Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the role is to support the clinical research team with all aspects of clinical trials administration, according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and trust policies.
The post holder will provide support to the Research Nurses and wider Clinical Research Team and undertake Management of Band 5 Snr Clinical Trial Coordinator(s).
The post holder will be responsible for the administration of clinical trials from feasibility to archiving including (but not limited to):
Responsible for the efficient and timely set up of clinical trials.
Responsible for maintaining databases/spreadsheets and production of monthly progress reports on recruitment.
Workforce planning to manage trial activity ensuring case report form completion and amendment processing meets internal and external deadlines.
Oversee quality assurance of all trial related documentation in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
Working closely with the Head of Research and Research Governance Lead to ensure preparation for audit and inspections within assigned teams.

Job summary
This role provides an exciting opportunity for a highly organised, proactive individual to take on a senior post within the Schools imaging services based at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). They will require extensive experience of clinical research management under the NHS Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care and excellent understanding of National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) priorities. The post will be hosted by the Schools Research Department of Early Life Imaging, which delivers a clinical research portfolio of around 20 studies related to fetal, neonatal, paediatric and maternal imaging and health. The post-holder will also provide support to Principal Investigators (PIs) and research teams across the Schools other imaging services and research departments as part of a network of research governance and delivery experts.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible to the Director of Clinical & Research Imaging Operations and will provide advice to a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and academics in managing the delivery of their assigned imaging research portfolio, including preparing new study applications and amendments, overseeing contracting arrangements and confirming proposed studies are appropriately costed and resourced. They will form effective relationships with Trust and University Research & Development offices and will line manage a small research administration team. They will also provide mentorship and training to other multi-disciplinary research delivery staff, including clinical research practitioners, nurses, midwives, radiographers and other scientific and technical staff and students.

Within the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine (FoLSM), the School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences is a cutting-edge research and teaching School dedicated to development, translation and clinical application within medical imaging and computational modelling technologies. Our objective is to facilitate research and teaching guided by clinical questions and is aimed at novelty, understanding of physiology and pathophysiology as well as development of new diagnostic tools and therapies. In this way, basic science can be rapidly translated into clinical applications (and vice versa). The School consists of eight research departments: Cardiovascular Imaging, Cancer Imaging, Early Life Imaging, Imaging Chemistry & Biology, Biomedical Computing, Surgical & Interventional Engineering, Imaging Physics & Engineering and Digital Twins for Healthcare.
The Research Department of Early Life Imaging performs cutting-edge research dedicated to the development and use of the most advanced medical imaging (in particular MRI scanning) and computational methods. Ultimately, our vision is to develop new ways to diagnose, understand and treat illnesses that affect the human brain, heart and body as they develop during the crucial period around birth so that we can improve outcomes for children. Placed uniquely within St Thomas Hospital London, we are able to perform truly translational research, which extends from basic science to use in the hospital with patients.

Job summary
The role involves providing comprehensive trial coordination and data management support for cancer clinical trials within the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). This support may span various tumour sites and include radiotherapy trials.
As an integral member of the CTU research team, the trial coordinator will collaborate closely with all stakeholders. The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of trial coordination, supporting the clinical team throughout the trial process.
This position demands initiative, precision, and meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate will be expected to represent the Trust with professionalism at all times. Main duties of the job
In collaboration with clinical colleagues, coordinate potential studies progressing through the BHOC Trial Steering Group process, while also managing the existing delegated portfolio.
- Liaise with relevant support departments to secure necessary approvals.
- Communicate with sponsors and the Research and Development (R&D) team to ensure the submission of appropriate Health Research Authority (HRA) packs for approval.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive study site file.
- Contribute to iCT costings for commercial studies, where applicable.
- Obtain all necessary HRA submission documents from sponsors for local approval, including Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and ethics documentation, patient information sheets, consent forms, and any other required setup documents.
- Procure blood sample kits, documentation, and courier information.
- Compile and submit data requests regarding radiology equipment and quality assurance.
- Coordinate study initiation meetings.
- Ensure that all relevant contracts are obtained, agreed upon, and signed by the appropriate Trust departments, such as legal and R&D.

