Job responsibilities

The Practice Nurse will support the delivery of essential primary care services, health promotion, disease prevention, immunisation programmes and the management of acute and long-term conditions.

The postholder is required to deliver safe, effective and compassionate patient care in accordance current clinical guidance and practice policies.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Experience in general practice.
• Experience in long-term condition management.
• Training or experience in immunisations.
• Training or experience in cervical screening.
• Training or experience in chronic disease reviews.
• Follow infection prevention and control policies.
• Comply with safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.

Desirable

• Knowledge of relevant primary care clinical systems and national guidelines.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and incident reporting.
