You will be joining an experienced and supportive Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Pharmacy Team within Leeds Children’s Hospital, working alongside specialist pharmacists, technicians and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. The service delivers complex and highly specialised care across oncology, haematology and BMT, providing an excellent environment in which to build advanced clinical expertise and take meaningful responsibility for patient care.

This post offers the opportunity to develop within a highly specialised clinical service, work with a high degree of autonomy and contribute to the ongoing development of pharmacy practice. You will have opportunities to influence clinical care, support service improvement, contribute to guidelines and governance, and develop your knowledge and experience across complex paediatric oncology and haematology pathways, but with a main focus on Stem Cell Transplant/Bone Marrow Transplant.

We are looking for a confident and experienced clinical pharmacist who can take a role in supporting the paediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) service, alongside the wider paediatric oncology and haematology pharmacy team.

You will bring:

• Significant post-registration clinical pharmacy experience, ideally within paediatrics, oncology, haematology, BMT or another complex specialist area.

• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously within a highly specialist service.

• An interest in, or experience of, BMT and the management of complex medicines used throughout the transplant pathway.

• The confidence to act as one of the pharmacy contact for BMT patients and the wider multidisciplinary team.

• The ability to manage complex clinical problems and provide specialist medicines advice to medical, nursing and pharmacy colleagues.

• Strong communication skills when working with children, young people and their families.

• A sound understanding of medicines governance, patient safety and risk management.

• Experience of contributing to clinical guidelines, protocols and service development.

• Enthusiasm for education and for supporting the development of pharmacy and multidisciplinary colleagues.

• The ability to prioritise effectively and maintain a high-quality clinical service within a busy and changing environment.

• Be able to contribute to specialist advice and actively participate in MDT team meetings and departmental meetings

• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate highly complex medicine related information to prescribers, clinicians, patients and carers, colleagues external to the Trust (eg. POSCU pharmacists, commissioners)

• A good understanding of antimicrobial stewardship and the ability to actively support safe and effective antimicrobial use.

• Experience of supporting the safe and effective use of off-label and unlicensed medicines within complex treatment pathways.

• Independent prescribing skills , or the ability to use these effectively in response to service need.

• Experience of reviewing systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), including ensuring treatment remains appropriate throughout admission and at discharge.

• The ability to provide clear medicines counselling and support to children, young people and their families.

• Confidence in providing specialist pharmacy support across inpatient wards and specialist clinics, including stem cell transplant pathways.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a), 1.0 WTE, to join us in providing specialist clinical psychology services to adults and children admitted following major trauma at Leeds General Infirmary. The post holder would offer inpatient psychological assessment and intervention, supporting adjustment, rehabilitation and hospital discharge alongside the Major Trauma MDT. The post would cover both MTC patients at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s University Hospital. The role would also include psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for outpatients following major trauma. This is a permanent post, open to existing Band 8a clinical psychologists and Band 7 clinical psychologists with post-qualification experience of working in physical health settings. For applicants appointed at Band 7, support would be provided within the role to progress to Band 8a via an established preceptorship programme.

The post is part of the Major Trauma, Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery psychology team. The post holder would be expected to attend team meetings, which are held on Wednesdays, at least once a month. At Band 8a level, the post holder would offer supervision to early career psychologists, as appropriate to the role and WTE.

You will be joining a team of pre-registration trainee Pharmacy Technicians rotating around each LTHT site and you will meet a wide range of people from lots of different backgrounds. Working closely with your fellow trainee pharmacy technicians and multi-disciplinary teams you will gain valuable knowledge and skills along the way.

Your duties will include working in our hospital inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, dispensing prescriptions and issuing prescribed items, contributing to all aspects of pharmaceutical stock control

This is an exciting time to join the neonatal pharmacy team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. We have the opportunity to increase our workforce in line with a planned expansion of our two neonatal units. We have funding available for both a full-time and part-time member of staff. So, for the right candidate(s), we will consider all requests for part-time working. Our goal is to align ourselves with national priorities regarding medication safety initiatives in neonates by working towards NPPG standards for pharmacy staffing and playing our part in vital quality improvement work.

The successful candidate(s) will spend the majority of their clinical time covering our neonatal units at Leeds General Infirmary and St James's University Hospital. You will be joining a well embedded team who join daily ward rounds for ICU and HDU level patients, prescribe parenteral nutrition and have a close working relationship with the MDT. There will also be some expectation to provide cross cover to our obstetrics wards as well as offering support to the wider paediatric pharmacy team and regularly contributing to our service rota, including working in our aseptics unit and paediatric warfarin clinic.

Clinical governance and leadership responsibilities to neonates will be divided between the team members at the conclusion of the recruitment process. These responsibilities will include but are not limited to, leading on safe medication usage within your clinical area, research and audit, overseeing safe storage of medicine, education and training, guideline and monograph development and driving quality improvement work.

Based within the Leeds General Infirmary, the Leeds Children’s Hospital is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the UK and treats patients from across Yorkshire and the North of England as a secondary and tertiary referral centre. The role involves providing biopsychosocial assessment, risk assessment and short-term psychosocial interventions to patients admitted to a general hospital bed. We are looking for a resident doctor to take up full and/or part-time posts and can offer deferred appointments. The Cellular Pathology Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a forwardthinking, innovative and continually improving service. We were the first laboratory in the UK to digitally scan 100% of surgical slides and also introduced the UK’s first automated tissue sectioners. We are a regional Cellular Pathology Genomics Centre and a pilot site for the Cancer Vaccine Launch Pad, supported by dedicated Transformation and Pathology Technology & Innovation Leads.

As a large teaching hospital, we offer a supportive and collaborative working environment with a strong emphasis on training, development and progression for staff at all levels. • Excellent IT skills, including the ability to use standard software packages such as Microsoft Excel and quality management systems.
• Experience of clinical record data handling, database management or maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with UKAS and RCPath requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities to ensure proactive measures are taken to meet agreed turnaround times.
• Excellent attention to detail when working with patient, clinical and project information.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to be utilised in assisting CPGC leadership planning and collaborating with WGS leads, multidisciplinary teams and regional WYAAT cellular pathology departments
• Excellent hand to eye coordination for the macrodissection of tumour-rich areas identified and marked by a pathologist/advanced practitioner on glass slides,
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A flexible, proactive approach to work; previous experience in a clinical laboratory or complex healthcare environment would be advantageous.
• Maintain own competence in established procedures and participate in relevant training where required.
• Supports with identification of service improvement opportunities and implementation of improvement actions
