Job summary
We are looking for a salaried GP to join our friendly, forward-thinking, well-established practice, The Orchard Practice, in Chessington for 4 - 6 sessions per week. Sessions are required for Tuesdays, Thursdays and one additional day. Our sessions consist of 14 patients per session all based at our site in Chessington, however all staff are required to cover at our branches in Kington, Surbiton and Ham for annual leave/sickness.
Main duties of the job
We aim to provide high quality healthcare to all of our patients through our large team of GPs and allied health staff including nurses, HCAs, pharmacists and social prescriber.
All our GPs benefit from:
Prescribing technicians to manage daily prescription queries
Full secretarial support to manage all e-referral and referral administration
Administrative support in completion of insurance reports
Strong links with our community teams, including regular MDT meetings
30 days annual leave and 1 weeks study leave (pro rata), including a guaranteed 2 weeks annual leave over the summer and a school holiday rota
BMA contract and access to the NHS pension scheme
A competitive salary and the option of time off in lieu or payment for weekend extended hours
Our clinical team work on a range of projects, from re-design of in house systems to the development of new services for our patients. We have a long standing commitment to offering all staff the opportunity to develop special interests, both through an in-house CPD programme and through outside training opportunities. We are a member of CCOB PCN and work closely with our colleagues in other practices to run joint services, most recently the COVID vaccination service.

At The Orchard Practice, Chessington and Churchill Medical Centre, Kingston, we are recruiting for a full and part-time, roles in our first contact administration team.
The team is responsible for dealing with patients face to face and over the telephone, ensuring they see the right member of our Practice team, as well as dealing with queries from patients and healthcare staff alike.

Main duties of the job
1. Greet patients and visitors to the practice.
2. Book in patients and visitors in line with practice appointments and visitors procedures.
3. Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly.
4. Ensure computerised appointment system is up to date.
5. Booking, amending and cancelling patient appointments.
6. Set-up of new patients onto the computer system, including amendment of new patient
7. Sort and distribute post and results for scanning or filing as appropriate
8. Completion of authorised prescriptions and their distribution
9. Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.
10. Ensure computerised links system is updated
Main duties of the job
Provide a warm and welcoming point of contact for the practice community
Assist in the smooth operation of the day-to-day running of front-of-house and telephone services
Proactively communicate information between relevant patients, carers, doctors, and other professionals
Ensure timely follow-up and action for patients
Deal with incoming queries from patients and third parties
Organise in-practice appointments, follow ups or other actions to provide high quality, compassionate care to our patient population
