Salaried GP (4 Sessions per Week)
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly and established team at Concept House and Sefton Road Surgery.
The position is for 4 sessions per week, worked across Thursday and Friday, with Thursday incorporating on-call duties and Friday comprising regular clinical sessions. This arrangement supports continuity of patient care and ensures appropriate clinical cover across our two practice sites.
There is also an opportunity for applicants interested in working additional sessions to undertake work with Extended Services through our GP Federation. This could provide an excellent opportunity for a GP seeking a broader portfolio role or additional clinical experience.
Please note: Thursday and Friday are fixed working days for this position. Any additional sessions through Extended Services would be separate from the four sessions required by the practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred clinical care to the practice population. Core responsibilities will include:
-
Providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral in line with evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
-
Delivering the full range of General Medical Services (GMS), including management of long-term conditions, medication reviews, preventative care, and health promotion.
-
Participating in the duty/on-call rota as required.
-
Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous patient records in accordance with GMC standards and practice policies.
-
Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a supportive, effective, and safe working environment.
-
Engaging in clinical governance activities, including audit, significant event analysis, and service improvement initiatives.
-
Supporting education and training within the practice, including the supervision and development of trainees and students where appropriate.
-
Attending and contributing to practice meetings, ensuring effective communication and engagement in practice priorities and planning.
About us
We are a forward-thinking training practice with approximately 6,200 patients across Concept House and Sefton Road Surgery.
Our clinical team includes three part-time and two full-time Salaried GPs, supported by experienced ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs and a dedicated administrative team. We train F2 doctors and medical students, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages learning and professional development.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly, welcoming and supportive team, committed to delivering high-quality patient care. With developing interests in commissioning, minor surgery and cancer services, we encourage clinical leadership, innovation and specialist interests.
Our GP Partners work remotely but remain closely involved in clinical leadership and practice management, with weekly meetings and open communication.
Both Partners are Board Members of our GP Federation, giving us strong links with South Sefton PCN and Extended Services. These connections offer opportunities for additional sessions, portfolio working and involvement in wider primary care initiatives.

Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Mental Health - In Patient
Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust View all jobs
Posted 4 day(s) ago
Reference: 2371761
Job summary
The post is based at Cross Lane Hospital, which is a modern, custom-built, AIMS-accredited psychiatric unit. The Ayckbourn unit houses the male and female AMH wards.
The job is split into 3 sessions of supporting professional activities (SPA) and 7 sessions of direct clinical care (DCC).
You will provide expert assessment and care to patients admitted to the wards, specifically to 6 patients, 3 on each ward. They will have a dedicated slot for discussion of their patients in the daily report out. The daily report out is attended by a Multidisciplinary team comprising the people described in Section 3. They provide input based on a biological, psychological, and social model to support the treatment and recovery of each patient. The two nurse consultants would have similar slots to discuss their patients. There is an expectation of the postholder supporting the Specific MHA requirements that the Nurse consultants portfolios, such as sectioning of patient, does not permit.
It is hoped that you will be encouraged to use the enhanced SPA provision within this post to engage in research, education or service development in conjunction with local colleagues in order to ensure that this can occur in formal protected time. You will be expected to provide key medical leadership to the wards alongside the MPACs and a multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
Offer senior advice and support in the assessment, formulation, diagnosis and management of presenting conditions.
Support the team and other prescribers to make safe and effective prescribing decisions where required.
Senior medical care/supervision in the assessment, diagnosis, care planning and delivery of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions.
Take part in morning report out meetings with the team as well as attending MDT meetings, professionals meetings, and the team leadership meeting.
Take part in and provide insight and direction into complex case work, contributing to the overarching formulation of patient care and planning within the scope of MDT approach.
Join the wider team in providing relevant teaching and training when required.
Provide support to the Nurse Consultants in their role as Approved Clinicians and Non-medical prescribers.
About us
We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.
We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public.
Psychiatrists are essential contributors to our mental health teams. Service users expect and are justified to expect collaborative relationships with dedicated psychiatrists who work consistently as part of effective services. The Medical Directorate and Medical Development Team are striving to improve medical workforce recruitment and retention in a variety of ways and the cornerstone of these efforts is The TEWV Charter for the Medical Workforce. (Please see attached Supporting Document).

Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS - Hartlepool
Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust View all jobs
Posted 4 day(s) ago
Reference: 2371724
Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a child and adolescent consultant psychiatrist to become involved in transformation and leadership within a forward looking CAMHS service. We are keen to shape the post to fit the needs of the right applicant and to support them in developing their interests within our broad portfolio of services.
Durham Tees Valley Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services work with children and young people up to the age of 18 across Getting Help, Getting More help and neurodevelopmental assessment teams. Generic teams are closely linked with LD CAMHS, Eating Disorders and Forensic CAMHS. The out of hours activity is supported by dedicated CAMHS crisis team, which operates on 24/7 basis and provides extended crisis input as well as home treatment options as an alternative to hospital admissions.
The Hartlepool CAMHS Getting More Help team are based at Dover House which is in the centre of Hartlepool. It has good public transport links and free car parking is provided to staff directly outside of the building.
Hartlepool has a population of around 93,000 of which approximately 25% are children under 18
The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment and management of mental and/or behavioural needs of children and young people presenting with mental disorder and requiring assessment for neurodevelopmental needs.
There are opportunities to become a GMC registered trainer e.g. clinical and / or educational supervisor.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to offer mental health assessment, psychiatric opinions, diagnosis and holistic care plans for patients up to the age of 18, referred to them in hours and when on call. The Trust expects about 2 new patient assessments per week with 650 face to face contacts per year; this is for a full-time consultant, but exact figures can vary, depending upon the type of work undertaken, in agreement in job planning.
Direct patient contact would include new patients to service, new psychiatric assessments and review appointments.
Clinical work would be expected to be carried out predominantly within the clinical base at Dover house but may occur within other settings for example a young person may have strong feelings about being seen in an alternative community setting or it may be more appropriate to see a young person at their school.
The post holder will be required to be Section 12 approved, preferably with Approved Clinician status. The Trust would support the post holder to secure these approvals if not already in place when appointed.
The post holder will be expected to complete a minimum of 8 hours clinical supervision per year. This can be in any of a number of formats including individual or group supervision. IT support allows for supervision to be face to face or remote (over secure web-based MS Teams). The Lead Psychiatrist will provide support to the post holder to secure a Clinical Supervisor.
About us
We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby.
Psychiatrists are essential contributors to the majority of our mental health teams. Service users expect and are justified to expect collaborative relationships with dedicated psychiatrists who work consistently as part of effective services. Our medical staffing shortage puts strain on services and puts strain on workforce wellbeing and costs extend beyond the financial. The Medical Directorate and Medical Development Team are striving to improve medical workforce recruitment and retention in a variety of ways and the cornerstone of these efforts is The TEWV Charter for the Medical Workforce. (Please see attached Supporting Document).
The Trust welcomes a conversation about flexible working practices.
