Job summary

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Assistant Practice Manager to join our friendly and supportive Practice team.
Working closely with the Practice Manager, GP Partners and wider Practice team, the Assistant Practice Manager will play an important role in supporting the effective day-to-day running of the Practice. This is a varied role with responsibility across HR, operations, finance, compliance, IT and service development, providing an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across different areas of Practice management.
The successful candidate will be well organised, approachable and able to work confidently both independently and as part of a team. They will have a practical, solutions-focused approach and be committed to supporting staff and delivering a high-quality service to our patients.
Main duties of the job
- Support the Practice Manager with the effective day-to-day management and operation of the Practice.
- Provide support across HR processes, including recruitment, inductions, appraisals, absence management, staff records and leavers.
- Support quality, compliance and contractual requirements, including CQC, QoF, Enhanced Services, data quality and annual Practice returns.
- Coordinate staff training and compliance, maintaining accurate records and monitoring outstanding requirements.
- Support the management of patient complaints and Patient Participation Group (PPG) activities.
- Coordinate estates, IT, telephone systems and Smartcard administration, working with relevant internal and external providers.

Job summary
Due to the retirement of our current Practice Manager, the Menston and Guiseley Practice are looking to recruit an experienced and proactive Practice Manager to join our friendly, supportive and dedicated team. The successful applicant will provide strong leadership across the operational, HR, financial and business management functions of the Practice, supported by an Assistant Practice Manager.
Working closely with the GP Partners and the wider Practice team, the Practice Manager will play a key role in ensuring the Practice operates effectively, continually improves services for patients, remains compliant with NHS requirements and supports the ongoing development and growth of the business.
The role requires excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills, together with a good understanding of general practice and NHS contractual requirements. Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience of managing finance and budgets and experience using SystmOne are also essential.
Main duties of the job
Provide effective day-to-day leadership and management of the Practice, working closely with the GP Partners on strategic development, business planning and growth.
Lead and oversee all aspects of HR and staff management, including recruitment, performance management, staff development, employee relations and workforce planning.
Take overall responsibility for the financial management and sustainability of the Practice, including budgets, income, expenditure, financial reporting and contractual income.
Ensure the Practice meets its GMS contractual, NHS, CQC, governance, health and safety and regulatory requirements.
Oversee patient services, including complaints, the PPG and the development and implementation of Practice policies and procedures.
Identify opportunities to maximise Practice income, including enhanced services, funding opportunities and reimbursement schemes.

We are currently advertising for a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia. This post is for 10 programmed activities. The post holder will be expected to participate in a 1:8 on-call rota initially on the intensive care unit. A breakdown of the draft job plan for the post is included in the information pack.
The post offers the opportunity to work in a small, ACSA accredited department in an award-winning hospital in an area of outstanding natural beauty within the heart of England in the rolling countryside near Skipton and Ilkley, close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The post-holder must have completed at least three years of postgraduate training in the specialty of Anaesthesia and must have basic competencies in obstetric anaesthesia and critical care medicine. Or must have completed three years of single stem intensive care training and have basic anaesthetic competencies.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join a department of 24 consultants, 12 specialty doctors/associate specialists and up to 12 rotating residents from the Yorkshire Deanery. We encourage involvement in our existing quality improvement projects and as well as new ideas for improving or developing new work streams. The department has recently been awarded Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA) having been commended by ACSA in many aspects including team communication, simulation training and Specialty Doctor career development.
The initial job plan is for 10 PAs with opportunity for extra PAs (up to 12 in total) to include in hours and resident out of hours working on the critical care 1:8 rota. Time is allocated within job plans for any additional responsibilities in addition to SPA time. Professional leave is available for agreed additional responsibilities in addition to study leave.

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Practice Nurse, 24 hours per week over 3 days, to join our friendly and supportive team
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate having regard to current training and the NMC Code of Conduct.
Although the practice does not participate in extended hours there will be a requirement to offer morning and late afternoon appointments.
Main duties of the job
This varied role includes but is not limited to:
- new patient registration checks, wound care, phlebotomy, pathology requests, vaccinations, BP monitoring, ECG recording, spirometry, urinalysis, health checks and monitoring, chaperoning and assist our GPs with womens health clinics, childhood immunisations, administering injections, ear syringing
- Administrative and professional duties such as processing and management of laboratory samples, monitoring and recording vaccine/cold chain storage, ensuring all patient data is accurate, legible and up to date and that all administrative tasks relating to a patient care are completed to a high standard
- Practice duties such as ensuring all clinical rooms are fully stocked with the appropriate medical equipment and supplies, engaging and contributing to team/practice meetings and being professional towards patients and colleagues to ensure a good working environment

Job summary
We are looking to appoint a receptionist to join our busy GP practice based over two sites, who will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors as well as carrying out general office management tasks.
You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.

What you will bring to the role
The Jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward/department. They will provide professional, clinical, managerial leadership and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining a ward or department’s philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery. Through managing the administrative and financial aspects of the ward, the jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources. The role will be 70% non-clinical management and 30% clinical management. The job holder will manage the administrative and financial aspects of the ward and will ensure cost effective use of resources and deployment of staff. Current services comprise of the day surgery unit with overnight cover on Mondays and the management/service delivery of the Day Treatment Unit. The role requires direct management of approximately 25.65 whole time equivalent staff both registered and unregistered. The jobholder is responsible for the department clinical budget.
Qualifications - Essential Criteria
Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for children’s areas) (Level 1 or 2)
