Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing intensive community support to adults with learning disabilities who are experiencing mental health crises, behaviours that challenge, or increased risks that could lead to unnecessary hospital admission. Our aim is to provide timely, responsive interventions that promote recovery, improve quality of life, and support people to remain in their own homes wherever possible.
You will have experience working with people with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health needs in a health or social care setting. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, compassion and resilience, and be able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will also have:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent ).
- Experience of supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
- An understanding of person-centred care, positive behaviour support and risk management.
- Good organisational and IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate clinical records.
- A flexible approach to working across a seven-day service.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel independently across the Trust area, as community working is an essential part of the role.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 4 Clinical Assistant, you will work alongside learning disability nurses, Mental Health Nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and other health and social care professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions in community settings.
The service operates 7 days a week between 8:00am and 8:00pm, and you will participate in a flexible rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and therapeutic interventions under the direction of registered practitioners.
- Support comprehensive assessments, care planning, risk management and the delivery of positive behaviour support strategies.
- Build trusting relationships with individuals, families, carers and support providers to promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
- Monitor and report changes in physical health, mental health and behavioural presentation, escalating concerns appropriately.
- Contribute to preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and supporting timely discharge from inpatient services.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Trust policies and professional standards.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to provide coordinated, holistic care.
- Promote safeguarding, dignity, equality, inclusion and the rights of people with learning disabilities.

As a Support Worker, you will be a valued member of the Community Mental Health Team for Older People, supporting older adults with a range of mental health conditions, including dementia, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and other functional or organic mental health illnesses.

As a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist you will be solely accountable and responsible for the direct delivery of psychological services to adults with significant mental illness/disorder. Main duties of the job
You will be skilled in assessment, formulation, and in the delivery of appropriate highly specialisedpsychological therapies, where highly complex facts must be considered, and where expert opinion may differ.
You will undertake clinically relevant research and audit evaluation, as well as supervise the research & development activities of Assistants and Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
You will be responsible for developing highly specialised programmes of care.Judgements need to be made involving highly complex facts or situations, which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
You will need to be able to share sensitive information with clients, their carers and other professionals, whose opinion may differ.
You will receive regular highly specialised supervision in common with good practice guidelines.

To provide proactive Medical Secretary and P.A. services to the Consultant Psychiatrists and their medical teams, including maintaining an electronic diary of appointments, taking messages, drafting correspondence/replies and dealing with confidential information relating to patients and medical staff. Emphasis on organising admission and discharge planning meetings, monitoring mental health act due dates and aligning this with the medical team to meet all deadlines.
Contribute to the implementation and administration of computer data collection systems ensuring information is recorded accurately and on a regular and timely basis.
To ensure the provision of an effective and efficient secretarial and administrative support to the wider clinical team including dealing with telephone enquiries, relatives, GP'S, social workers and other agencies maintaining good communication between all of the Adult Inpatient Teams and Services.
To maintain and co-ordinate annual leave and study leave for the Consultants ensuring the service is adequately covered.
When required to maintain confidential files concerning patients' correspondence, reports and departmental matters in line with NHS procedures
To collect and submit statistical returns for the teams.
To maintain up to date data scanning and filing system and provide statistics as and when required.

Job summary
Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to recruit a Band 5 (developmental) or Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse to work our well-established Ferndown and West Moors Older Persons Community Mental Health Team.
If you are a RMN with experience working with people suffering severe mental illness whether this be inpatient, or community based we would love to hear from you.
This post is 30 hours per week (non working day must be a Tuesday or Thursday). This post is being extended to allow for applications from newly qualified nurses, or those practitioners currently working at a Band 5 and looking to develop with support towards a Band 6 whilst working in the community.
The Service is a specialist team providing assessment, treatment and support for individuals suffering from organic and functional mental health illness. Experience of working with older adults with organic/functional mental illness in an inpatient or community setting would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard-working, with a positive approach to delivering high quality care to patients and be willing to work collaboratively with carers and other professionals. You will carry a defined caseload and manage this with the support of the team leader and the wider team.
Main duties of the job
We work with a multitude of services across Ferndown and West Moors and surrounding areas to ensure the mental health needs of the older adult population is met.
We are a busy CMHT and we are looking for someone who is reliable, committed and motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise their caseload whilst balancing service demands. In return we are ready to offer you comprehensive and structured management supervision, management you can approach any time and peer support.
The post holders will work as part of an established integrated multi-disciplinary team. This team is made up of a Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Nursing staff, Support Time Recovery Workers and Business Support Team.
The primary role responsibility is to act as dedicated Care Coordinator for a caseload of patients with whom you would provide person centred, holistic care to assist in aiding their wellbeing and recovery.

