Job summary
We are recruiting a dynamic, methodical, forward thinking secretary ideally Full time but may consider part time (Over 5 days) to help assist our clinical team with managing our referral processes.
Main duties of the job
- Typing letters/reports and associated documentation as required by Partners/Clinical Directors
- Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services to ensure referrals are processed efficiently
- Maintain an accurate referrals database mainly for TWR
- Process referrals via ERS and email - make sure to keep up to date with any changes
- Process advice & guidance requests
- Scanning of patient-related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
- Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary
- Assist with training of new staff
- Ad-hoc duties when required by Management/Partners
- Manage all administrative queries as requested
- Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks when needed
- Manage Practice email account

Job responsibilities
Lambton Road Medical Practice would like to employ an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our multi-disciplinary team to provide a range of professional and first-rate support services to both our patients and Clinical Team. The role will mainly be focused on managing and monitoring Referrals, supporting Clinicians. The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills, as well as ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment. The Medical Secretary must also have knowledge of medical terminology and be familiar with computer systems and software commonly used in healthcare settings.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide expert pharmaceutical care, supporting patients across a range of clinical settings. Main duties of the role will include:
- Conducting patient-centred structured medication reviews to optimise medicines use and improve health outcomes.
- Providing higher-level clinical administration and medicines management support to ensure safe and effective prescribing practices.
- Managing and supporting the ongoing care of patients with long-term conditions, using your independent prescribing qualification where appropriate.
- Identifying and addressing medicines-related issues, improving patient safety and reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.
