Our aim is to get patients to the right person or place to help them, first time. As the first point of contact for many patients, the reception team play a really important role.
You'll be responsible for welcoming patients in person and on the phone and directing them to the right person or service.
This may include making sure that patients with urgent needs and no scheduled appointment are seen in a sensible way.
The role also includes important administrative duties such as booking appointments, dealing with samples and prescriptions, updating patient records and other tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the practice.

Main duties of the job

Job summary
Ongar Health Centre are keen to recruit an Administration Manager to work 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours per day. Hours can be agreed at interview. This important position will see you responsible for the efficient management and direction of the admin team, ensuring all admin duties and workflows are performed effectively, in a timely way and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice. You will be key in supporting the management team in promoting ED&I, quality and service improvement, confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, learning and development and carry out other duties as directed by the management team.
Main duties of the job
- Overseeing the admin services of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities
- Line managing all admin staff, supporting staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training
- Completing staff appraisals as required
- Identify and deliver team training where required
- Managing practice workflow to ensure timely action taken.

Ongar Health Centre are looking to welcome an Administrator/Clinical Coder to their team for 22 hours per week, working on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Hours to be confirmed.
Main duties of the job
- Work methodically and accurately with the ability to self-motivate, organise and prioritise own workload
- Summarise and read code relevant information from patients clinical records into the practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the practice notes summarising protocol. Process and manage all incoming correspondence including letters and electronic documents
