An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to work as part of our dedicated team within the Inpatient Forensic Team based at Langdon, in Dawlish.

The role is dynamic and challenging and we are looking for someone who is highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic who can demonstrate an eagerness for the on-going development of the service.

You would be joining us at an exciting time as our service continues to develop.

You will need excellent communication and leadership skills to ensure collaborative work with service users, utilising the wellbeing and recovery model, to provide the highest quality of care.

This role will require the post-holder to provide strong, practical and clinical leadership with the highest regard to valuing and supporting your team. You will have the confidence and skills to support your team to respond to both the physical and mental well-being needs of your patients in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team and be a strong advocate for your patients.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate a sound experience of risk assessment and management and will be committed to the principles of service user and carer involvement; as well as showing expertise in budgetary management and being able to understand and meet performance criteria.

Main duties of the job

You will be an RMN, RGN, OT or Social Worker with post registration experience, including significant experience in a Band 6 position. In return we offer a highly supportive and cohesive multi-disciplinary team with a range of opportunities to further develop your abilities and career.

You will have experience of working in a team. The role involves communication, so we expect that you have excellent verbal and written skills.

You will often work under pressure and without direct supervision, so we are looking for someone confident and capable. You will prioritise tasks, and manage your own workload, providing support for your colleagues where required.

You will become an important part of the team, working to ensure that every patient receives high quality care. You may be required to support the induction of new staff member, demonstrating activities to them and providing supervision to support administrators.

Job summary

The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team is a pivotal service whose main focus is to offer an alternative to an inpatient admission and provide intensive treatment as required within the community. The service will also ensure effective gatekeeping of all service users referred to the service for admission to Hospital. The service will operate on an outreach basis with the majority of assessments taking place in non-Hospital environments.

We are currently recruiting a Community Support worker for the Teignbridge CRHTT.

The post holder will be an active member of the integrated multi-disciplinary team (MDT), providing a 24-hour community-based Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service as an alternative to hospital admission.

As part of a MDT, the Community Support Worker is a pivotal role in shaping, implementing and facilitating interventions for individuals with a diverse mental health needs within the community.

Under the direction and leadership of a qualified Mental Health Professional, the team are responsible for:

• Deliver a collaborative care plan with specific home interventions and goals.
• Offer crisis resolution as an alternative to hospital admission, available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
• Serve as the gatekeeper for inpatient hospital beds.
• Conduct initial in-person follow-up after hospital discharge

• Provide responsive, person-centred support to individuals experiencing mental health crisis in the community.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, social workers, and peer support workers.

As an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor (OTTI) at The Brook, you will be a key member of the Occupational Therapy team, supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults during their inpatient admission.

Working under the supervision of Occupational Therapists, you will use practical, technical and creative skills to plan and deliver person-centred therapeutic activities and delegated OT interventions. We are looking for candidates with experience of Intellectual Disability. You will be involved in complex assessment and formulation; designing complex multicomponent interventions and delivering these directly and indirectly via individual or group therapies, care planning, training and consultation. We would expect you to have experience of psychometric assessment and at least two forms of therapeutic intervention (such as Positive Behaviour Support, CBT or DBT), as well as an understanding of the latest evidence around interventions.
