An exciting opportunity has arisen for an additional Medical Secretary to join us for 3 days per week at Howden Medical Centre, expanding our current well-established team.
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive, efficient, and accurate medical secretarial and referral service to the practice, supporting GPs and other clinicians and ensuring that patient referrals and clinical correspondence are processed safely, accurately, and within appropriate timescales. The postholder will be able to manage their workload with minimal supervision, and ideally have a good working knowledge of General Practice, NHS referral pathways, and referral processes, however full training will be given for the right candidate.
About us
Howden Medical Centre is a Semi-Rural Practice with a steadily increasing patient population which currently stands at 8300 patients.
We have a strong friendly and supportive team of GPs, Nurses, Admin staff and Receptionists and a very open, inclusive and team culture. Our staff are dedicated, have great attention to detail, are flexible and adaptable, and work very much as a whole team.
We are a member practice of CYGNET PCN with PCN staff working with us, as members of the team, on site at the practice including Paramedics, ANPs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers and MSK Practitioners.
Howden Medical Centre is a Teaching Practice with Registrars and HYMS Students on site.

1. Referrals Management
- Process referrals generated by GPs and other clinicians accurately, consistently, and promptly.

Cygnet PCN is looking to recruit a Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner to join our busy primary care network.We are looking for a part time Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner (25 to 30 hours).
The Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioneroperates at an advanced level of clinical practice with skills to assess, diagnose, treat and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) problems and undifferentiated conditions. This will involve seeing patients, without prior referral from their GP, to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan thus streamlining pathways of care.
A Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner works independently in clinical practice and does not require day to day supervision. Patients can either self-refer or be referred by the PCNs members.
Main duties of the job
- Performing advanced assessment and clinical reasoning for patients with diverse presentations and complex musculoskeletal conditions
- Develop and deliver an individualised management/treatment programme.
- Following assessment, the post holder will be responsible for making therapeutic and/or clinical diagnoses and treating their own caseload of specialised and complex patients/clients and maintaining associated records
- The post holder will assist in contributing to the planning, coordination, development and evaluation of the service
- Develop your clinical and leadership skills whilst working with a diverse caseloads.

Our Specialist Musculoskeletal Practitioner is to be the first point of clinical contact for patients presenting with MSK conditions or symptoms, providing the patient with the primary assessment, diagnosis and management options for their condition.
Use advanced clinical practice skills and clinical reasoning to provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment support to patients who present with complex musculoskeletal conditions and/or multiple pathologies and/or mental health and/or pain management needs.

Lead on and develop effective communication between primary care services/GP practices and other relevant care providers.
Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with MDTs, orthopaedic and physiotherapy consultant teams in the community and acute settings.
Where appropriate, develop relationships with wider health and social care agencies, for example mental health teams, local authorities, third sector providers and patient groups.
Provide leadership and support on MSK clinical and service development across the PCN, alongside learning opportunities for the whole multi-disciplinary team (MDT) within primary care.
Provide highly specialist advice on issues ranging from the provision of expert opinion on individual patient treatment options to be a primary contributor to MSK services and related pathway development.

We are looking for a part time Social Prescriber (30 hours) to join our growing team. The applicant needs to be friendly, engaging, and empathetic individual to work within General Practice to support and empower people to take control of their health and wellbeing. Social Prescribers work 1:1 with people, focusing on what matters to me and building a trusting relationship with the person referred to them. We are building strong partnerships with Adult Social Care, Specialist Mental Health Services and both local and national charities. Job summary
Howden Medical Centre is looking to appoint a part-time medical receptionist to work Wednesday PM, all day Thursday and Friday AM. The successful candidate would also be required in addition to this, to provide cover for colleagues sickness and holidays.
You will need to be motivated, able to work in a very busy environment and as part of a team. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential as are good IT and communication skills.

Yorkshire Health Partners (YHP) is expanding its Dermatology Service and we are looking for an experienced and motivated Specialist Dermatology Nurse to take on a key clinical leadership role within our multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine advanced clinical practice, including prescribing and minor procedures, with team leadership and service development, helping to deliver high-quality, accessible dermatology care across the region.
In this role, you will act as a clinical leader and specialist practitioner, delivering and shaping dermatology services.
18.75 hours per week (will include weekend working). If able to fulfill requirements of full job description salary will be £28,684.50 per annum. Locations potentially across whole of East Riding of Yorkshire
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will act as a clinical leader and specialist practitioner, delivering and shaping dermatology services. You will:
- Deliver autonomous nurse-led dermatology clinics including assessment diagnosis and management
- Independently prescribe (where qualified) and manage topical systemic and selected advanced therapies
- Perform minor dermatological procedures
- Manage patients with complex and chronic skin conditions, ensuring safe and effective care
- Provide expert clinical advice to stakeholders
- Provide day-to-day leadership and line management to the dermatology nursing team
- Support staff development through supervision, mentorship, and appraisal
- Promote a culture of clinical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