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead our Information Governance and Complaints team. Job summary
We are looking for an experienced manager to lead our Information Governance and Complaints team. This role is responsible for overseeing a team with a range of responsibilities and experience levels, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard, supporting staff development, and managing team performance and priorities. Strong line management experience is essential, as the postholder will play a key role in creating an effective, well-supported team.
Alongside team leadership, the role is responsible for managing complaints, Freedom of Information requests, data protection matters and wider information governance activities. Main duties of the job

- Manage and investigate complaints relating to HRA services, procedures and research activity, ensuring they are handled fairly and within agreed timescales.

Job summary
Quality Assurance and Testing is an important part of the delivery of digital systems within the HRA. We have a team of skilled test professionals who make sure quality is delivered in the most effective way. We are looking to add automation engineering skills to our existing team as we value automating as much of the test effort as possible allowing our team of specialists to undertake better evaluations of the overall product set.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will create and drive the automated test engineering approach within the RSP working closely with the Head of Test and others in the Agile development team. You will determine and implement automation approaches using Playwright(typescript) to assure, measure and build quality into every phase of the software life cycle. This involves developing or enhancing automation frameworks that help deliver scalable tests which are faster, frequent, and continuous. Job also involves performing manual testing where automation is not suitable.
The interview will contain a mandatory technical test for playwright/NFT coding skills where you will be expected to write and share code in the interview. You should demonstrate your knowledge of this on your CV.

Job summary
Quality Assurance and Testing is an important part of the delivery of digital systems within the HRA. We have a team of skilled test professionals who make sure quality is delivered in the most effective way. We are looking to add automation engineering skills to our existing team as we value automating as much of the test effort as possible allowing our team of specialists to undertake better evaluations of the overall product set.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will create and drive the automated test engineering approach within the RSP working closely with the Head of Test and others in the Agile development team. You will determine and implement automation approaches using Playwright(typescript) to assure, measure and build quality into every phase of the software life cycle. This involves developing or enhancing automation frameworks that help deliver scalable tests which are faster, frequent, and continuous. Job also involves performing manual testing where automation is not suitable.
The interview will contain a mandatory technical test for playwright/NFT coding skills where you will be expected to write and share code in the interview. You should demonstrate your knowledge of this on your CV.

Main duties of the job
- Identify new and implement existing test automation frameworks
- Work on both functional and non-functional areas of complex system(s) built with multiple technologies (Microsoft, PEGA etc)
- Identify and raise awareness of defects, issues, risks arising from the automation test results

