We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic independently prescribing pharmacist to join our expanding medicines management team at Wide Way Medical Centre. We currently employ 1 independently prescribing pharmacist supported by a pharmacy technician, but recognise we need to expand our team to meet the needs of our 16,000 population.
We serve a diverse population in a relatively deprived area of Merton with a high burden of cardiovascular disease in particular so an interest in cardiovascular-disease care is desired but not essential.
We can offer a dynamic and innovative working environment, with plenty of development opportunities.
The role is practice based and there is flexibility for hybrid working with a mix of on-site and remote work - this is currently largely dictated by physical room space constraints but is negotiable. For direct patient contact activity we like it to be face-to-face because we believe this builds better trust and rapport but non-direct activities can be performed remotely to an extent, but it is important that you meet colleagues and feel fully embedded as part of the whole practice team.
We are a CQC rated "OUTSTANDING" practice.
Main duties of the job

This includes repeat prescribing, ensuring appropriate and monitored medications, reconciling changes from external providers, and conducting structured medication reviews (SMRs). Also includes oversight of Personally Administered Items (PAIs), medicines audits, safety alerts, and responding to medicine-related queries. Liaison with community pharmacists, ICS and PCN teams is essential to deliver national/local priorities. Staff are updated on medicines performance, with quality improvement activities supported.
Long Term Conditions Management (CVD) As part of the Planned Care team, responsibilities include managing long-term conditionsfocusing on CVD, AF, Heart Failure, Diabetes, Hypertension, and CKDvia structured reviews and optimisation clinics. The role supports multidisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes for high-risk patient cohorts.

Our team consists of 4 GP Partners plus a Managing Partner, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses, a Paramedic, Social Prescriber, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Care Coordinators and a fantastic administrative support team.
We are a training practice with 4 GP trainers and we host GP registrars, medical students and nursing students.
We greatly value the expertise our pharmacist and pharmacy technician colleagues bring and support the personal and professional development of all our staff, particularly with respect to cardiovascular disease care which is a focus for us due to our local burden.
the successful candidate will take part in the weekly cardiovascular optimisation meetings, planned care meetings and medicines management meetings to support the medicines management team

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Manager to provide operational leadership across Oncology, Haematology and Rheumatology, working across both George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust (GEH) and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT).
This is a genuinely cross-organisational role, with the postholder's time split between GEH and SWFT. You will be expected to have a visible presence across both organisations, working closely with clinical, nursing and operational colleagues to support the day-to-day delivery and continued development of these services.
Main duties of the job
- This is a cross-organisational role and the postholder's working time will be split between George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. The ability to travel independently between the two organisations and their associated sites is therefore an essential requirement of the role.
- Reporting to the General Manager and/or Directorate Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Oncology, Haematology and Rheumatology, ensuring services are safe, effective and responsive to the needs of our patients.
- The role requires someone who enjoys being close to operational delivery. You will provide visible leadership across your services and act as a key point of escalation where there are pressures or deviations against performance, quality or financial plans.
- You will work alongside clinical and nursing leaders and Service Managers to understand performance, identify pressures and ensure that appropriate actions and mitigations are in place.
- Alongside the day-to-day operational responsibilities, we want the successful candidate to have a real interest in service improvement and transformation.
- You will support and lead service redesign within your portfolio, working with multidisciplinary teams to implement changes that respond to national and local priorities and improve patient care.
- The successful candidate will also join the On Call Manager Rota for the George Eliot Hospital Site.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- Working across two organisations provides an opportunity to look at how services currently operate at GEH and SWFT, understand where there are differences and identify where greater collaboration, standardisation or sharing of good practice could improve patient care, experience and operational resilience.
- We are looking for someone who can combine strong operational management with a positive and collaborative leadership style.
- You will need to be comfortable working across different teams and sites, developing relationships with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical colleagues and maintaining a clear focus on delivery.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience of managing and improving healthcare services, including experience of managing teams across multiple sites.
- Strong operational and performance management skills, with the ability to use data to understand issues and drive improvement.
- Experience of financial and budget management and an understanding of how operational decisions affect the financial sustainability of services.
- The ability to develop strong working relationships with clinical, nursing and operational colleagues.
- Experience of managing change and delivering service improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the confidence to make decisions and escalate issues appropriately.
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment
Leadership, quality and improvement
- You will provide leadership and direction to the teams within your portfolio, supporting workforce planning and ensuring that our people and resources are used effectively.
- You will work closely with clinical teams on workforce and consultant job planning and help create an environment where staff are engaged in how their services are managed and developed. A commitment to equality, inclusion and staff engagement will be an important part of how you lead.
- Quality and patient safety will be central to the role. You will support robust governance arrangements across your services, monitor risks and health and safety, manage complaints and learning, and use local and national benchmarking to identify opportunities for improvement.
- You will also have responsibility for operational management of budgets within your portfolio and will contribute to productivity, income opportunities, business planning and cost improvement programmes.
Why join us?
Oncology, Haematology and Rheumatology are services where strong multidisciplinary working and effective operational leadership can make a significant difference to both patient experience and outcomes.
This role provides an opportunity to work across two organisations and to help shape how these services develop as GEH and SWFT work increasingly closely together.
We want someone who will be visible, approachable and supportive, but who is equally comfortable challenging where things could be better, maintaining a focus on performance and helping teams turn ideas into tangible improvements.
This would particularly suit someone looking for their next operational leadership challenge who wants the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio while gaining experience of working across organisational boundaries.
The postholder will be expected to split their working time between George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, with flexibility to work across the different sites and associated locations as required. Flexibility to work across sites will therefore be an important requirement of the successful candidate.
If you are an experienced operational manager who enjoys working with people, improving services and making things happen, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
For an informal conversation to learn more about the role, please contact Alistair Nutting, Directorate Manager for Medicine, Elective Division, by contacting Emily Redfern via [email protected]

We are a long-established community practice with a proud history, while being firmly focused on the future. We are currently going through a period of positive transformation, taking a measured and thoughtful approach to developing ways of working that are sustainable, effective and fit for the future of general practice.
This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking practice where your ideas and experience will be valued. We are looking for a GP who wants to provide excellent patient care while also having the opportunity to contribute to how our services develop.
We welcome applications from experienced GPs as well as those earlier in their careers who are looking for a supportive practice where they can develop their interests and take on greater responsibility over time.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, compassionate and patient-centred general medical services to our practice population, working closely with our clinical, nursing, administrative and wider multidisciplinary teams.
Alongside day-to-day clinical work, there will be opportunities to become involved in the wider development of the practice according to your interests, experience and career aspirations.
We are actively involved in PCN and neighbourhood working, providing opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across primary care and the wider health and care system.
For those who are interested, there will be scope to develop or lead areas of special interest, contribute to quality improvement and practice projects, become involved in PCN or neighbourhood initiatives, and take on clinical or organisational leadership responsibilities.
We want our GPs to have a voice in the practice and to contribute to developing services that work well for both our patients and our team.
About us
Grosvenor House Surgery has been at the heart of its community for generations, caring for local people through enormous changes in medicine, the NHS and wider society. We are proud of our history and the relationships we have built with our patients and community.
At the heart of the practice is a team of friendly, helpful and committed staff who care about our patients and each other. We value teamwork, open communication and a supportive working environment where everyone's contribution is recognised.
We are now building on these strengths as we develop the practice for the future. Our approach is positive but considered: embracing innovation and new ways of working while making sure that change is sustainable for both patients and staff.
We are part of a thriving Primary Care Network and are actively engaged in neighbourhood working, giving our team opportunities to collaborate, develop professionally and contribute to the changing landscape of primary care.
