We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive general practice team for a fixed-term period of 12 months, covering maternity leave.

At Greenway Community Practice, we place great importance on continuity of care and personal GP lists, ensuring patients have the opportunity to build a relationship with their own GP wherever possible. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will primarily undertake routine treatment room nursing duties, including:
- Wound care and dressings
- Cervical cytology screening
- Adult and childhood immunisations
- Health promotion and lifestyle advice
- Other routine treatment room procedures
- Working collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to QOF, audit and other practice requirements

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a high-quality medical secretarial service, supporting GPs and clinicians with the efficient management of patient-related administrative processes. Duties will include preparing and processing clinical correspondence, referrals, reports and other medical documentation.
The post holder will be responsible for processing and tracking referrals, investigations and hospital correspondence, liaising with secondary care providers and other healthcare professionals where appropriate.
The role will also involve monitoring and actioning incoming correspondence, scanning and filing clinical documents, allocating tasks to the appropriate clinician or team member, and following up outstanding actions where required. The post holder will ensure that confidential patient information is handled appropriately and in accordance with practice policies, information governance requirements and data protection legislation.
In addition, the successful candidate will carry out workflow processes and accurately read-code relevant information into patients electronic healthcare records, in accordance with the practices coding policy and agreed procedures.
