Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and efficient Receptionist who will join the Reception team in acting as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. The role involves providing a welcoming, professional, and efficient service, and a mixture of administrative duties that support the smooth day to day running of Reception.
Main duties of the job
The Receptionists acts as the first point of contact for patients and supports the smooth day to day running of the service by managing enquiries, appointments, and patient requests. The role involves accurate use of clinical systems, maintaining confidentiality, supporting patient navigation and triage processes, and supporting delivery of QOF, enhanced services, and local borough services. The role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and a patientfocused approach.

The following are the main duties and responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be a requirement to carry out other tasks which will be dependent upon factors such as workload, staffing levels and the needs of the practice:
- Acting as the first point of contact for patients, carers, visitors, and staff, providing a friendly, professional, and patientfocused service.
- Handling telephone calls, online requests (via the practices online consultation provider, PATCHS), and facetoface enquiries efficiently, ensuring patients are supported and signposted appropriately.

Job summary
We are seeking a friendly, organised and patient- focused Receptionist to join our team at Hatherton Medical Centre, part of Umbrella Medical in Walsall.
This is a varied and rewarding front-line role where you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and professional service both face-to-face and over the telephone. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with clinicians and colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care.
The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment. You will need to be adaptable, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Both part-time and full-time applications will be considered. The role involves working scheduled shifts between 7:15am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is essential and shift patterns will be allocated based on service requirements. Once agreed, the successful candidate will work a regular, set shift pattern each week. Applicants should only apply if they are able to work within the advertised operating hours, including covering opening and closing times. (8:00am - 6:30pm)
Although you will predominantly be based at our Hatherton Medical Centre site, you may be asked to cover at any of the Umbrella Practices for training & development or to cover in times of sickness or annual leave.