Job summary
The Approvals Service Directorate comprises distinct teams involved in the operational delivery of HRA Approval, including the Research Ethics Service in England and the Confidentiality Advice Team. It also incorporates the Technical Assurances, Approvals Support & Improvement and Coordination and Standardisation Teams.
The Approvals Directorate teams work to deliver the UK-wide Research Ethics Service, aligned Four Nations operational policy and process and HRA involvement in government driven initiatives.
This post is critical in supporting the delivery of the HRA's contribution to improvements and change in UK clinical research set-up and delivery. This supports the government's pledge to cut the time it takes to get a clinical trial set up to 150 days or less. The aim is to help improve the set-up and delivery of clinical research and the experience of commercial sponsors and sites by reducing unnecessary duplication and facilitating increased consistency wherever possible.
The post holder will be working with the wider team to support the successful roll out, implementation and adoption of an enhanced Technical Assurances (TA) service. The post holder's priority will be the administration of the process and engagement with the Technical Assurance reviewers to ensure a smooth and effective increase in registration of Technical Assurance reviewers whilst ensuring business continuity.
Main duties of the job
The Implementation Officer will:o Work with the Service Improvement Manager and Leads to register Pharmacy and Radiation professionals as reviewers across relevant NHS/HSC organisations, in line with existing requirements.o Manage the end-to-end registration of new reviewers, following the defined process and escalating risks and issues. o Support service improvement and redesign across Technical Assurance, Improvement, Operations and Coordination and Standardisation, implementing protocols to improve TA reviewer recruitment.o Work with the Service Improvement Manager and Professional Experts ensuring they are connected to relevant meetings and national groups where potential reviewers will be identified to sign up to the reviewer pool. Work with the Service Improvement Manager, experts and teams to support them in implementing solutions to any barriers encountered with the recruitment of reviewers.o Log and respond to queries, liaising with relevant teams.o Work with TA experts and approvals teams to resolve local recruitment issues. Job summary
The Approvals Service Directorate comprises distinct teams involved in the operational delivery of HRA Approval, including the Research Ethics Service in England and the Confidentiality Advice Team. It also incorporates the Technical Assurances, Approvals Support & Improvement and Coordination and Standardisation Teams.
The Approvals Directorate teams work to deliver the UK-wide Research Ethics Service, aligned Four Nations operational policy and process and HRA involvement in government driven initiatives.
This post is critical in supporting the delivery of the HRA's contribution to improvements and change in UK clinical research set-up and delivery. This supports the government's pledge to cut the time it takes to get a clinical trial set up to 150 days or less. The aim is to help improve the set-up and delivery of clinical research and the experience of commercial sponsors and sites by reducing unnecessary duplication and facilitating increased consistency wherever possible.
The post holder will be working with the wider team to support the successful roll out, implementation and adoption of an enhanced Technical Assurances (TA) service. The post holder's priority will be the administration of the process and engagement with the Technical Assurance reviewers to ensure a smooth and effective increase in registration of Technical Assurance reviewers whilst ensuring business continuity.
Main duties of the job
The Implementation Officer will:o Work with the Service Improvement Manager and Leads to register Pharmacy and Radiation professionals as reviewers across relevant NHS/HSC organisations, in line with existing requirements.o Manage the end-to-end registration of new reviewers, following the defined process and escalating risks and issues. o Support service improvement and redesign across Technical Assurance, Improvement, Operations and Coordination and Standardisation, implementing protocols to improve TA reviewer recruitment.o Work with the Service Improvement Manager and Professional Experts ensuring they are connected to relevant meetings and national groups where potential reviewers will be identified to sign up to the reviewer pool. Work with the Service Improvement Manager, experts and teams to support them in implementing solutions to any barriers encountered with the recruitment of reviewers.o Log and respond to queries, liaising with relevant teams.o Work with TA experts and approvals teams to resolve local recruitment issues. Support service improvement options appraisals by analysing complex data, comparing approaches, and outlining implications.o Identify process risks and issues and report them to relevant leads to support improvement.o Report rollout and progress against agreed deliverables to relevant managers.o Provide verbal and written updates at HRA and UK-wide meetings, including guidance on registering as technical reviewers.

Clinical Research:

Job summary
We are seeking a Sponsorship Governance Facilitator to join the Sponsorship Team within the R&I Office at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
This is fantastic opportunity for an individual with clinical research management experience looking to take on a research governance role.
The post holder will provide advice and regulatory support to researchers from confirmation of grant application, through sponsorship and regulatory approval, initiation at sites, study conduct and close-down; ensuring studies meet regulatory requirements and other obligations as Sponsor, and working closely with investigators, project managers, internal research support services and external collaborating organisations throughout the lifecycle of a research study.
The study portfolio will include CTIMPs, device trials, surgical and interventional trials, basic science studies involving procedures with human participants, observational studies, qualitative research and studies working with tissue or data. The post holder will be required to work autonomously, managing their day-to-day workload and prioritising as needed.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the sponsor team, you will provide regulatory support and advice to researchers and collaborators throughout the lifecycle of a portfolio of research studies, supporting the Trust to meet its obligations as research sponsor.
Ensuring a risk-based and collaborative approach you will provide ongoing oversight of study progress and key performance indicators to ensure that studies within the portfolio meet key milestones and all regulatory reporting requirements.
You will be required to liaise with external collaborators funding agencies (including industry, charities, Department of Health & Social Care, NIHR), and other organisations and Trust departments as required.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organised and proficient in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, as well as having the ability to navigate complex and competing priorities.
This post holder will have a strong understanding of standards and legislation that govern research practice in the NHS.
