This is an opportunity to join the Trauma & Orthopaedics Team at Glangwili General Hospital.
Applications are invited from efficient and suitably qualified individuals for the post of a full time Band 4 Medical Secretary within the T&O Team based at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen on a permanent basis.
Main duties of the job
Working 37.5 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to support the delivery of a comprehensive and quality secretarial service to the Consultants and their teams.
You will undertake a broad range of administrative and secretarial duties, including the receipt and distribution of correspondence, audio transcription, and the preparation of highly sensitive letters and reports, ensuring strict confidentiality is maintained at all times. The role also involves the accurate operation of the Health Board's patient database systems.The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, alongside a flexible and adaptable approach to an evolving workload. The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and apply tact and diplomacy in a professional healthcare environment is required, as are well-developed communication skills.Applicants must possess demonstrable experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email systems. Proven secretarial expertise, including audio typing skills, is required, together with a sound understanding of medical terminology.

We are a well-established community mental health team.The community mental health team work with people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The role of the support worker is to be part of/compliment the community mental health multi-disciplinary team in delivering interventions and support to promote the recovery people experiencing mental health difficulties.
The role of the support worker within the community mental health team is varied and there are opportunities for staff to develop skills insupporting therapeutic interventions, working under the supervision of a team of experienced senior mental health practitioners.The team includes a number of very experienced support workers who the successful applicant will work alongside.
Main duties of the job
Supporting senior mental health practitioners to deliver responsive and effective care during assessment and treatment to a designated caseload of individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.]

You will work with people experiencing a wide range of conditions, including respiratory and cardiac illness, frailty, and traumatic brain injuries as part of the trauma network pathway. Supported by a friendly and collaborative team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while championing a "home first" approach.
As Clinical Lead, you will provide professional guidance and support to a skilled team of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Support Staff. Alongside your clinical expertise, you will contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, workforce wellbeing, and professional development, helping the team continue to deliver outstanding care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Haematologist with an interest in lymphoma and General Haematology to join the team at Withybush General hospital. With a newly developed job plan for this position, offering a dynamic and rewarding role, we welcome all applicants to apply. We are looking for a highly committed and motivated individual to join our Haematology team as we start to introduce subspecialisation into the health board. Our dedicated and forward-looking team of 7 consultants provide a comprehensive haematology service in the four hospitals in an area of outstanding beauty. This post will introduce a Lymphoma subspecialty to our team as part of a redesign of haematology services across the Health Board and will continue to develop as part of the wider transformation process. Support for the post includes Associate Specialists, Specialty Doctors, Clinical Fellow as well as foundation Trainees. The team also includes Haematology CNS team and Specialist pharmacists.
Our staff are at the heart of the quality of our service and are looking to add to our numbers. We are looking for someone to bring additional expertise and a passion to provide excellence.
Main duties of the job
Clinical - The appointee should be able to demonstrate experience in the management of Lymphoma and General Haematology. The successful candidate will develop this subspecialty across the health board and working alongside the generalist consultants.
Inpatients - The appointee will participate in an attending and on-call rota for the Haverfordwest site. At the three peripheral sites, the contribution is consultative to the local medical team.
Outpatients - The appointee will be expected to participate in 3-4 clinics per week, within Lymphoma and General Haematology. Consideration for other subspecialist workload could be considered, depending on applicant's experience to date.
There is a weekly health board wide MDT and opportunities to join other MDTs from all Wales MDTs.
The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
- The appointee is required to have full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
- The appointee will contribute to all aspects of the general haematology and haemo-oncology work including participation in departmental meetings and on-call rota.
- Clinics in other hospital sites will be required (virtual clinics are an option).

An opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant Haematologist to join the team Hywel Dda UHB. We are offering a dynamic and rewarding role located in a beautiful part of Wales. We are looking for a highly committed and motivated individual to join our Haematology team who will be able to bring some subspecialisation into the wider team. The health board operates over four sites in west Wales. This post will be covering Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth while also supporting the wider team.
Our team of 7 consultants provide a comprehensive haematology service in the four hospitals in an area of outstanding beauty. This post will provide support for a wide range of patient groups. This hospital is our smallest of the four and the team are spread between the four sites. Support for the post includes Specialty Doctor, Haematology CNS team and Specialist Haematology pharmacists.
Our staff are at the heart of the quality of our service and are looking to add to our numbers. We are looking for someone to bring additional expertise and a passion to provide excellence.
Main duties of the job
Clinical - The appointee should be able to demonstrate experience in the management of all Haematological conditions. The successful candidate will be able to develop a subspecialty across the health board and working alongside the other consultants to contribute to subspecialisation teams.
Inpatients - The appointee will be expected to consult on all inpatients with the local medical team looking after them. Additional teaching on management of haematology patients will be essential. Liaising with the Acute Oncology Service which covers haematology in-patients
Outpatients - The appointee will be expected to participate in 3-4 clinics per week. Consideration for other subspecialist workload could be considered, depending on applicant's experience to date. There an increasing number of patients returning from the tertiary centres following treatments that return home between treatment cycles that need additional input from the local haematology team. BMA's are currently done weekly. Phone clinics are encouraged given the rural area and inability to travel for our patients.
Laboratory - The appointee will be expected to help out with advice and input on blood films and reporting bone marrow reports
There is a weekly health board wide MDT and opportunities to join other MDTs from all Wales MDTs (Lymphoma, Myeloma, Myeloid).

The post holder will support the Lead Practice Educator to implement the education plan for theatre services. They will ensure service delivery is of a high professional standard in line with Local Organisational and National and Regulatory guidelines.
As a professional Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), the Clinical Practice Educator is responsible for the provision of specialist advice, precision, accuracy and prolonged concentration to patients, nursing and medical staff when providing theatre related pre, peri and post-operative care and education within the theatre environment.
You will work alongside theatre practitioners clinically to provide education within the theatre environment.
The Clinical Practice Educator will work autonomously as a specialist and accessible professional role model for registered nurses (RN), operating department practitioners (ODP), nursing support workers (NSW) and theatre support staff groups.
Main duties of the job
Support in creating an active learning culture for all staff. Work with the lead practice educator to formulate plans for meeting clinical educational needs of individuals or a group.
Facilitate the delivery and evaluation of formal / informal teaching sessions and collaborate with stakeholders for work-based learning programmes including software programmes.
Support with initiatives that result in changes to existing practice and systems of working that require change in line with national and professional standards.
Support the development and update of training induction programmes which support the development of RN's, ODP's, NSW's and theatre support staff groups. Identify skills and knowledge gaps and provide appropriate feedback to support progress.
To ensure Theatre remains an innovative practice learning environment, support the University students ensuring they are supervised by designated staff in line with NMC and HCPC requirements.
Support the allocation and development of all new starters and novice learners ensuring the timely completion of induction workbooks and reviews, liaising with the line managers and senior leads for theatre.

Job summary
The Acute Medicine Department at Prince Philip Hospital is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated consultant in Acute and General Medicine. The post is substantive and is full time. This is a new post, joining colleagues in a dynamic and forward-looking department to develop a comprehensive 7-day Acute Medicine service across Prince Philip Hospital and the wider Health Board.
The successful candidate will lead on the medical assessment and treatment of "front door" patients, including the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) medical patients and the provision of "hot" specialty clinics. They will also be involved in the development and strategy of the new Urgent Care Centre.
We seek a colleague interested in Acute Medicine as their primary commitment but will support candidates wanting to continue clinical interests or work in liaison roles with other medical specialties.
The post is primarily based at Prince Philip Hospital, in Llanelli with the opportunity to work closely with colleagues from across Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide with other consultant colleagues a service in Acute Medicine to oversee medical patient care within AMAU and Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) on a rotational basis as well as supporting the development of sub-speciality interest if applicable. There is also an expectation to participate in the medical on-call rota at Prince Philip Hospital on a 1:11 basis.
