Job summary
This is a customer service receptionist role working alongside our friendly practice team. We are a Scunthorpe based GP practice delivering essential general practice services to our patients in the Scunthorpe locality. We have a main surgery site on Ashby Road Scunthorpe and Branch Surgery in the Ironstone Centre West Street Scunthorpe so the position will be across both sites.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a part-time Receptionist to join our friendly team who will be required to provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. To receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Vacancy is for 20 hours per week (Shifts:Mon 08.00-13.00, Tues 13.30-18.45; Thurs 13.30-18.45; Fri 13.00-17.30)Plus holiday/sickness cover.
About us
We are a friendly GP practice based in Scunthorpe delivering primary care services to approximately 10,000 patients. Our Main Surgery site is situated on Ashby Road, Scunthorpe (with a Branch Surgery in the Ironstone Centre on West Street, Scunthorpe). Our patients can attend either site for their medical care. We are also a Training Practice, which means we are responsible for the training of qualified doctors who wish to become General Practitioners. Cedar Medical Practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. Our practice team are friendly and welcoming, maintain a professional and efficient work ethic and we all work effectively together as a team.

Administration To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures. To work in accordance of written protocols Filing post in medical records as appropriate Photocopy as requested Complete necessary forms for New Patients/Temporary Residents/Immediate and necessary patients as per practice policy Amalgamate and put in chronological order paper medical records received via Health Authority for new patients in preparation for summarising Open and distribute mail as per practice protocol Reception Open premises and unlock all rooms, checking heating and restoring telephone service at appropriate time Answering/diverting telephones using practice protocols and procedures Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address. Job summary
We are a Scunthorpe based GP Surgery looking for a new Salaried GP to join an established clinical team within our friendly practice team, who will be required to deliver high-quality patient centered GP primary care services.
The successful candidate should have experience in chronic disease management, along with knowledge in clinical QOF/IIF requirements; demonstrate sound professional knowledge of IT with leadership, communication and training skills.
We offer a comprehensive financial/employment package in line with BMA guidance - including NHS Pension, 4 or 5 sessions per week, paid CPD, payment of indemnity, 7 weeks leave (inc. 1 week CPD) pro-rata with a view to starting the role in Autumn 2026. We are prepared to wait for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the post is to treat and manage clinical needs in the care of patients to include treatment in all aspects of primary care medicine, chronic disease management, preventative care, screening and patient education; and candidates should have the relevant professional medical qualifications, skills and training to provide a professional and effective patient focused service.

We are a GMS practice with an expanding list size of just over 10,000 patients. Our practice is in the town of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire with close links to a wide range of amenities and excellent schools and housing in the North Lincolnshire area.
We operate from our Main Surgery site at Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, and we also have a Branch Surgery in the Ironstone Centre, West Street, Scunthorpe). Patients can attend either site for their medical care.
We are also an established Training Practice, which means we are responsible for the training of qualified doctors who wish to become General Practitioners.
We have an excellent Nursing, Reception and Administration team as well as a Clinical Pharmacist and Community Nursing Team support; and we actively seek to support and develop our team with regular meetings and opportunities for training.
We use SystmOne, Ardens, AccuRx online consultation IT systems. Our GPs are actively engaged with our Network South PCN, the ICB and Safecare Network our GP Federation on a locality and network level and we are keen to support candidates who want career progression or to develop a portfolio career.
