Job responsibilities
Clerical / Administrative Duties
Open mail and distribute as appropriate and follow protocols for insurance reports, disability reports etc.
Processing the requests from subject request forms submitted by the patients
Able to do EMIS tasks and general tasks given by seniors / Manager / Clinicians
Request repeat prescriptions following practice protocol
Scan hospital and clinic letters and results into patients medical records.
Processing documents from workflow and forwarding to appropriate clinician (Training is provided).
Complete new patient registrations.
Assist with record management for deduction of patient records and preparing new patient records for filling / Amalgamations.
Call & Recall patients for chronic disease management , smear tests, vaccinations as required.
Reception Duties
Greeting and receiving patients and visitors in a courteous and helpful manner
Ensure that the reception area is not left unattended at any time
Monitor and maintain the display areas of reception updating information for surgery and other local resources as necessary
Answer the telephone and take messages accurately, passing messages to the appropriate person in a timely manner
Phone hospitals to obtain patients results and follow up appointments.
Deal with routine verbal information, requests from patients and other callers in person and on the telephone
Take the initiative by solving problems or passing them on as appropriate
Book appropriate appointments / triages for patients, either on the telephone or in person, with the doctor and nurse
Keep patients informed of the reason why surgeries are running late when appropriate
Project a positive and professional image of the practice and report any problems as necessary

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine to join our dynamic and evolving team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role aims to expand our establishment of Acute Physicians to twelve.
Within the department our consultants have a range of CCTs, skills and specialist interests including acute medicine, respiratory, renal, geriatrics, emergency medicine, USS/ECHO, endoscopy and education. As such the specific responsibilities of this position can be tailored in consultation with the care unit team to align with personal interests and professional goals, and we would consider applicants with a range of specialist interests or CCTs.
The appointed individual will be a key member of the Medicine and Emergency Care Division, reporting to the Divisional Director. They will be based in the EMU/Short stay/SDEC areas, providing senior decision-making and guidance to resident doctors, nurses, GPs, and other hospital departments, including the Emergency Department.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high quality direct and indirect clinical care.
Education, including clinical supervision and participation in team and service clinical meetings.
Engage in supporting professional activities such as audit and evaluation, teaching, clinical governance, and essential meetings.
Participate in continuous professional development, including fulfilling requirements for GMC revalidation and statutory and mandatory training.

The NIHR Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London has recently been awarded funding from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to optimise the delivery of world class research in ophthalmology and science associated with vision and sight.
The Facility forms part of the Moorfields NIHR Biomedical Research Centre for Ophthalmology, a joint initiative between Moorfields Eye Hospital and University College London Institute of Ophthalmology and is one of three London based Academic Health Science centres which together form the University College London Partners.
The CRF is dedicated to the delivery of high quality clinical research, including experimental medicine and translational research studies, pioneering new therapies for the treatment of a range of ophthalmic disorders. It offers a clinical environment in which patients and researchers are supported by a team of specialist research support staff including ophthalmic research nurses, administrators and technicians.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting for a Senior Fire Safety Advisorwho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Senior Fire Safety Advisor will provide expert professional advice, leadership, and operational management on all aspects of fire safety across the Trust. The post holder will ensure compliance with statutory fire safety legislation, NHS Fire code, Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), and Trust policies, supporting the Trust to meet its legal duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Develop and oversee a robust fire risk assessment programme for all Trust premises, ensuring assessments are suitable, sufficient, and reviewed regularly. Ensuring deficiencies relating to either planned maintenance or actual non-compliance of building and engineering fire systems are reported to the Fire Safety Manager and recorded at the Fire Safety Engineering Group.
Advise on the planning and design of new or existing buildings/structures, with particular emphasis on specifications for fire precautions, compliance with applicable fire standards and legislation at both design and construction stages. Attend site meetings and carry out fire safety checks on contractors' sites and report any breeches of legislation.

Main duties of the job
Our services are evolving to provide our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with more time to work alongside patients while supporting their medical and nursing colleagues. Our commitment is to ensure that every patient receives safe, high-quality care, placing our patients at the heart of our mission. This role is an ideal opportunity for a skilled and dedicated pharmacist looking for experience at a more senior level.
As a trust we are currently repatriating the care of our MS patients on disease modifying therapies from our tertiary centre to MKUH. To support this move and develop the service we can offer to our MS patients we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated pharmacist to join our team and become the pharmacy lead for neurology and biologics.
Working alongside colleagues in different specialties, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the pharmacy services to support the care of our MS patients and for the management of biologic medicines across the trust. You will have a regular clinical pharmacy commitment and will also be responsible for the line management of allocated members of the clinical pharmacy team.

