As Practice Manager, you will be at the heart of our practice, working alongside our 5 friendly and supportive GP Partners. We are looking for an experienced and motivated manager to lead the HR, operational, compliance and patient relationship functions of our busy GP surgery. As a leader you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe and effective running of the practice while supporting our clinical and administrative teams.
The successful candidate will provide visible and effective leadership and oversight, support continuous improvement and maintain high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.
Main duties of the job
Operational Leadership: provide clear and effective management of the day-to-day operations of the practice.
HR & People Management: recruitment, staff wellbeing , performance management and staff development.
Compliance & Governance: ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual requirements , IG regulations, policies, risk assessments and audits.
Financial Management: financial planning, budgeting and business performance.
Strategic Planning: drive business planning, quality improvement, service development and long-term organisational stability.
Patient Focus: Ensure high-quality patient experience, complaints handling and communication.
Wider relationships: build strong relationships with PCN Practice Managers, the ICB, local community groups and businesses
Leadership & Culture: Foster a positive, supportive and collaborative working environment.

Job summary

We have a vacancy within our medical reception team. We are looking for a candidate who has some experience with administration or reception duties, preferably in a healthcare setting, although we will consider applicants from other backgrounds.
The job entails greeting patients at reception in person, over the phone, supporting GPs in care navigation, booking and cancelling appointments and a range of other administrative duties.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for somebody with a friendly and approachable personality whilst ensuring professionalism at all times. We want our practice to be a welcoming place for patients and our reception team are key in providing our front of house services.
Previous GP practice experience is not essential as training will be given, however, we are looking for a can-do approach and somebody who will fit in to friendly and likeable team.
Patient care is at the heart of what we do and we want to provide the best possible service for them. Being a 'people' person and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential. Politeness, care and compassion are essential attributes to be successful within the role.
About us
The practice has a main surgery in the centre of Dunmow and a branch surgery in nearby Felsted. Our core opening hours are 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Fridays. Additionally, the practice is open for extended access appointments on some evenings and some Saturdays.
We are a friendly practice who have a values-based approach to recruitment. Our teams include a range of GPs, nurses, allied healthcare professionals and a full complement of administrative and reception staff.
We have regular social events throughout the year and several other employee benefits.In addition to your salary and other benefits, you will be entitled to join the NHS Pension Scheme. We also offer a minimum of 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays. This is pro-rata'd for part time staff.
