Job summary
Are you looking for your next step in dietetics? Do you have a good mixed dietetic background with experience in nutrition support? We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian to work as part of our HEN team. The job role is varied, including working as part of a multidisciplinary HEN team, supporting enterally fed patients in the community. You will also have your own general outpatient clinics, and help provide acute inpatient cover at our Winchester site. Being able to work both independently and being a team-player is essential for this role.
We are a friendly team of over 20 dietitians, 2 nutrition nurses, dietetic assistants and excellent admin support across our 2 main sites. We support students from the University of Surrey and the University of Winchester on their placements, and there are opportunities to become involved in training other healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the job
This band 6 clinical specialist dietitian works as an autonomous practitioner with a caseload of complex patients within a team structure. Working closely with multidisciplinary professionals and patients and their families / carers to empower and support patients at home with enteral feeding, this role requires excellent communication skills.
Regular general outpatient clinics, and regular acute inpatient work at Winchester Hospital
About us
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.
We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.

Specialist Educational Psychologist Role (Mental Health Support Teams)
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust View all jobs
Posted 19 day(s) ago
Reference: 2345161
Job summary
This is a NHS role, within Mindworks led by Surrey and Borders NHS trust. It demonstrates the significant contribution Educational Psychologists (EP) can make (particularly with knowledge and skills regarding social, emotional and mental health, school systems, and consultation) in promoting child and young person emotional wellbeing and mental health.
We are a small group of EPs, linked to Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), and embedded within a School Based Need (SBN) service. We work jointly with a range of Children and Young People Services - Mental Health professionals (e.g. clinical psychologists, play therapists, CBT practitioners) in pursuit of a shared goal around CYP thriving. Our particular focus is around 'Whole School Approaches,' which involves work with school leaders on different areas of school functioning (as set out in Public Health England's Whole School Approach Framework, for example).
Our team's overall ethos is captured by a focus on outcomes (not outputs), approaches (not just activities), and the idea that if a young person is not thriving we should intervene in their environment first before looking within the individual. Our EPs get monthly supervision, and we meet half termly for a CPD focussed 'together day' (last day we looked at shared psychological frameworks and a neighbouring service facilitated a PATH for us; for our next day we're receiving training from a systemic practitioner on group dynamics relevant to school leadership teams).
Main duties of the job
Innovative work that is preventative, multi-systemic, and at the intersection of health and education.
As a specialist EP you will deliver on three types of work: (1) with schools, (2) within linked MHSTs, and (3) on whole Surrey programmes.
In your school work you will facilitate systemic change by workingwithschool leaders, and in partnership with a range of health and education colleagues. We use a consultation approach and the application of a range of psychological frameworks to understand the needs of, and affect change within, a system. You will build a shared understanding of whole school need, plan and at times deliver activities (inc. training, staff groups), and support the implementation of new practices. This is all in collaboration with health and education colleagues, in pursuit of a shared goal around improving the lived experience of everyone in a school community.
In addition to this work with schools, we provide support to Mental Health Support Teams and their varied mental health professionals. This includes consultation, joint work, training, and contribution to multi- professional meetings. This role comes with the opportunity to work with our MHST which supports Surrey Specialist Schools.
EPs working within Mindworks also collaborate with Local Authority partners on whole county training and implementation (e.g. Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed Schools), Senior Mental Health Lead supervision, and Team Around the School work.
About us
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of mental health, learning disability, neurodevelopmental and drug and alcohol services in Surrey and North East Hampshire. We support people of all ages and are passionate about providing high quality care that is delivered at the right time as close to home as possible to help people recover and stay well.

Please note that we reserve the right to close posts as soon as sufficient applications are received.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the role.
We look forward to receiving your application!

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently while being supported by a dedicated team. In return, we'll invest in your development, offering learning opportunities, career progression and support to help you achieve your ambitions.
If you're caring, committed and want a role where you can truly make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Applicants must be ultrasound qualified (Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or Pg Diploma in Medical Ultrasound) with state registration and possess a full UK driving license and must have at least 1 years ultrasound practical experience in an established NHS Ultrasound department.
The candidate will be able to scan abdominal, gynaecology, obstetrics, small parts and DVT's. Musculo-skeletal qualification or additional vascular qualification would be an advantage.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