This is a diverse role with new challenges each day: Direct clinical assessments, advice and support, supervise our fantastic mental health support workers, give clinical advice to other agencies and emergency services, co-ordinate urgent and emergency responses, and liaise with a range of internal and external services.
We are committed to professional development and support, offering internal and external training/education programmes and supervision.
Full and part time hours available. This is a 24/7 service with shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights. All reasonable flexible working requests will be considered.
Main duties of the job
This role includes a £3,000 Recruitment Premium lump sum on commencement of employment and thereafter a further £1,500 Retention Premium per annum (pro-rata), paid in equal monthly instalments provided you remain in post and subject to review by the Trust.
Telephone and face to face mental health assessments, brief clinical interventions and support, signposting and referrals.
Validating, de-escalating crisis and coaching people in distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies. Using a range of brief interventions, you will empower patients, carers and families to manage distress and crisis effectively.
As well as telephone based work the role also include opportunity to complete urgent face to face assessments across Dorset when indicated.
Providing clinical information, advice and support to other professionals and emergency services. Supporting police and ambulance service in accessing most appropriate support for those presenting in mental health crisis.
The team is part of the Trust Access Mental Health services and works closely with a range of other teams and services, including Home Treatment teams, Liaison Psychiatry and the Retreats. Overnight, Connection covers the Home Treatment Team caseload and manages any referrals.

Dorset Healthcare are looking for enthusiastic individuals to drive in the community as Urgent Care Assistants for the Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Service across Dorset.
You will be joining a dedicated team that supports patient care, safely driving clinicians to Dorset community-based patients and supporting in the delivery of care in patient's homes where appropriate and training has been undertaken.
This role is based in St Leonards. Full training and development will be offered to successful candidates.
This role is a permanent part time position supporting a 24/7 service. Shift patterns will include public holidays, late shifts, night shifts and weekends.Enhanced shift allowance will be paid for out of hours working.
Rota available = 16.75 hours. Week 1= 12 hours, week 2 = 21 hours, week 3 = 25.5 hours and week 4 = 8.5 hours. Main duties of the job

Job summary
This is a maternity cover post for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Adult Neuropsychology (ANP) service in Dorset and work as a member of the East Dorset Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Service across the community in East Dorset.
This post will work with stroke and neuro patients under the ESD service. The role will be supervised by the Clinical Neuro Psychologist for the East Stroke & Neuro pathway and work closely with the adult Neuropsychology service in Dorset Healthcare. The post holder will be expected to work at Canford House, outpatient clinics and community locations in East Dorset.
This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
The post is being advertised as an 8a but applicants who are looking for a preceptorship role at band 7 will be considered as well (24.25 hours for band 7)

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Psychologist in this post will be fully responsible for the delivery of psychological services to adults within the ESD service in East Dorset. They will be offering and implementing skilled assessments and clinical formulations to enhance the understanding of the nature of the stroke/neurological conditions for the patients, their carers and the rehabilitation team.
The Clinical Psychologist will develop and implement highly specialised clinical psychological programmes. These will be delivered directly to the patients as well as integrated within the rehabilitation offered by the multidisciplinary service.
The Clinical Psychologist will have autonomy to plan and prioritise their workload. This includes collaborations within the team, with related agencies and teaching organisations.
The Clinical Psychologist will offer consultancy activities to primary care and other professionals which will involve teaching, training and supervision. The psychologist will also support the training and supervision of clinical psychologists, trainee psychologists and assistants. They will benefit from our strong links with clinical psychology training programmes and neuropsychology courses at the universities linked with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
The Clinical Psychologist will have opportunities & obligations to further their CPD in line with guidelines set down by the Trust and the BPS/HCPC.

