We're seeking a motivated and dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic team delivering high-quality pharmacy services across Critical Care, Theatres, and Pain Services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with lead pharmacists and a multidisciplinary team across multiple sites, supporting a diverse patient population. Alongside developing your clinical expertise, you'll also have the opportunity to grow your leadership and management skills through:
- Active participation in multidisciplinary ward and board rounds, promoting safe, effective, and patient-centred prescribing and medicines use.
- Involvement in clinical audits, research, and service evaluation.
- Supporting the design and implementation of new pharmacy services, guidelines, and policies.
- Assisting Lead Pharmacists and Divisions in managing medication expenditure.
- Contributing to the education, training, and supervision of pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff.
Our Trust hosts three major Intensive Therapy Units (ITUs) across St Mary's, Hammersmith, and Charing Cross Hospitals, with approximately 95 beds and care provided to nearly 1,700 patients annually.

Main duties of the job
- Provide a high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service to critical care patients.
- Ensure the safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of drugs.
- Identify and promote best practice.
- Actively contribute to the management of drug expenditure through analysis and reporting.
- Actively contribute to the management of Payment by Results (PBR) excluded drugs.
- Assist in incident reporting, investigation and implementation of actions/changes where needed.
- Assist with managing supply problems.
- Actively contribute to the development and monitoring of policies and guidelines.
- Carry out audits as required.
- Undertake training of other pharmacists on aspects of critical care.
- Undertake education and training to the pharmacy department, ICU nurses, ICU medical staff, theatres staff as required.

We have a new post opportunity for a highly-skilled, and enthusiastic research professional to come and lead our Volatile Organic Complex research portfolio of high-volume, fast paced observational studies. The successful candidate will be leading a team of Clinical Research Practitioners and Research Nurses to deliver a portfolio of observational clinical research studies, spread over all 3 hospital sites. As well as an active role in recruitment and team leadership the post holder will also take on light trial management duties for the study sponsor - Imperial College London, including assistance with NHS costings and PPIE activities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for Haematology. Our cancer services based at Hammersmith Hospital offers a unique opportunity to work in a leading specialist cancer centre. We offer the most up-to-date chemotherapy, stem cell transplant and CAR-T treatments, which leads to one of the best survival rates in the country. We also treat multiple red cell conditions and are providing stem cell transplants to treat sickle cell disease. In this specialist role, you will be a senior therapist providing high quality occupational therapy, to inpatients with both red and white cell haematology conditions.
We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking and passionate therapist with excellent leadership, communication skills and advanced clinical skills, to join the team and deliver high quality, timely care. You will possess the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. It is important that the successful applicant is a team player with a positive outlook, has enthusiasm and has the ability to learn and develop new skills.
You must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and experience in Haematology, possessing highly specialist assessment, treatment and risk management skills. The ability to work autonomously, but also well within a multi-disciplinary team is essential, as is the ability to promote the role of Therapies and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
Main duties of the job
- To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Allergy Dietitian to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, working across paediatric and adult allergy services. This unique post offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise across the full patient journey, with a particular focus on supporting adolescents as they transition from paediatric to adult care.
You will provide a highly specialist dietetic service, working with the Clinical Lead Dietitian for Paediatric Allergy, Adult Allergy Consultants and wider multidisciplinary teams to deliver, develop and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based care. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative practitioner with significant experience in paediatric or adult allergy, excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in developing expertise across both age groups.
You will act as an expert resource, support staff education, contribute to audit and service development, and help shape allergy dietetic service provision for children, young people and adults. The post is based within well-established teams at St Mary's Hospital, with supervision, training and development from both paediatric and adult allergy services.

Main duties of the job
- As a Band 7 Specialist Dietitian in Allergy the post holder will be responsible for performing advanced assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex medical, physical and psychological conditions, to develop and deliver an individualised management/treatment programme, relevant to specialism.
- Following assessment the post holder will be responsible for making therapeutic and/or clinical diagnoses and treating their own caseload of specialised and complex patients/clients and maintaining associated records.
- The post holder may lead a team and be responsible for providing an advanced standard of care to patients at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, which covers a multi-cultural and diverse population.
- The post holder will supervise the work of other more junior staff and support workers.
- The post holder may be rotational and will be expected to work across all sites of the ICHNT.
- The post holder will assist the Clinical Lead in contributing to the planning, coordination, development and evaluation of the service.

