Job Summary:

To provide Physiotherapy assessment and treatment interventions for a specified service user group, to carry a caseload as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and to develop the Physiotherapy service provision within the setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To manage a caseload, using evidence based/client principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a variety of community-based settings.

To gain experience through involvement in CPD activities and on the job learning opportunities.

Clinical Responsibility

To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions, in collaboration with the service user, using appropriate interventions to achieve therapeutic goals.

To undertake Physiotherapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing all areas of complex physical health as appropriate with support where necessary.

To work with service users to identify Physiotherapy goals as part of the overall care plan.

To be responsible for the use of appropriate outcome measures in your clinical work to effectively evaluate physical outcomes for the service user and the Physiotherapy service.

To assess service users understanding of interventions, gain valid consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with service users who lack capacity to consent to treatment.

To maintain accurate and timely record keeping in line with legal, professional and Trust requirements.

To carry out assessments and manual treatments of service users with moderate physical effort and to comply with the Trusts Manual Handling Policy at all times.
