Main duties of the job

You will provide a clinical service of specialist psychology assessments and interventions to a number of adult service users with acute mental health needs on the ward. You will also provide a specialist clinical perspective in relation to other service users with whom you might not be directly involved. Potters Bar uses a formulation driven and trauma informed model of care. Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training. As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service users caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support registered Theatre Practitioners within the peri-operative environment performing duties within theatres/recovery, assisting with patient care.

The Senior Theatre Support Worker is a technical role that assumes a number of responsibilities such as, but not limited to: ensuring theatres and equipment/devices/sets are clean and ready for patient surgeries, assisting with safe and correct placement of patients pre/post-surgery, circulating within theatres during surgery and also responsibility for providing personal and clinical care where necessary.

Inputting data into electronic care plans including recording of implant details for traceability, carrying out surgical swab counts with the scrub nurse. Undertaking clinical observations and other interventions as delegated by registered practitioners.

The Senior Theatre Support Assistant will ensure their practice is guided by standard operating procedures and established policies/guidelines. They will demonstrate self-directed development, recognising own limitations, and work within the scope of their role at all times

The trust has also a daytime (9am - 5pm) Section 136 rota, with an approximate frequency of one day every three months.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to adults with mental health needs who are registered with a GP Practice located in the eastern part of the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham (plus a small number of patients who reside in that part of the Borough but whose GP is elsewhere). Ashworth is a specialist psychiatric hospital providing assessment, treatment and care in conditions of high security for men aged 18 and above and its catchment area covers the Midlands, North Wales and the North West. Ashworth is one of only three high secure psychiatric hospitals in England and Wales. Working collaboratively with service users, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), we develop personalised care plans that promote recovery, maximise independence, and support progression through services in the most appropriate and least restrictive way. Our Speech and Language Therapy service delivers comprehensive assessment and a wide range of evidence-based individual and group interventions tailored to the holistic needs of the population we serve. Care is underpinned by the principles of trauma-informed and recovery-focused practice. All interventions are individualised and supported by robust risk assessment and management processes.

Whilst we are recruiting into a Band 6 position, applications would also be welcomed from those currently working in Band 5 positions.

Main duties of the job

To provide evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to service users who have communication and/or eating and drinking difficulties within the high secure hospital. The role will be integrated within the multi -disciplinary team and will work with the team to develop person-centred care plans.

Clinically, the successful candidate will be expected to:

• Provide direct intervention to enhance communication to empower service users to actively participate in their care and treatment.
• Support the development of independence, and life skills.
• Reduce both offending-related risk linking to communication difficulties; and physical risk due to dysphagia.
• Support the wider team in providing a collaborative and accessible communication environment.
• Advocate for and implement reasonable adjustments that enable each individual to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced Speech and Language Therapy team to continue to develop the service. Supervision will be provided by a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.

Whilst the team support individuals with dysphagia, post-graduate dysphagia training and competencies are not essential for this fixed term position.

University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) provides tertiary services for over 1 million people in Warwickshire and the surrounding region. An excellent MDT supports the Upper GI cancer service. The department of Gastroenterology undertakes EUS, RFA and EMR. Wythenshawe Hospital part of Manchester Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint committed and compassionate radiographers to join our CT Team.

The workload is varied and we do many complex scanning procedures, the department has three CT scanners covering all aspects of CT scanning. We intend to increase our interventional service and provide an increased capacity for scanning and supporting lung cancer patients with the introduction of a dedicated Lung Cancer scanning unit.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

• Intermediate (Level 2) Typing/Word processing qualification and/or relevant demonstrable experience e.g. 12 months experience.
• Good general level of education up to Level 1 standard in English Language and Maths.

Desirable

• NVQ 2 in Customer Service
• NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.
• Working towards Level 2 standard in Maths and English.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Able to input data accurately and efficiently.
• Undertake repetitive tasks whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, face-to-face and non-facing customers.
• Demonstrates good customer care skills at all times.
• Good working knowledge of office procedures.
• Good organisational and planning skills using own initiative.

• Knowledge of working in an NHS environment.
• Ability to maintain and update patient information database(s).