Our Clinical Education Team is dedicated to improving patient care and experience through the development of clinical skills, teamwork and evidence-based practice. We deliver high-quality education through workplace coaching, competency-based programmes and study events across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
We are seeking a Band 7 Clinical Practice Educator to join our supportive team, delivering education across St Mary's, Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. This varied and rewarding role offers opportunities to contribute to service improvement projects and educational initiatives within an Academic Health Science Centre and Pathway to Excellence accredited hospitals.
The role requires excellent leadership, communication and clinical skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and support others while maintaining high standards of patient care. Although formal teaching experience is not essential, you should have a passion for education, a commitment to improving surgical patient care, and a willingness to develop as an educator.
You will need to be a Registered Nurse with substantial experience in a surgical setting, current experience leading a clinical team, and some critical care skills. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, reflective, able to work independently and collaboratively, and thrive in a dynamic environment while contributing positively to our high-performing team.
Main duties of the job
- The Clinical Practice Educator is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive learning environment that supports the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Working closely with Ward Managers, Matrons and the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will provide clinical education and leadership through bedside coaching, supervision and staff development across a variety of clinical settings.
- Approximately 80% of the role is spent in the clinical environment, supporting registered and unregistered staff to develop competence, confidence and professional practice. The post holder acts as an expert practitioner, role model and educational resource, promoting reflective practice and continuous learning.
- The role includes designing, delivering and evaluating education and competency-based training programmes, ensuring learning is inclusive and responsive to individual and cultural needs. Join the Leslie Brent Laboratory at Hammersmith Hospital as a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist. We provide a specialist UKAS-accredited Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) service supporting renal and bone-marrow transplant programmes across the Trust and beyond.
Working with state-of-the-art HPLC-MS/MS systems, you will contribute to routine diagnostics, quality management, service development and research activities.

Main duties of the job
- Perform specialist scientific and technical work within the Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) service, requiring a high degree of accuracy, judgement, and practical expertise.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) Laboratory as a Band 8a Technical Lead and Deputy Laboratory Manager on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.
This is a key leadership role within a specialist clinical laboratory service, providing technical expertise, operational management support, and professional leadership to the TDM team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Laboratory Manager to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, responsive and patient-focused service, supporting the monitoring of immunosuppressants, and other therapeutic drugs.
The post holder will provide day-to-day technical leadership, lead service development initiatives and contribute to strategic planning to ensure the laboratory continues to meet accreditation standards and evolving clinical needs.

- Communicate service issues, incidents, risks, and potential service failures to the Laboratory Manager and/or Laboratory Director.

We and pleased to announce that we have opportunities (substantive and fixed term contracts) for enthusiastic OTs to join our Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotation which operates across our 3 main sites: St Mary's hospital - the major trauma centre for the North West London network, Charing Cross hospital which is a specialist stroke and neuroscience centre and Hammersmith hospital where the specialist heart attack centre is situated.
Rotations take place every six months with rotations in; elective orthopaedics, orthopaedic trauma, surgical rehab and cardiology, renal medicine, stroke, neurology & neurosurgery, respiratory medicine, acute medicine, major trauma, Charing Cross Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (CNRU), medicine for the elderly, elderly rehabilitation, community (falls team or bedded rehab), hand therapy and oncology. Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is one of the UK's leading University Teaching Hospitals at the cutting edge of clinical practice and research.
The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Imperial was formed as a result of the merger between the departments at St Mary's and Hammersmith Hospitals in 2010. The recognised areas of expertise in those departments has been retained and we offer all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery except for cardiopulmonary transplantation. There is specific expertise in complex aortic surgery, minimally- invasive surgery and mitral valve repair.In thoracic surgery, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (via multi-, bi-, or uniport) is routine for anatomical and lesser lung resection as well as in surgery for pleural and mediastinal pathology.
Following recent expansion, there are 4 substantive Consultant Thoracic Surgeons and 6 substantive Consultant Cardiac Surgeons at Imperial. The department has a 2 Specialty Doctors (1 cardiac, 1 thoracic), 2 NTNs and 7 Trust SpRs. We have developed a unique nursing role (Advanced Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioners) to support resident doctors on the wards. The elective thoracic work is supported by a team of 5 Lung Specialist Nurses and 2 x Pre-assessment nurses. A Hospital-at-Night scheme operates out-of-hours. The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is run and staffed by the Directorate of Anaesthesia and Critical Care.
Main duties of the job
oPre-operative assessment and preparation of patients to undergo thoracic surgery, in outpatients, for urgent referrals (including emergency trauma cover at St Mary's site) and the specific cardiothoracic pre-assessment clinics
o Capacity to be a competent operating surgeon with direct or indirect supervision and also assisting the consultants in the operating theatres as required and providing training/supervision to more junior staff and Surgical Care Practitioners, as appropriate
o Continuing responsibilities for post-operative critical care of the patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgery and subsequent Level 0/1 care on the wards
o Post-operative follow-up of patients in the outpatient, chest drain or would clinics, working with where indicated
o Partaking in the middle-grade on-call rota
o The accurate and timely recording of clinical data, both written & electronic, as outlined in the Principles of Good Medical Practice described by the GMC, participation in clinical audit and familiarity with Trust IT and information systems
o Communicating effectively with both junior and senior medical colleagues, nursing staff (including Clinical Nurse Specialists for Lung and Cardiothoracic ANPs for ward care), HCSs/AHPs and other hospital staff. Particularly good communication skills with patients, their relatives and carers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Clinical Health Psychology and Neuropsychology team. The department is based at Charing Cross teaching hospital and provides services to the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT).
This post has been created as part of the continued development of the ICHT stroke services, which builds on our existing input into the Hyperacute and Acute Stroke Units. You will join two existing stroke psychologists to further develop the psychology input into the stroke wards.
Main duties of the job
This post provides opportunities for service development, staff consultation and training, and research and audit, as well as for direct clinical assessment and intervention. While the majority of the role involves inpatient work, the post offers the opportunity to be involved in an innovative outpatient follow-up clinic, which affords opportunities to provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and/or psychological interventions.
There are strong links to psychologists working in other parts of the stroke pathway including on a specialist neurorehabilitation ward, in community neurorehabilitation teams, and in outpatient settings, which provides opportunities for collaboration and shared learning. There is an active departmental CPD programme to support learning.
We are looking to recruit an HCPC-registered, clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist with existing experience of working in a directly relevant area.

Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the Respiratory Physiology team in the role of Assistant Clinical Physiologist (Band 3). The role is primarily based in our specialist sleep centre at Charing Cross Hospital, where the service provides comprehensive diagnostic testing for a wide range of sleep disorders.
There is also the potential for a rotation into the Lung Function departments across the different Trust sites. You will join a multidisciplinary team including consultants, clinical scientists, physiologists and administrators.
You will be responsible for high-quality data acquisition and recording of observations during overnight sleep studies, preparation and downloading of home testing equipment and supplying replacement parts for sleep therapeutic equipment. The role involves working night shifts 1 week in 4 on a rotational basis. In lung function you will perform a range of basic diagnostic tests and support the physiologist staff with more complex testing.
This is a specialist role and direct experience is not required as full training will be given, but some experience with patients would be an advantage. Excellent customer service skills, empathy and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
Main duties of the job
- To support patients undergoing overnight sleep studies
- To perform routine diagnostic tests in sleep and lung function under supervision
- To assist in the efficient delivery of the CPAP follow-up service by ensuring timely and accurate recording of observations
- To provide support to patients as required during their time in the department

We have an exciting opportunity for a Critical Care Band 7 Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team on the St Mary's site as part of the wider critical care therapy service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Our friendly department is full of opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic physiotherapist who wishes to progress specialist clinical expertise and leadership skills within a critcal care unit within a London-based trust. This post would be based within critcal care at St Marys Hospital.
This would include a wide variety of patients on critical care including major trauma, neuro-surgical, vascular and medicine.
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 or current Band 7 Physiotherapist, with a keen interest in the field of critical care physiotherapy. You will have a wide range of clinical experience, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient centred care. You will have the opportunity to develop your specialist skills and knowledge in the areas of respiratory physiotherapy including NIV, ventilator and tracheostomy weaning and rehabilitation within the critical care.
You must be able to participate in 7 days working and evening on calls.
Main duties of the job
- To provide clinical leadership alongside the Clinical Lead Therapist in the planning, organisation, co-ordination, delivery, evaluation and development of the critical care / surgical / medical physiotherapy service throughout the hospital, on a day-to-day basis.
- To take a leading role in the advanced physiotherapy assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have complex needs or presentation. To provide expert opinions on weaning and rehabilitation of patients in critical care.
- To undertake a significant clinical caseload working at a specialist level with other agencies and health professionals and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
- To maintain and develop a level of expertise within the speciality and as a senior clinician play an active part in the post graduate training of physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and other members of the healthcare team.
- To actively support the development and evaluation of clinical practice by postgraduate education, clinical audit and research.
- To work with other senior clinicians and team leaders within physiotherapy to provide integrated care across the specialist areas and between acute and community services.
- To be responsible for service development within the team, to implement policy and policy changes within the clinical area in partnership with the Clinical Service Lead, physiotherapy and MDT colleagues.

