Job summary
We are looking for a part time Receptionist/Administrator (Care Coordinator) to work with our friendly and supportive team at Faversham Medical Group.
We have a range of shifts available, including weekend work which is paid at an enhanced rate.
Please note we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
Employment will be by Faversham Medical Group at Faversham Medical Practice, with cross-site working as required. However, this role is an Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) funded role across Faversham PCN.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to support the PCN Practice at the above locations to:
- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of administrative support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat prescribing efficiency, medicines optimisation, medication enquiries triage and maximising patient outcomes.

Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.
Taking messages and passing on information.
Filing and retrieving paperwork.
Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
Scanning of post, new patient notes, previously filed patient notes and other documents as required.
Administrative duties.
Chaperoning duties.
Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.
Providing help and information to patients and visitors.
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms as required.
Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning.
Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies. Re-stocking the stationery cupboard with these supplies.
Provision of refreshments for staff and visitors as required; washing up afterwards and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy.
Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter.
Ensuring off site external storage unit is kept organised, clean and accessible when instructed by the Reception Managers or Reception/Administrator Supervisor, retrieving, updating and filing of stored information as required.

Up to 37.5 hours a week
Shift pattern during the week is negotiable. Saturday working is required. Saturday shifts are 9-2, this can be alternate Saturdays.

Job summary:
The practice nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of practice.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
- Cervical Cytology
- Wound care/ulcer care/performance of dopplers/Tissue Viability Assessment.
- Removal of Sutures/Clips
- New patient health checks (delivering opportunistic health promotion at the same time)
- Travel Clinic
- ECGs
- Peak flow readings/Spirometry
- Venepuncture
- Blood pressure checks
- Ear syringing
- Urinalysis
- Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
- Covid-19 vaccinating including in other care settings such as care homes.
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings

Job summary
Urgent Treatment Centre - Clinical and Operations Manager (Salary £57,528 - £64,750* basic salary + 4% additional for Lead Role & Prescribing premium)
We are looking for the lead for our friendly and supportive team at Faversham Urgent Treatment Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running and future development of our thriving UTC service.
The UTC has access to X-ray and point of care testing. The UTC team has 13 practitioners, supported by GPs and HCAs.
The UTC is open 7 days a week 8am to 8pm. This position requires working some Bank Holidays, regular Saturdays and Sundays, evenings and other cover when needed.
An independent prescribing qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
Staff working out of hours will receive an unsocial hours addition. This is paid at additional 30% rate for working on a Saturday and additional 60% rate for working on a Sunday or Bank Holiday, during contracted hours.
We also give a prescribing premium of £3,000 gross per annum to FTE UCPs that have successfully passed the prescribing qualification and have become independent prescribers, payable over 12 months. This is pro-rata for part-time UCPs.
A standard Disclosure and Barring Service check will be carried out as part of our recruitment procedures and also regularly during employment. The responsibility for payment of this lies with the Practice.

Manage implementation of any changes recommended from incident reviews and learning events

Create and submit quality and contractual compliance reports required by commissioners
Human Resources;
Manage Urgent Care Practitioners rota and to maintain adequate staffing levels
Carry out the Urgent Care Practitioners teams annual appraisals and reviews, including 6 monthly reviews
Review and approve training requests from the UCP team in collaboration with the management team and GP lead for HR
Identify training requirements within the Urgent Care Practitioners team
Carry out back to work interviews after episodes of sick leave
Deal with requests for annual leave/TOIL/time off for other reasons, authorising or rejecting any requests in line with the Staff Handbook and in discussion with the HR Manager as appropriate.
Sign off overtime requests
Deal with change of hours requests in conjunction with the Business and HR Managers
Carry out exit interviews with the HR Manager
Deal with general day-to-day queries from members of the UTC team
Take part in UCP/UTC meetings
Responsible for cross line management when another line manager is absent.

Health & safety:
The post-holder will implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management their own and others health and safety and infection control as defined in the practice Health & Safety policy, the practice Health & Safety manual, and the practice Infection Control policy and published procedures. Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines

Responsible for the correct and safe management of the specimens process including collection, labelling, handling, use of correct and clean containers, storage and transport arrangements