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our supportive and developing specialist service, where you will provide clinical leadership, contribute to service development and help shape the future of Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) and At-Risk Mental State (ARMS) services across Dorset.
Based at the Hillcrest Unit in Bournemouth, you will work as part of a pan-Dorset multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care. EIP supports people aged 14-65, while ARMS supports young people aged 14-35.
This varied role offers the opportunity to provide specialist clinical expertise in the assessment and management of complex mental health presentations, including psychosis. You will undertake new patient assessments, medical reviews, Mental Health Act assessments, tribunal work and care planning, delivered across clinic, community and home settings where appropriate.
You will join a supportive, forward-thinking specialist service committed to high-quality, recovery focused care and excellent patient outcomes. The ARMS service is primarily psychologically led, with medical oversight from the Consultant Psychiatrist. Referrals come from community, CMHT, primary care and inpatient services, providing an opportunity to work across the wider general adult pathway.

Main duties of the job
As the Consultant Psychiatrist you'll provide clinical leadership and expert psychiatric assessment and management within the EIP and ARMS services. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care in clinic and community settings.
You will contribute to new assessments, medical reviews, CPA reviews, Mental Health Act assessments, tribunals, discharge planning and collaborative care with community mental health teams, inpatient services and primary care. You'll also support the interface between EIP, ARMS and the wider general adult pathway.
We offer a £10,000 recruitment & retention payment, paid monthly during your first year in post, alongside a generous relocation package of up to £10,000 for eligible candidates relocating to Dorset. Are you a Registered Nurse looking to change your working environment, and develop your knowledge and skill set? The Complex Leg Ulcer Service can support you with 22.5 hours per week working between Frederick Treves House and The Atrium Health Centre working within the leg ulcer clinics.
As a complex leg ulcer Staff Nurse, you will support the ongoing development of the nurse led Complex Leg Ulcer management service. You will provide evidence based professional advice on all aspects of leg ulcer management to patients and their carers. The Mental Health Support Team in Schools is part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) within Dorset Healthcare and you would be joining a team of committed professionals from a range of backgrounds and with a wealth of experience. Learning anddevelopment is promoted and encouraged, and we have a number of trainee staff working with us at all times.
Our base is in Weymouth but you would be expected to travel to work across the whole of the Weymouth, Portland and West Dorset area as required. You should have a full driving license and access to a car for work purposes.

Main duties of the job
You will be working within education settings offering counselling intervention to children and young people presenting with mild to moderate mental and emotional health needs.You will also work alongside colleagues both within the team, and within educational settings, to promote whole school approaches to good emotional wellbeing, which may involve small or large group interventions, staff training and work with parents, carers and families.You will maintain live registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and to adhere to all relevant codes of practice and guidelines for professional and chartered psychologists.
You will co-ordinate and deliver individualised care packages / programs for children and young people and evaluate these programs, ensuring high standards of practice in accordance with national guidelines and trust policy.You will demonstrate the ability to make appropriate decisions with regard to the confidentiality of clients and their families taking into considerations the risks to clients, self and the wider public

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systemic Family Psychotherapist to join Dorset Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMH) within the Getting More Help quadrant of our Thrive model, supporting children, young people and families across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole locality.

Main duties of the job
As a Systemic Family Psychotherapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialist assessments and evidence-based systemic interventions for children, young people and families experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. You will manage a complex caseload, formulate and deliver systemic treatment plans, undertake risk assessment and safety planning, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for children and families.
The successful candidate will also provide systemic consultation, supervision and reflective practice to colleagues, contribute to service development, and support the continued delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across the service.
You will hold a postgraduate qualification in Family/Systemic Psychotherapy accredited by AFSP and be registered with UKCP or an equivalent professional body. You will have significant post-qualification experience working with children, young people and families within CAMHS or community mental health settings, including managing complex presentations and providing systemic assessments and interventions.
Experience of offering supervision, consultation, training and working collaboratively across agencies would be advantageous.

