Job summary
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.
Job Title: Workforce Systems Facilitator
Contract Type: Fixed term ( 12 months from start date)
Purpose for Fixed Term: Limited Term Project
Please be advised that this vacancy may close earlier than stated if we receive a large number of applications.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting role within the Workforce Team which offers the opportunity to ensure the Trust delivers safe staffing, excellent patient care, workforce planning and providing excellent customer service whilst supporting all staff as users.
We need an approachable, analytical, quick thinking and well organised individual with excellent interpersonal communication skills who can work within a challenging dynamic and fast moving environment with critical deadlines. An ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is essential.
An individual who is proficient in maintaining, supporting and developing workforce IT systems including contracting, human resource systems, databases, payroll, rostering and learning management systems with their associated processes as required.
You will work closely with UHS stakeholders and the national NHS England implementation team, playing a key role in delivering one of the most significant workforce system transformation programmes in the NHS.
About us
As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to. UHS is rated 'Good' by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey, we were in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and for staff recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care.
We support flexible working and will consider requests taking into account the needs of the service. UHS employees are able to access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.
Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The New Forest National Park and beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep. The city offers living costs 30% lower than London and 17 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.
We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.

Job Title: Hospital Play Specialist
Contract Type: Permanent
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Hospital Play Specialist at UHS. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families during their hospital journey.
In this role, you'll be at the centre of creating positive, meaningful experiences for children across the entire children's hospital. Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you'll use specialised play techniques to support children through procedures, reduce anxiety, and help them feel safe, understood and empowered.
You'll bring warmth, imagination and confidence to every interaction -- whether you're leading engaging distraction activities during treatments, transforming clinical spaces into welcoming child-friendly environments, or supporting families as they navigate challenging moments. Your ability to connect with children and young people of all ages will be key to helping them feel at ease and in control.
As a valued member of our team, you'll also play an active role in mentoring and supporting colleagues, helping to shape a vibrant, collaborative and child-centred play service.
If you're enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to delivering exceptional care through therapeutic play, we'd love to hear from you. This is your chance to bring joy, comfort and creativity to children when they need it most -- and to be part of a team that truly makes a difference.

Job summary
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.
Job Title: (Trainee) Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Contract Type: Permanent
Applicants who can demonstrate they already meet the required competencies may be appointed at Band 8A
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) to work within the Acute Oncology Service. We're looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) but would also consider recruiting to a trainee role for the right candidate. The role involves the delivery of unscheduled care to people with complications of cancer and its treatment and supporting trainee ACPs through their academic and clinical pathways.
About us
As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to.

We currently have 17 beds and have a broad range of patients who deserve to receive high quality nursing care. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and flexible nurse to join the team. Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the safe, personal and effective care delivery to complex surgical patients, who require support from a wide range of nursing interventions, based on their individual needs. This will be ascertained following a detailed assessment of the patient on transfer to the ward either from the emergency surgical unit, theatre or critical care.
You will be responsible for between 5 and 8 patients usually, with medication administration, wound care, recognising deteriorating patients and acting accordingly, methods of specific analgesia such as PCA and epidurals, pre and post op care as well as managing patients stepping down form critical care. You will also be responsible for organising your shift working alongside one of our HCA's delivering care to your patients meeting their needs in relation to the activities of daily living such as mobility, skin integument, hygiene and nutrition. Please note this list is not exhaustive and being able to work under your own initiative and be responsive to the changing needs of the patients and the ward is important. You must be able to prioritise care accordingly.

We are now working towards achieving a good result on the new assessment framework, the QAAF.