Main duties of the job
As an Advanced MRI Radiographer, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality diagnostic service across our modern MRI facilities - including two Siemens 1.5T scanners at the main hospital site and a GE 1.5T Voyager at our Community Diagnostic Centre. With a new state-of-the-art Imaging Scanning Centre opening in 2026, this is an exciting time to be part of our growing service.

Job summary
This is an opportunity to develop your adult acquired SaLT skills with acute and stroke in-patients in a busy NHS hospital setting, as part of a supportive SaLT team based at Salisbury District Hospital. This is a full time fixed term contract post. This post can be tailored to either a current Band 6 Specialist SaLTs looking to extend skills and experience , or to an current Band 5 SaLT who has worked for more than a year as a qualified SaLT in an NHS hospital setting and has already gained NQP and dysphagia competencies. Experience of working in an NHS adult in-patient setting is essential for all candidates.
Qualifications required include a degree in Speech & Language Therapy, and ideally postgraduate training (or qualification) in adult dysphagia. Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council is essential. Membership of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists is desirable.
Postgraduate experience includes autonomous assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adults with swallowing and communication impairments from a wide range of acquired neurological conditions including Stroke, in an in-patient NHS setting. The applicants must flexible, be able to use initiative well, have effective caseload management and good clinical decision-making skills.
Main duties of the job
Your focus would be clinical work both in the Acute team across a range of 18 acute wards & units (general medical, surgical, & elderly), and potentially on the Stroke Unit. You will have responsibility to manage patient assessment & treatment decisions, and ensure excellent liaison with SaLT and MDT colleagues.
You may be required to contribute to the development of the SaLT team, including student supervision, NQP supervision, and in house CPD. You would be involved in wider department initiatives such as link roles, improving MDT working in specific areas (e.g. on the new elderly ward, in-patient PD or Stroke) as well as being involved in training hospital staff in communication and swallowing.
The SaLT team embraces new ways of working and has worked hard to be at the forefront of helpful and emerging technology. Therefore your patients have access to a range of instrumental dysphagia investigations for swallow assessments and instrumental devices for treatment. For patients with communication disorders, we have a broad range of computer based therapy available, and quick access to AAC.
We feel strongly that it is important to provide our SaLT team members with as much training and development as we can and as needed, and as a small team we meet often. We thrive on an ethos of sharing our learning, being supportive to each other, and being helpful and flexible at work when needed.

The post will be based within the high security, forensic hospital environment and offers a great development opportunity. The post holder will work alongside Occupational Therapists in assessment and treatment sessions throughout the patient's stay in the hospital.
The hospital has moved to a new bespoke hospital and is the most modern high secure, forensic hospital in the country. The hospital focuses on innovative care for a challenging and interesting patient group. We have a strong commitment to multi-professional working within the clinical team, focussing on reducing risk and offending behaviours.
We are looking to offer a male only position to a resourceful, motivated person who can demonstrate skills in engaging patients and teamwork. There are opportunities to progress in the service via the professional route through the Occupational Therapy apprenticeship.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the qualified Occupational Therapists in the services delivering assessment and treatment sessions. The Occupational Therapy Assistant see patients on and off the ward. The sessions will generally be group sessions but could at times be one to one sessions.
The hospital offers a variety of services which meet the changing needs of patients at every stage of their recovery and the work undertaken by the post holder will support this process.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BSCCP accredited nurse colposcopist to join the team in Southmead hospital, working within the Gynaecology Outpatients department.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic BSCCP accredited nurse colposcopist (band 7) to join our expanding Gynaecology service. We would also welcome applications from staff who don't hold the BSCCP qualification but would be keen to undertake the colposcopist course whilst working with the team on a band 6 level.
The Band 7 specialist nurse will deliver individualised patient centered care with a strong focus on effective communication and compassionate care.
This role will suit a knowledgeable and skilled nurse with gynaecology support and care experience who is interested in developing colposcopy knowledge and skills. You will work as an autonomous practitioner seeing patients independently. Throughout this role you will work alongside the Gynae Consultants and Gynae Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in Bristol and the community to ensure a co-ordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit, and research.
The post holder will ensure practice is in line with the latest governance frameworks and they will have a responsibility to ensure that they are kept up to date and work within up-to-date guidance.
The post holder will maintain and develop expertise and skills within this specialist field to facilitate the safe and effective management of their patients. The post holder will demonstrate professionalism in their behaviour, attitude, and appearance always.