If so, why not join the Dorset Steps 2 Wellbeing Service as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). This is an exciting opportunity to join a Low-Intensity Team in Weymouth & Portland, Dorset.
Dorset Steps 2 Wellbeing is a dynamic, and progressive service with a friendly and supportive team. You will work within NHS Talking Therapies, providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems, including depression and a a variety of anxiety disorders.
As a psychological wellbeing practitioner, you will provide treatment to help support people by:
Conducting patient interviews
Carry out risk assessments
Provide phone, online, or face-to-face support
Liaise with other agencies, and signpost patients to services, such as housing and employment.
You must have either a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT with IAPT PWP status or an MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) qualification to apply for this post.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work within the NHS Talking Therapies service providing high volume low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions service to patients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
- Assess and supports people with a common mental health problem in the self management of their recovery.
- Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high volume low - intensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help, computerised CBT, and delivering courses. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job
You will assess, treat, monitor and evaluate the progress of the child's Occupational Therapy treatment, considering the holistic and developmental needs of the individual, and any relevant environmental factors.

You will facilitate the improvement and development of the full range of functions (cognitive, sensory, physical, interpersonal, and intrapersonal) of complex young people through the provision of Occupational Therapy Assessment and Treatment.

We are excited to announce a secondment opportunity for a Perinatal Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work with the Dorset Perinatal Community Mental Health service for a period of 14months.
The service offers specialist mental health treatment to women experiencing mental health difficulties in the perinatal period. From preconception up to 2 years postnatal. This is an opportunity for a highly skilled professional with a passion for Perinatal Mental Health to immerse themselves within our Perinatal Services.
The Community Perinatal Mental Health Team cover PAN Dorset to ensure Perinatal Services are accessible to women and families across the county, having two main office hubs at Dorchester (Forston Clinic) and Bournemouth (Alumhurst Road). This position is predominately within the east of Dorset geographically.
Majority of our clinical contact occurs within the patients home environment, therefore car driving is essential.
Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialist high quality person centred care within the framework of the Perinatal frame of mind which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence based.
As part of a multi-professional team, the post holder will practice autonomously, whilst being accountable and self-directed in line with the relevant code of professional conduct.
To plan and manage complete episodes of care; undertake independent comprehensive assessment and management of service users to incorporate pharmacological considerations; making complex clinical decisions regarding service user management and clinical outcomes.
To provide expert clinical advice, leadership and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis and advanced decision making skills.
To lead as a driver for change, to monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence based practice, clinical audit, research and education. To promote and demonstrate best practice by integrating evidence into practice

As a Social Worker you will be enthusiastic and motivated to deliver high quality care to young people aged 13-18 years old.You will have an understanding of child and adolescent mental health, experience of working within an MDT, a good understanding of complex mental health, attachment and trauma issues for children and young people. We provide in depth on-going inductions, invest in personal training programmes, encouraging and supporting all staff throughout their career, to grow and develop. The Social Worker role is a part time post of 15 hours hours Monday to Friday. This can be discussed at interview stage.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive administrator to join our team at Oakley House supporting the Community Mental Health Teams.
The position is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will ideally have some previous experience of working within a similar role.Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team would be an advantage.
This role is key to the smooth running of the CMHT, you will be communicating with and supporting service users for appointments and other queries and dealing with all the admin for the clinical teams, including typing and processing clinical letters, organising appointments, covering outpatient reception where needed, and supporting clinical meetings producing minutes where necessary.
The role is a varied and busy one. You will need to have strong multitasking skills, patience, resilience, along with good computer and organisational skills. The need for confidentiality is essential in this role as is the attention to detail.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to lead our fast paced, administration team.
The post holder will have overarching responsibility for the management of the administration team which is based across Dorset. - Line manager, support and offer guidance to Medical Secretaries, Administrators and Ward Clerk on the inpatient unit. Oversee the administration systems and processes.

What do we need from you?
Recent experience within an inpatient mental health setting or significant experience within a care setting caring for patients with mental health conditions.Nursing home/care home experience is NOT sufficient for this role.
Evidence of the completion of the Care Certificate.

A minimum of three shifts per month
You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your engagement that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.This is a five-day course and must be passed to work within our in-patient settings. PMVA is a pre-requisite to working within our mental health inpatient areas.
PMVA certificates will be released on request after Bank workers have completed 25 clinical shifts.
