We are recruiting for two full-time fixed-term positions.
Job Summary
It takes all types of people to help save and improve lives. As a Donor Carer with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), youll be at the heart of the donor experience, supporting the people whose generosity helps provide life-saving blood and blood products to patients across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to build a career in healthcare, with comprehensive training and ongoing development to help you grow your skills and confidence. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll make a meaningful contribution every day by delivering excellent care, creating positive donor experiences and helping ensure a safe and reliable blood supply for those who need it most.
The role involves working a variety of hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays but no night shifts!
You will be working on a shift basis but, the normal hours for this role are 4 days per week/ 8 days per fortnight. Early shifts start at 08:00 and finish 17:00. Late shifts start at 11:00 and finish 20:00, this will be 8.33 hour days.
Main duties of the job
Provide a caring and professional experience that helps donors feel welcome, informed and supported throughout their donation journey.
Learn and develop clinical skills, including donor screening, haemoglobin testing and blood collection procedures, supported by comprehensive training.
Monitor donor wellbeing and provide appropriate care and advice before, during and after donation.
Help maintain the highest standards of quality and safety by following clinical procedures and regulatory requirements.
Accurately record donor and donation information using electronic and manual systems.
Encourage donors to return and continue making a life-saving contribution through future donations.
Work closely with colleagues in a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional donor care and efficient donor sessions.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by embracing learning, developing new skills and supporting colleagues.

Main duties of the job
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care including but not limited to:-

Job summary
The post is one of a multi-disciplined team of technicians within the Electronic and Bio-Medical Engineering department concerned with the provision of services that are aimed at ensuring that medical equipment operates effectively and safely with the minimum of downtime. To calibrate and maintain medical equipment and devices for use in patient care.
The post holder provides support to various electrical, electronic, mechanical and oxygen therapy equipment which includes the planned preventative maintenance, repair, calibration and acceptance testing of a wide range of medical equipment, including life support, patient monitoring, patient therapy, diagnostic, ventilatory and anaesthetic equipment which at times will be 'patient connected'.
The post holder liaises with Consultant Medical and Nursing ward staff, associated Healthcare Professionals and technical staff to identify faults and repair equipment, including working in clinical areas with intermittent patient contact.
Main duties of the job
Use appropriate test equipment and to take responsibility for its use and safety, majority of which is highly specialised, expensive and complex.
Reference the correct protocol for type and range of equipment.
Complete planned preventative maintenance to specified schedule.
To attend all wards/departments within the Trust, Primary Care Trusts and other organisations on a regular basis to perform equipment maintenance as per planned preventative maintenance schedule and when necessary, to carry out non-schedule repairs. This may involve frequent movement of heavy items of medical equipment.
Clarify all issues affecting the required maintenance and their impact on the delivery of clinical services.
To co-operate in the implementation of departmental policies and procedures as required and to propose changes to procedures that may impact on other professions.
To act on relevant safety notices received from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), engineering updates and modifications with the appropriate course of action and liaise with other healthcare professionals to ensure their timely execution.

The Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) plays a vital role within the multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Team, delivering expert clinical care, education, and holistic support to patients diagnosed with lung cancer.

Job summary
The post holder will work as an autonomous Advanced First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP), providing expert MSK assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical management as a first point of contact for patients, including those with undifferentiated or complex presentations, independently determining appropriate management and onward referral pathways without prior GP consultation.
The role requires clinical leadership and service management for the FCP team, supporting effective day-to-day delivery, clinical governance, workforce and professional development, quality improvement and service development. The post holder will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, GP practices, professional leads, primary care management and wider system partners to optimise patient pathways, improve outcomes, demonstrate service impact and contribute to contractual requirements, quality standards and key performance indicators.

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join our Hepatology Pharmacy team to help deliver a progressive and forward thinking pharmacy service to our liver patients.The postholder does not require specific experience in hepatology but they need a willingness to learn, training will be provided. They will work with the Principal Hepatology Pharmacist to lead, manage and develop a high quality, patient focused clinical pharmacy service for hepatology patients.This varied role provides an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the management of both inpatients and outpatients with a range of hepatological conditions. They will ensure high levels of patient safety and experience and ensure clinical and financial metrics are met.The postholder will contribute to the World Health Organisations Hepatitis C elimination target of 2030 by working in outreach hepatitis C clinics in local Drug and Alcohol centres and community locations. They will take part in testing events with the Viral Hepatitis Team to identify patients with hepatitis C for treatment.The postholder will promote the field of hepatology to colleagues and junior staff through education and training and have the opportunity to participate nationally in the British Hepatology Pharmacy Group.The St George's Hepatology Team have achieved Improving Quality in Liver Services (IQILS) level 2 with the hepatology pharmacy team getting a special mention for the exemplar service provided to our patients.
Main duties of the job
The main day to day responsibilities of the post include:
- Working as an integral part of the STHepNet Viral Hepatitis Team to provide hepatitis C treatment to patients in secondary care and the wider community.
- Providing a clinical pharmacy service to hepatology inpatients, working as part of the MDT in consultant-led ward rounds.- Providing and developing pharmacist-led hepatology outpatient clinics using independent prescribing- Ensuring safety, patient experience, clinical and financial metrics are met.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Practitioner Psychologist to join our Neurodevelopmental Pathway (Autism Assessment Service) specialist psychology service. The role will involve assessing children presenting with neurodevelopmental needs across all sectors of care within the Birmingham catchment area.
The post holder will be part of the multidisciplinary team in the Neurodevelopmental Hubs and liaise closely with colleagues in education.
They will also supervise and support the psychological assessments and therapy provided by other psychologists and others who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
They will support a culture of research and utilise research skills for audit, policy and service developments and propose and implement policy changes within the Service and the broader multidisciplinary team. They will also be highly visible and, accessible and a figure to whom staff, patients and their families, can turn to for assistance, advice and support.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide specialist psychological assessment of children based upon theappropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex psychological datafrom a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychologicalassessment, self-reported measures, rating scales, direct and indirectstructured observations and semi-structured interviews with children, familymembers and others involved in the child's care.2.
