The successful applicant will have the opportunity to help develop a high-quality service in this busy district general hospital, delivering comprehensive Haemato-Oncology, General Haematology & Laboratory Haematology services.

The postholder will have the opportunity to contribute to the clinical leadership of these exciting developments.
This role will be delivered as whole-time equivalent amounting to 10 programmed activities per week, subject to job plan review. Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons, to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. The general Haematology workload includes providing full haematological support to all patients treated at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, GPs and the local Mental Health Trust (Oxleas). Traditionally the Haematologists have had good working links with the GPs and have provided a direct consultative service for interpretation of haematological tests and clinical problems. Anticoagulation services are partially moving into the community.
The post holder is expected to take an equal share in the delivery inpatient haematology services including Level 2B, laboratory haematology workload including blood film, bone marrow and Transfusion Management.
