, staffing and service priorities to ensure the safe and timely delivery of aseptic products and clinical trial activities.
- Lead and develop the Pharmacy Technical Services workforce, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and professional development.

Job summary
We are looking for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to deliver communication support to children across community clinics in the Southend/Castlepoint & Rochford area.
This fulltime time, permanent role would be applicable to an established Band 5 SLT looking to progress into a Band 6 community clinic role. Alternatively the role would be applicable to an established Band 6 SLT who is interested working within the EPUT Children's SLT service delivery.
This role would require the successful candidate to have been signed off their RCSLT NQP competencies for at least 2 years.
The service adopted a Link SLT model with local mainstream schools which algins to the Balanced System transformation across the whole of Essex, Thurrock and Southend in September 2024. This has been very successful and the successful post holder will have a small number of link schools alloctaed linked to the geographical area of their community clinic bases
Main duties of the job
Must have completed and signed off Royal College of Speech & Language Therapist newly qualified therapist competencies for at least 2 years
To manage and deliver a specialist service to children (0 - 18) with speech, language and communication difficulties across community clinic bases
To provide supervision for more junior staff (band 5 or SLT assistants) as requested by the head of service
To develop skills to deliver face to face/video conference triage interventions as part of the service rota for triage appointments
Must have experience of working with children with speech/language delay/disorder and managing an independent caseload at a band 5 level for at least 24 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join the Older Adult Community Mental Health and Dementia Nursing Team.
You will work as a Nurse Practitioner within a multidisciplinary team, providing assessment, treatment, and support for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, including those undergoing assessment and diagnosis for dementia.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated paediatric research nurse to join our dynamic research nursing team. We are looking for a motivated individual with post qualification experience who is willing to learn and develop their skills in clinical research. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with an interest in clinical research and delivering clinical research in paediatrics and neonates, who can provide excellent clinical care to children of all ages and their families participating in research studies.
The role will involve assessing and managing care pathways for participants in research: including, recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants, providing support for research participants and their families and the accurate collection and documentation of data. ROLE SUMMARY
The Assertive Outreach Team/Pathway will deliver effective care to service-users in North East Essex who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems, often leading to multiple and complex needs and who may be difficult to engage. Care and support will be offered in line with the CPA approach and delivered in service user's homes or other community settings.
The post-holder will support the process of undertaking co-produced, personalised care & support planning with service users where goals and interventions are based on each individual's strengths, assets and sense of what will make a more meaningful life for themselves. We are excited to advertise a Band 5 to Band 6 Development Occupational Therapist role within the Acute OT Team at Great Western Hospital.
The successful post holder will join a team of Occupational Therapists, Apprentices and Therapy Assistants working across Medical, Surgical and Respiratory wards, supporting patients, families and carers with discharge planning and facilitating safe transitions home from hospital.

Main duties of the job
Support the clinical delivery of Occupational Therapy on the Acute Wards by:
- Prioritising patients who require OT to support weekends discharges.
- Provide interventions inc. Assessing and providing equipment to enable and support on discharge.
- Providing Risk Assessments for care agencies for new equipment.
- Signposting and referring patients on to services to support follow up on discharge.
- Liaising with the MDT to support problem solving blocks to weekend discharges for example working with transport teams and our discharge support teams.
- Providing guidance and training to patients and their families and carers to promote independence to manage at home, following acute illness.

Robin Ward provides a positive nurse led working culture, with safe staffing levels (nursing ward ratios are on average 1 nurse to 2 patients) that enables you to do your job well, supporting your professional & academic development. With the support of the nursing infrastructure (which includes a dedicated nursing central venous access team, nursing chemotherapy team and a dedicated nursing educational team) you will be guided throughout.
Main duties of the job
o To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centered care to the children, young people and families.o Ability to promote family centered care and establish good relationships with children, young people and their families.o To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.o To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff following achievement of required competence.o To be familiar with and adopt the principles of the NHS Chief Nursing Officers vision for Compassion in Practice (NHS Commissioning Board Dec 2012).
