You will commence as a band 3 'Emergency Medical Advisor' trained to take 999 calls. What does a 999 Call handler do?
Based at the Emergency Operations Centre in Lincoln you will receive 999 & urgent calls from the public and Health Service colleagues; you will prioritise calls in line with agreed protocols and provide pre-arrival advice.
With shift up to 12 hours includes night working, we operate 24/7 365 days of the year including public bank holidays such as Christmas and New Year.
Successful candidates will have previous experience working in a pressurised environment and demonstrate an ability to work effectively and make fast paced decisions whilst providing excellent care and advice.
The ability to work on their own initiative within a team and have effective verbal communication skills and be computer literate.

The post holder will provide administrative and clerical support to the Ophthalmology service within theSurgical Division. The post holder is a key member of the team, working closely with the wider Ophthalmology service on the business management of the service.
To provide support to the management team and its clinicians to deliver outstanding service delivery and organisational performance. This includes working with others, to develop practical service planning delivery that supports improvements in patient experience and care and reduce the overall current waiting times for Ophthalmology.
The main focus of this role will to be to provide support to ensure access targets are met within the Ophthalmology service and that inpatient and outpatient capacity is well utilised.
The post involves the booking of outpatient appointments and day case treatments. The role will range from handling GP and patient queries and enquiries about clinics, making appointments using systems, direct and partial booked appointment processes.
The main duties will be answering telephone calls, making calls, taking general enquiries, booking appointments in line with Partial Booking Policy and monitoring.

Dimensions of the Role
- Manage an active caseload of WorkWell participants.
- Contribute to delivery of WorkWell outcomes and key performance indicators.
- Work across community, primary care, workplace and virtual settings.
- Support integration of health, wellbeing, employment and community support services across the WorkWell pathway.
Key Responsibilities
Social Prescribing and Personalised Care
- Undertake holistic, person-centred assessments to identify health, wellbeing, social and employment-related needs.
- Develop personalised support plans based on individual goals, strengths and aspirations.
- Support individuals to access community groups, voluntary organisations and local support services.
- Address wider determinants of health including housing, debt, social isolation, transport, digital exclusion and caring responsibilities.
- Empower individuals to increase independence, resilience and self-management.
- Promote wellbeing, community connectedness and social inclusion
WorkWell Coaching and Employment Support
- Manage a caseload of participants experiencing health-related barriers to employment.
- Undertake holistic biopsychosocial assessments to identify barriers and opportunities relating to work and wellbeing.
- Support individuals to remain in work, return to work or move towards sustainable employment.
- Provide coaching, motivation and practical support to improve confidence, resilience and employability
- Support participants with CV development, job applications, interview preparation and skills progression
- Develop and review personalised work and wellbeing action plans
- Promote the positive relationship between good work, health and wellbeing
Case Management and Care Coordination
- Act as lead practitioner for allocated participants.
- Coordinate support across health, employment, skills, welfare and community services
- Facilitate warm handovers and supported referrals to partner organisations.
- Maintain regular contact with participants and monitor progress towards agreed outcomes.
- Identify and escalate safeguarding, welfare or clinical concerns in line with policy.
- Support participants through transitions such as returning to work, job loss, changes in health status or personal circumstances.
Partnership and Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with community organisations, VCSE partners, local authorities, healthcare services and employment providers.
- Develop knowledge of local community assets and support pathways.
- Promote WorkWell and social prescribing services across partner organisations
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Health Advisers, Work and Health Coaches, Mental Health Practitioners and other MDT members.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
Employer Engagement
- Support participants and employers to identify practical workplace solutions and reasonable adjustments
- Contribute to return-to-work planning and sickness absence prevention activities.
- Promote workplace wellbeing resources and support services.
- Signpost employers to specialist occupational health support where required.
Performance, Quality and Governance
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous case records.
- Collect and record outcome data in accordance with service requirements
- Support service audits, evaluations and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to quality improvement and service development initiatives.
- Comply with safeguarding, information governance, health and safety and organisational policies.
Essential Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Relevant qualification in Social Prescribing, Health and Wellbeing, Social Care, Community Development, Psychology, Public Health, Coaching or a related discipline.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Understanding of personalised care and strengths-based practice.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Accredited Social Prescribing Link Worker training.
- Health Coaching qualification.
- Level 3 or above Information, Advice and Guidance qualification.
- Mental Health First Aid qualification.
- Vocational Rehabilitation training.
- Motivational Interviewing training.
- Behaviour Change qualification.
