Job description
Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities - Clinical Therapeutic Duties
- Conduct initial assessments, triage, and risk assessments for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, behavioural difficulties, or other common mental health concerns.
- Deliver low-intensity, evidence-based interventions (e.g., guided self-help, behavioural activation, graded exposure, worry management, parent-led approaches) on a 1:1 or group basis, in-person.
- Work core hours of approximately 1pm 9pm to ensure availability during peak youth club sessions, with flexibility on quieter admin-focused days.
- Work collaboratively with the data team to collect, submit, and ensure the accuracy of data for internal monitoring and external reporting requirements (e.g., to commissioners and funders).
- Monitor outcomes using routine outcome measures and adjust support accordingly.
- Provide psychoeducation and self-management strategies to young people and their parents/carers.
- Signpost or refer to specialist services (e.g., CAMHS) when more complex needs are identified.
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with Allkind policies and data protection requirements.
Integrated Youth Work Duties
- A core feature of this embedded role is flexibility. Working within a busy Youth Club means priorities can shift to meet the immediate and wider needs of the young people and the club. You will:

- Deliver or co-deliver non-clinical youth work sessions (e.g., well-being workshops, social skills groups, creative activities, sports, or holiday programmes) that promote positive mental health and community belonging.
- Support the Youth Club team with day-to-day operations when required (e.g., supervising activities, helping with admin, or contributing to a safe and welcoming environment).
- Work collaboratively with Youth Club staff, volunteers, and partner agencies to create a holistic, integrated offer for young people.
- Adapt your approach to respond to emerging needs for example, providing informal emotional support during club sessions or contributing to crisis de-escalation alongside colleagues.
- This blended approach ensures mental health support is normalised, accessible, and responsive rather than operating in isolation.
Note: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities. The post holder will be expected to be flexible and respond proactively to the evolving needs of St. Andrews Youth Club and Allkind Mental Health, including undertaking any other reasonable duties that may be required to support young people and the service.

- Engage and respond to personal development supervision to improve competencies and practice
- To disseminate research and service evaluation in appropriate formats through agreed channels
