Main duties of the job

• Act as an Authorised Pharmacist for the aseptic unit, supervising aseptic preparation of ready to administer injectable medicines such as Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and deputising for the Accountable Pharmacist.

Main duties of the job

The position is a permanent post of 37.5 hours per week and will include 7 day cover & Bank Holiday cover. This post may require cross-site working at Barnet & Royal Free hospitals and any other hospitals that joins our Group Model.

Full support is available and we fully encourage the training and development of all our staff, including participation in CPD work.

The post holder is to assist the Chief Technician and act as a supervisor in the day to day running of one of the following teams, the Chemotherapy unit, the Sterile Batches Unit, the Central Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS) and the Non-Sterile Manufacturing Department in addition to training new and less experienced staff working in these units.

The post holder will be a member of one of these and will rotate between teams as required.

It is the post-holder's responsibility to ensure that all products made are manufactured in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice, COSHH and Health and Safety Directives.

The post-holder will be expected to deputise for the Chief Technician in each area in his / her absence.

The post-holder is expected to develop and maintain personal expertise in all technical aspects of manufacture and extemporaneous preparation undertaken within the production unit at The Royal Free Hospital, in particular aseptic preparation. Job summary

The post holder is to assist the Operations Chief Technician and Senior Technicians in the day to day running of the Sterile Production Unit, the Non-Sterile Manufacturing Department, the Aseptic units and the training of less- experienced staff working in the units. The department is split into four teams: Sterile Batches, Chemotherapy, Non-Sterile and CIVAS. The post holder will be a member of one of these and will rotate between teams as required. We are looking for a Practice Pharmacist to join the clinical team at Palace Surgery, part of the South Fulham PCN and caring for around 5500 patients in Fulham, London.

This is a varied, patient-facing role with real autonomy. You will lead on medicines optimisation across the practice, working alongside our GPs, nurses and PCN paramedics as a valued member of the clinical team rather than a back-office function. You will have your own clinical caseload, protected time for reviews, and the support of colleagues who are used to working with a pharmacist and understand what the role can achieve.
