Job summary
This is a 6 PA substantive Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Old Age Psychiatry: Newcastle North OAP CTT.
This service operates at the St Nicholas Hospital in Gosforth, There are close links with the other Newcastle older adults' community mental health teams and inpatient services, as well as the large all-age liaison psychiatry services at RVI, and the Universal Crisis team.
You will join an experienced and well-established OAP CTT service which provides assessment and treatment for older adults with both functional and organic mental illnesses.
You will join a skilled multi-disciplinary (MDT) workforce, including Consultant colleagues, Specialty doctor, resident doctors, non-medical prescribers, Nursing colleagues, Psychologist and Occupational therapist.
As a Consultant, you will know what it means achieve this by leading a team. Striving for a better service leads to a better you.
Working 6 PAs a week over 3 days alongside the multidisciplinary team, including SAS doctors, resident doctors, and wider clinical team, you will be the clinical expert from a medical perspective to ensure best practice care is delivered and support the team.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will participate in the engagement, assessment, diagnosis and formulation of patients referred to the Newcastle North Older persons CMHT
- To provide medical leadership, consultation, advice and guidance within the CMHT, ensuring that care and treatment are safe, effective efficient and within national guidelines.
- To provide medical assessment, diagnosis and formulation to appropriate patients. On completion of assessment, advice on diagnosis and treatment within the team and to external service providers.
- To provide medical care to patients with severe mental health problems requiring enhanced care coordination.
- To liaise, advise and consult with hospital doctors and primary care clinicians on diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.
- To make assessments and recommendations under the Mental Health Act.
- To train and supervise trainee medical staff, including medical students and other allied professionals.
- To contribute to the ongoing training and development programmed within the CMHT and primary care.
- To lead and advise on research and audit projects in the team, where appropriate, in conjunction with other team members in line with the clinical governance agenda.
- To act as Lead professional for an appropriate caseload of patients outside care coordination arrangements, where the ongoing input required is solely medical.
- To provide (or ensure referral to the appropriate service for provision of) up to date evidence based interventions.

We are currently seeking a Peer Supporter to join our Hope Haven team based in Whitehaven, Cumbria. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a new and transformative service working alongside local partners including Home Group, Everyturn, as well as local third sector organisations.
Our aim is to transform the way mental health care is provided locally, by bringing together specialist health, social care and community services in the heart of West Cumbria.
Lived experience roles are a vital part of our plan to continually improve the services that we provide. They help to support people during their journey through our services to establish greater control over their lives, decisions and build resilience during their care and treatment.
This role is aimed at people who have experience of using their own recovery journey to help others and now feel able to be part of a small, dedicated team of peer supporters and ensure lived experience is integrated into each part of Hope Haven
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to offer a different perspective and contribute to the role by:
Offering a warm welcome to people using the service as part of our welcomer team by conducting initial and follow up consultations including Welcome Pad and use of NHS dialog + too
Working alongside colleagues from partner organisations to identify the most appropriate interventions for people whom we work with.
Liaising with senior leads to communicate progress within the Lived Experience team
Organising weekly workload including personal caseload where peers willmanage both appointments and walk-ins as well as other training sessions as part of development
Contributing to the development and delivery of training to all partners
Promoting carer involvement working alongside our carer lead and involvement team.
Assisting with facilitation of groups as well as 1:1 work, using wellness plans and tools.
Recording progress and concerns, working in a manner which ensures confidentiality and security on unique recording system.

The post holder must have the ability to communicate where there are barriers to understanding, and they must be able to work as part of a team. Job summary

This is a community post working with an established community older adultmental health team serving the Sunderland area.
The consultant in post will work closely with the community team.
The post holder will provide senior expertise in assessment and treatment of older adults referred with psychiatric, behavioural concerns.
The Sunderland Community Mental health team is based at Monkwearmouth Hospital. The post holder will have good links with the other consultant colleagues within older adult services.
Currently there are 4 consultants, a specialty doctor working within Sunderland community in addition to current vacant post. There is another specialty Doctor working in the team in the short term.
There is access to a comprehensive Multidisciplinary team :
- community nurses
- Psychologists
- Occupational Therapist
- Team lead
- CCM
There will be opportunity for teaching, audit, and SPA activities.
Main duties of the job
- To provide medical assessment, diagnosis and formulation for patients with functional and cognitive illness referred to the Elderly care Community Mental Health Team in Sunderland patch.
- To assess and make recommendations under the Mental Health Act & fulfil the duties of Responsible Clinician as appropriate.
- To provide (or ensure referral to the appropriate service) for the provision of up to date, evidence based interventions for the patients under their care.
- To collaborate with GP's, hospital doctors and primary care clinicians regarding the physical health care of the patients under their care.
- To provide leadership, consultation, advice and guidance to the Community Mental Health Team.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues in other specialist mental health teams.
- To take a lead role with the Team Manager, Clinical Leads and other colleagues in service improvements and development.
- To contribute to the ongoing training and development program within the community teams.
- To train & supervise junior medical staff if interested and seek approval as Educational/Clinical Supervisor. The post holder will be encouraged to apply to be a Trainer when ready. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join our service, providing input to inpatient wards across North Cumbria.
We can offer flexibility in contracted hours for this role, with options between 22.5 and 37.5 hours per week.
This post forms part of the Speech and Language Therapy Inpatient Team, which supports both working-age adult and older people's mental health wards across Cumbria, Northumberland, Newcastle, Gateshead, and Sunderland. The team works with individuals presenting with complex cognitive and functional mental health needs.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering high-quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions. The post holder will work as part of theWider Recovery and Engagement Team, supporting the delivery of innovative, person-centred physical activity and sports interventions.
Northgate Hospital provides inpatient care withinmedium and low secure environmentsfor men with a range of mental health needs, learning disabilities and personality disorders. The service offers a variety of care and support models tailored to individual clinical needs, including day services, intensive support, individual keyworker sessions and clinic-based interventions.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties of the Job
The service is seeking amotivated, enthusiastic and committed fitness professionalwith an interest in supporting this patient group through physical activity, sport and exercise.
The successful candidate will be responsible for theday-to-day delivery of a bespoke Sports Hub timetable, providing a range of one-to-one and group-based physical activity interventions both within the inpatient units and in the wider community.
The role requires an individual who can build positive and professional relationships with patients, demonstrateexcellent communication and interpersonal skills, and deliver safe, engaging and inclusive activities that support recovery, wellbeing and social engagement.
The successful candidate will need to bereliable, adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing clinical needs and circumstances, working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure that sports and physical activity interventions are aligned with individual care and recovery goals.
