Job summary
We are a busy and rapidly expanding GP surgery looking for a part-time, Medical Receptionist/Administrator for an immediate start.
You will be required to work between our main site at Manor Street, Glossop and our two other sites, in Glossop and Hadfield.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and will have excellent customer care skills along with a pleasant and helpful personality. You will be willing to take part in all aspects of surgery activity and have a good work ethic and proactive attitude to your role. Duties will include, but are not extensive to:
Manning the front reception desk and assisting our patients both face to face and by telephone. You will also be proficient at dealing with all practice administration including communication via sms, email and other various electronic methods.
Prior experience of working in a General Practice setting would be desirable however, we will consider providing full training for candidates who have no prior GP surgery experience but have exceptional customer care, IT and communication skills (incl. email & Microsoft Office applications)
Main duties of the job

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join Stevenage Healthcare, working primarily from King George Surgery, Stevenage, as part of the Stevenage South Primary Care Network (SSPCN). This role is offered on a part-time basis for 30 hours per week working across 4 days.This is a practice-based role where you will become an integral member of the wider multidisciplinary team, supporting clinicians and patients to ensure the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines. You will work closely with GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, nursing teams, community pharmacies and secondary care colleagues to improve medicines optimisation and enhance patient outcomes.The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting prescribing processes, medication safety initiatives, medicines reconciliation, repeat prescribing systems and responding to medication-related queries. You will also contribute to quality improvement projects, clinical audits and the development of robust prescribing procedures that support best practice and regulatory requirements. Whilst the role is primarily based at King George Surgery, there may be occasional requirements to support wider PCN initiatives and services across Stevenage South Primary Care Network. You will support the delivery of high-quality medicines management services and work collaboratively with the practice and pharmacy teams to ensure patients receive safe and effective care.
Main duties of the job
- Managing medication queries from patients, GPs and other healthcare professionals.
- Supporting medicines optimisation activities across the practice.
- Processing and supporting repeat prescribing systems, including Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD).
- Undertaking medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge and outpatient appointments.
- Supporting medication reviews and high-risk medication monitoring programmes.
- Assisting with medicines safety initiatives, including MHRA and National Patient Safety Alerts.
- Helping to identify and reduce medicines waste whilst promoting cost-effective prescribing.
- Supporting prescribing audits, quality improvement projects and CQC compliance activities.

Stevenage South PCN are looking for an experienced and motivated health professional to support our upcoming COVID vaccination programme, primarily delivering vaccinations to care home residents and housebound patients across Stevenage.
This short-term role will focus primarily on COVID vaccinations, with the potential to support additional vaccination programmes such as RSV, Shingles and Pneumococcal where required. This role is offered with some flexibility - weekday availability is required with ideally Saturdays and Sundays.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vaccinator to make a direct impact in protecting vulnerable patients within the community as part of a supportive Primary Care Network team.
As a community vaccinator you will play a key role in delivering safe and effective vaccination clinics across care homes and housebound patient settings. Working as part of the PCN vaccination team, you will support the delivery of the seasonal COVID programme and ensure vaccinations are delivered in line with national guidance, PGDs and local protocols.
Main duties of the job
- Work as a registered healthcare professional to a PGD and relevant guidance.
- Deliver COVID vaccinations to care home residents and housebound patients.
- Support delivery of other vaccination programmes where required (e.g. RSV, Shingles, Pneumococcal).
- Undertake pre-vaccination clinical assessments to ensure patient suitability.
- Provide clear information and reassurance to patients and carers about vaccinations.

Stevenage Healthcare/Stevenage South PCN is made up of local practices who are commissioned to work together to provide a range of healthcare services to a population of 60,000 patients across Stevenage.
