Job summary
We are expanding our team and are looking for an experienced ANP/ACP or ex[erienced Practice Nurse to join us.
We are a busy GP training practice with 7700 patients, 3 partners and 6 salaried GPs.
This new role will be part of the Urgent Care team providing a same day urgent service for patients. This role will involve the assessment, diagnosis, treatment or referral of patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
We can offer:
- Support with training and development including prescribing qualification.
- Regular debriefs with GP
- Weekly GP meetings
- Clinical pharmacist supporting the team
- Ability to shape this new role
- Part of a small and supportive surgery
- Full time but part time considered for the right candidate
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Work with the on-call GP and other practitioners to provide an urgent care and visiting service

- Comply with respective code of professional conduct and within own scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for decisions and actions.

About us
Box Surgery is an established and respected 3 Partner Practice which explores and delivers comprehensive integrated healthcare. The practice is considered progressive and encourages people to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing, whilst treating those who become ill with care, compassion, empathy and skill.
As well as the main surgery, we have a small branch site at The Firs surgery in Colerne.
GP services under a private contract are delivered by the practice to patients at MOD Corsham.
The practice is a training practice for GP registrars and also teaches medical students, with two of the partners being GP trainers and GP appraisers. One of the partners was previously trained at this practice.
Whilst striving to maintain a small practice feel, Box Surgery is one of five GP practices working collaboratively within the Chippenham, Corsham and Box (CCB) PCN (Primary Care Network) to offer extended services to a patient list size of approx. 60,000.

Job summary
Box Surgery is a small and friendly team where everyone is valued and use of initiative is encouraged.We are looking for a minimum of 12 months maternity leave cover in our surgery reception team.
The ideal candidate must be able to efficiently work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of telephone work and be flexible to cover all shifts. Computer skills essential. Full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
The main duties will be being the first point of contact for patients when they enter the surgery. An ability to listen, understand and process their requests or issues will be the main focus, and whilst the specialist training will be given, an underlying ability in customer service, problem solving, and the application of initiative will be needed. You will need to become familiar with the electronic patient record system and the clinical processes within the surgery. There are experienced receptionists who will train and assist and there will always be support available.

Box is a small surgery for the area with around 8000 patients on our list. There are 32 members of staff led by 3 approachable and personable Partners who are supportive of all staff in the provision of primary care services. There is a strong team ethos amongst the staff and admin and clinical staff work well together and the spirit is such that staff turn over is relatively low and some staff have been with the practice for over 20 years. Staff training is a high priority and there are regular team meetings where issues can be discussed and changes to processes can be talked through.
