Job summary
This is a specialist client facing NHS analytics and transformation role, focused on supporting healthcare organisations to improve operational performance, redesign clinical pathways and deliver sustainable service improvements. The Senior Business Analyst will combine strong NHS data expertise with stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and a consultative approach, working closely with clinical and operational teams to identify challenges, develop insights and support the delivery of measurable change.
The role involves regular multi-day engagements at client sites across the UK, working alongside clinicians, operational managers, performance teams and senior leaders. The postholder will provide analysis, performance reporting, demand and capacity assessments, executive-level reporting and improvement plans that support decision-making, service transformation and benefits realisation.
Please note that this is a healthcare analytics, transformation and consultancy role and is not a software development position. We are seeking candidates with NHS data, operational improvement and stakeholder engagement experience rather than software engineering or application development backgrounds.
Main duties of the job
NHS Operational Analysis & Improvement
- Analyse NHS operational data to identify productivity opportunities, pathway improvements and service efficiencies.
- Undertake demand and capacity modelling, performance analysis and backlog reviews, translating findings into practical recommendations and implementation plans.
Client Engagement & Transformation
- Work closely with NHS stakeholders to understand priorities, facilitate workshops and support transformation initiatives.

We are offering one Anaesthetic Senior Trust Grade job at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover Resident gaps and includes participation in the 2nd on-call Resident rota at one or other campus. Applicants should have full GMC registration with a licence to practise, at least 5 years of anaesthetic experience with significant and recent experience in a UK anaesthetic department, and have passed the Royal College of Anaesthetists Final FRCA examination or other Test of Knowledge accepted by the RCoA
Successful applicants will join a busy, supportive department, providing anaesthesia for a broad range of specialties, and will participate in 2nd on anaesthetic rotas covering Anaesthesia, Enhanced Perioperative Care (EPOC), Obstetrics, and Critical Care as required
Main duties of the job

Support the delivery of a high quality 24-hour Anaesthetic service, including participation in out of hours rotas, covering EPOC (Enhanced Perioperative Care unit), Obstetrics, and Critical Care, in addition to General (Anaesthesia) duties

Provide internal cover for colleagues on leave, which is included in the current banding allocation of this post. In exceptional circumstances and for short periods only, Clinical Fellows may be requested to provide additional cover, for example, to cover sickness. Locums may also be employed in this instance. The rota is EWTD compliant with appropriate level of banding for anti-social hours
Work flexibly, maintain a logbook and portfolio, engage with supervision, undergo medical appraisal and to develop a learning plan/PDP
Comply with management arrangements in place, to follow the guidelines on practice laid down by the General Medical Councils Maintaining Good Medical Practice, and to be accountable to the Trust for their actions and the quality of their work
Comply with Trust Health and Safety policies, fulfil mandatory training requirements and maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff
