Job summary
Are you looking for the opportunity to join a well-organised, friendly and forward-thinking Wiltshire training practice?
Would you like the chance to develop an interest in any of our additional services? Delivering GP care to a local large co-educational boarding school or involvement with medical services for an inpatient eating disorder unit perhaps?
We offer a competitive salary, reimbursement of indemnity fees, 6 weeks of annual leave plus 1 week of study leave (pro rata) and ongoing mentorship with one of our Partners.
KAMP would welcome GPs at any stage of their career so if we have piqued your interest please give us a call or contact us via email for a chat and to discuss this opportunity further.
Main duties of the job
Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership is looking for a Salaried GP to start as soon as possible, and we are happy to be flexible regarding the number and timing of sessions and working patterns for the right candidate.
Keeping our workload manageable is important to us. Duty sessions are well supported by an excellent team of Nurse Practitioners and Paramedics, who undertake the majority of home visits. Workload is protected with pathology results and post all dealt with on your days off. Our very capable non-clinical team support GPs with the growing admin burden of processing letters, etc.
About us
KAMP is a dispensing practice delivering care to around 17,500 patients in the market town of Marlborough, the village of Pewsey and the surrounding countryside. The practice is situated within the heart of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; has a range of excellent local schools and is close to the M4 and mainline railway services to London and the rest of the country.
We're a friendly supportive team of 9 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 1 Retained GP and a GP Registrar. The wider multidisciplinary team within the practice includes Nurse Practitioners (who looks after our care homes), Paramedics (who undertake almost all accute home visits), Triage Nurses, First Contact Physiotherapist, Practice Nurses (who specialise in long term conditions management), Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, a dedicated team caring for over 75s, and Care Co-ordinators.
We would be happy to offer visa sponsorship for the correct candidate.
KAMP has a clear mission to deliver high quality healthcare by happy and motivated staff and to develop a sustainable future for the local community within a framework where all staff and patients are treated with dignity and respect. For more information, please see the document attached to this advertisement.

- Maintaining accurate patient records, registers and recall systems
- Liaising with patients, carers, multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare services
- Recognising when information or clinical findings require escalation to an appropriate clinician
- Contributing to the effective day-to-day running of the practice and supporting colleagues during periods of increased demand
All duties will be undertaken within the postholders training, assessed competence and supervision arrangements.

The successful candidate will be employed by East Kennet PCN Ltd and primarily based at Old School House Surgery.
Our practices work collaboratively while retaining their individual character and strong links with their local communities. At Old School House Surgery, you will join an approachable and experienced team where communication is open, colleagues work flexibly together and new staff are supported to develop confidence in their role.
You will also benefit from being part of the wider East Kennet PCN team, with access to broader multidisciplinary working, shared learning and opportunities to contribute to the continued development of local primary care services.
