Location: Bridgwater Bay Primary Care Network (9 Practices) Contract: Fixed Term October to March (6 months) Hours: Flexible we welcome a range of working patterns
Help Us Strengthen Primary Care This Winter
We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient-centred GP to join our Primary Care Network (PCN) on a six-month fixed-term contract from October to March, helping us increase clinical capacity during the busy winter period.
This is a unique opportunity to work across our network of nine friendly GP practices, providing additional clinical support where it is needed most while enjoying a flexible role designed around both service need and work-life balance.
A Flexible Role Designed Around You
We recognise that one size does not fit all, so we are keen to develop a working pattern that suits the successful applicant(s). We are open to a variety of arrangements, including:
- Full-time or part-time hours.
- School-hour working or Traditional full-day sessions.
We know that working in 9 different practices may be challenging so we could have more than 1 GP sharing the role so each GP spending time in fewer practices. Or the GP spending blocks of time within individual practices to build familiarity and continuity before moving to another practice.
Our priority is to create a role that is manageable, enjoyable and sustainable.
About the Role
Working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams, you will:
- Deliver high-quality GP consultations.
- Support practices with increased winter demand a mix of routine and urgent appointments
- Build relationships with practice teams and patients.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from GPs who:
- Hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Are included on the NHS England GP Performers List.
- Have experience within Somerset
- Are adaptable and keen to experience different practice environments.
- Value high-quality patient care and teamwork.
What We Offer
- A genuinely flexible approach to working patterns.
- The opportunity to shape the role around your availability.
- A supportive network of experienced practice teams.
- Variety without excessive movement between practices.
- The chance to experience different practice settings while developing lasting professional relationships.
- A rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to primary care in Bridgwater Bay during the winter months.
If you're looking for a flexible GP role that offers variety, supportive colleagues and the opportunity to help practices meet increased winter demand, we want to hear from you.
For an informal discussion about the role and the different ways it could be structured, please get in touch.
