Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a 0.8 WTE, permanent Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychological Practitioner to join our Maternity Trauma and Loss Care (MTLC) Service.
The service is aimed at supporting women/birthing people who are affected by pregnancy loss (including terminations for any reason), still birth, neonatal loss, perinatal trauma, and those who have a fear of pregnancy/childbirth (Tokophobia). The service offers a combination of specialist psychological therapy and specialist midwifery input, to those whose needs cannot be met by other primary or secondary care services.
MTLC has been developed in conjunction with Experts by Experience, drawing on the invaluable input of women and birthing people locally who have faced maternity trauma and loss.
The post holder will be a part of an MDT with dedicated psychological practitioners and midwives. They will provide trauma informed assessments and evidence-based interventions to women and birthing people presenting to the service.
As a tri-borough service, the successful candidate will be asked to work across Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work across the three West London boroughs covered by the service as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT), providing a qualified clinical psychology service to women and birthing people referred to, or receiving care from, the team.
Under the supervision of a senior psychological practitioner, the post holder will screen referrals, undertake specialist psychological assessments and provide trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions for women experiencing trauma, loss and a range of mental health, social and emotional difficulties related to the maternity context.
The post holder will apply a range of psychological models and deliver specialist perinatal psychology interventions, including developing and facilitating group programmes in community and virtual settings. Interventions will be tailored to the needs of women and their infants, taking account of varying levels of complexity, distress and illness.
Using a psychological and trauma-informed approach, the post holder will provide consultation and advice to colleagues and the wider professional network involved in maternity care across the North West London footprint, including West Middlesex, Chelsea and Westminster, St Mary's, Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea, and Hillingdon Hospitals.
The role requires autonomous practice within professional guidelines and service policies, alongside contribution to research, audit, service evaluation, policy development and improvement.

Job summary
Thank you for your interest in the Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) position within our H&F Assertive Engagement and Rehabilitation Team.
Please read the Job Description and Person Specification carefully to ensure you meet the essential criteria and hold the relevant current professional registration. This post is currently ring-fenced for nursing applicants only.
West London NHS Trust's Community Rehabilitation Services are undergoing an exciting period of development, with the integration of an assertive outreach function. The successful candidate will work across both rehabilitation and assertive outreach pathways.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic mental health nurse with experience in psychosocial rehabilitation and a passion for service development.
Previous experience in a rehabilitation or assertive outreach setting is essential. You will support people with complex mental health needs to achieve recovery, greater independence and improved quality of life.
The role requires excellent communication, clinical decision-making, risk management, multidisciplinary working and the ability to engage individuals who may find it difficult to access or maintain contact with services.
You will be supported by experienced senior and professional managers and a committed multidisciplinary team. We offer opportunities for ongoing training, professional development and involvement in service improvement.
Main duties of the job
- To provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate, evidence-based assessments to establish client's needs; level of support and type of interventions required to facilitate their rehabilitation
- To manage a small caseload of service users with complex, severe and enduring mental health needs; using evidence based and recovery principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment and support for clients in our Boroughs who are registered with a local GP.
- To act as a named worker for service users and hold a caseload of nursing-specific clients (usually for medication administration and physical health monitoring). Undertake assessment and care co-ordination activities within a multi-disciplinary framework, in order to identify the needs of service users and to arrange and provide appropriate packages of care within the available budget.
- To present cases to the relevant placement panels for in-borough and out-of-borough placements, both for initial funding requests and reviews.
- To work proactively with service providers to draw up resettlement plans and carry out regular reviews for clients to assess their progress towards identified goals.
- To contribute to service development
- To undertake supervisory and appraisal responsibilities for allocated team members
- To act as mentor to students on practice placement and to mentor junior members of staff.
