Butterwick Hospice is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse to lead Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in our Adult Inpatient Unit. Working alongside the Clinical Team Leader, you will help drive the day-to-day delivery of outstanding, person-centred palliative care, coordinating safe practice, developing your team and creating a positive, professional environment in which everyone can thrive.

Main duties of the job
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care under minimum supervision. This includes supervision of both qualified and support staff, and of student nurses during their allocation. As IPU provides twenty-four hour care a willingness to workdays and nights is preferred.
The Registered Nurse will work within the framework of the Multidisciplinary team providing a high standard of care for the patients and support for their relatives and to assist in the nursing team development by keeping abreast of change, involving evidence base and directives from government/organisational policies.

- Significant experience of leading clinical governance, service improvement, quality assurance and regulatory compliance within a regulated service.

- Strong understanding of palliative and end of life care standards, safeguarding, patient safety, risk management and quality improvement methodology.