This post is for a full-time locum cardiac surgeon on a 12-month appointment.
Applicants who have been acting in a fully independent consultant surgeon role are preferred. Candidates should be able to demonstrate operational experience in combined surgical procedures and redo surgery.
The postholder will join a cardiothoracic team comprising five cardiac consultants and four substantive thoracic consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Background to the Post: This post is to provide resident cover and experience at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We would like to offer rotations to other sites as vacancies allow. Exceptional candidates may be offered the specialist fellowship positions (neuro, teaching/sim, & echocardiography)-such applicants will be asked to indicate which post they are applying for. In this case an average 20-40% dedicated to teaching/simulation, echocardiogaphy activities and/or service development.
Candidates who successfully complete their first year will be considered for entry into the Portfolio Pathway in Intensive Care Medicine within Imperial College, as part of their career progression, subject to availability of posts
Summary: The ICU senior clinical fellow would be expected to join the registrar grade tier of doctors who provide full on-call cover for the units including at weekends and nights. Airway experience is essential.
Main duties of the job
Duties and responsibilities When on duty for ICU the resident will review and manage patients on the ICU under the supervision of the consultants. They will form part of our multidisciplinary team caring for critically ill patients, performing procedures and investigations, liaising with referring teams, keeping relatives updated and acting as the first point of call for the ICU nursing staff.
All junior grades work in close cooperation with the consultants. The ICM resident are also expected to take an active role in supervision and training of medical students and junior doctors who are frequently attached to the ICU. Outline Timetable A minimum of twice daily multidisciplinary consultant ward rounds on each site, weekly MDTs. Daily afternoon meeting or ward round with a consultant or SpR in Infectious Diseases/Microbiology. Shifts vary in length from 9.5 to 13 hours. The work pattern amounts to an average of less than 48 hours per week (including weekends) for all grades.
The Echo/Simulation Fellow posts will offer a combination of clinical work and dedicated teaching, simulation, or echocardiography activities. The Echo Fellow will be supported to achieve BSE Level 1 accreditation. Each postholder will also be expected to complete a quality improvement project relevant to their fellowship.

All junior doctors get an induction day, organized by the hospital and the local tutor for intensive care medicine and electronic and printed induction and educational material. Network transfer training and BASIC courses available at no cost. The trust also provides a wide range of courses in management topics and Information technology (often free of charge or at low cost) in the postgraduate centres at Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Marys hospital. Background to the Post This post is to provide resident cover and experience at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Initially posts will be offered for initially 6 months but may be extended by agreement to 12 months or longer but may be extended by agreement and depending on satisfactory performance and vacancies. We would like to offer rotations to other sites as vacancies allow. Role Summary The Senior clinical fellow would be expected to join the registrar grade tier of doctors who provide full on-call cover for the units including at weekends and nights. Airway experience would be essential. Genesis of post i.e. new or replacement posts. Duties and responsibilities When on duty for ICU the resident will review and manage patients on the ICU under the supervision of the consultant. They will form part of our multidisciplinary team caring for critically ill patients, performing procedures and investigations, liaising with referring teams, keeping relatives updated and acting as the first point of call for the ICU nursing staff. All junior grades work in close cooperation with the consultants. The ICM resident are also expected to take an active role in supervision and training of medical students who are frequently attached to the ICU. Outline Timetable A minimum of twice daily multidisciplinary consultant ward rounds on each site, weekly MDTs. Daily afternoon meeting or ward round with a consultant or SpR in Infectious Diseases/Microbiology. Some ward rounds are delegated to the middle grade doctors with consultant background cover and discussion. Shifts vary in length from 9.5 to 13 hours. The work pattern amounts to an average of less than 48 hours per week (including weekends) for all grades. We run a full 7 day service. Regular educational meetings include fortnightly M&M Meetings, weekly teaching and journal clubs, monthly quality & safety meetings, quarterly clinical governance meetings and monthly teaching afternoons. In additional there are weekly hospital grand round and medical meetings.
All junior doctors get an induction day, organized by the hospital and the local tutor for intensive care medicine and electronic and printed induction and educational material. Network transfer training and BASIC courses available at no cost. The trust also provides a wide range of courses in management topics and Information technology (often free of charge or at low cost) in the postgraduate centres at Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Marys hospital. - To contribute to the development and implementation of evidence basednutritional guidelines and service developments in the specialist area.
- Support the Dietetic Lead in the delivery of an efficient, cost effective and high quality Nutrition & Dietetic Service, demonstrating an awareness of financial constraints of budgets for supplements/ prescription in both in and outpatient settings.
- To be able to use relevant statistical and graphical software for data analysis and presentation for producing ad hoc reports and project work as required.
- To maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and ensure the recording of statistical data in line with agreed office processes e.g. triage and vetting of referrals.
- To continually update clinical and research knowledge through literature searches, journal reviews and specialist training.
- To fully participate in the departments' clinical supervision programmes, including appraisals.
- Excellent keyboard skills for data entry and computer literacy i.e. word processing, presentation packages e.g. PowerPoint and knowledge of spreadsheets e.g. Excel.
