Job summary
Due to retirement, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Phlebotomist with up-to-date phlebotomy skills to join our friendly team.
This position is for 13.5 hours per week.
Mondays 8.30 - 6.00 at Chacewater Surgery
Wednesdays 8.30 - 1.00 at Devoran Surgery
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a small, experienced nursing and GP support team, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys venepuncture and is confident in carrying out basic clinical duties, including ECGs and blood pressure monitoring.

Job summary
Applications are invited from a highly motivated and enthusiastic phlebotomist or healthcare assistant with up-to-date phlebotomy skills.
This position is for a minimum of 18 hours per week. Further hours could be available.
Main duties of the job
- Phlebotomy skills, including management of patients taking Warfarin
- Chronic disease management for hypertension, chronic kidney disease, ischaemic heart disease
- BP recording, including 24 hour tapes
- ECG recording, including 24 hour tapes
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
- Patient health checks
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Ensuring instrument kits are sent for sterilisation in a timely manner and received back
- Sterilising, cleaning and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording fridge temperature
- Checking surgical equipment stock levels and stock rotation
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Recording clinical findings and updating data entry on clinical system according to practice requirements
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Candidates should already have some experience within the medical/healthcare sector, including experience of phlebotomy.
