Main duties of the job
As an Activities Co-ordinator, your role is pivotal in shaping an engaging and supportive environment for vulnerable individuals. You'll work 37.5 hours per week at Reene House, Newport, creating a milieu that encourages social, recreational, and leisure activities through organised programmes. Central to this role is building strong 1-1 and group relationships with service users to tailor activities around their interests and needs. Your task involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to fortify community resources and enhance user participation in local activities. You'll also undertake a variety of responsibilities including co-ordinating activities within a secure setting, obtaining data on user interests, carefully observing and documenting behaviour and progress, and ensuring safety and welfare standards. Initiative, motivation, and teamwork skills are essential, along with a basic grasp of the unique aspects of mental health care and community inclusion.

- Co-ordinating social and recreational activities for service users within the secure environment who are unable to freely access public services.
- Obtaining information from service users regarding their social and recreational interests.
- Observing general behaviour, ability, and response of service users and report back regularly using verbal and written communications to appropriate team members.
- Under supervision documenting observations and progress in the service user's clinical notes.
- Fulfilling the security requirements of the service and adhere to service policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Basic risk assessment on a day to day basis to individuals and groups of service users
- Ensuring that health and safety, welfare and security standards for service users, staff and their visitors are adhered to.
- Effective skills of co-ordination and use of resources.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Basic group work skills
- Minimum of 12 months experience within a mental health setting (Desirable)
- Ability to communicate effectively and work within a team-based framework.
- Initiative and motivation.
- Awareness of Mental Health and its impact on functioning.
- Solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Good organisational skills.
- Awareness of gender-specific needs.
- Awareness of the cultural needs of service users.
- Full UK Drivers License

We are looking for a creative, innovative and motivated advanced practitioner to support the delivery of Occupational Therapy (OT) within Long term conditions Neurology team, based at St Woolos Hospital.
Extensive clinical experience of rehabilitation and neurology is essential. Work as part of the neurology team and as the wider OT team across ABUHB, to deliver high quality, evidence-based OT intervention with individuals who have a neurological condition.
The post holder will deliver advanced clinical interventions along with the development of a consultancy model, utilising evidence-based practice, taking an active role in undertaking service/clinical evaluations, audit and research.
The post offers opportunity to deliver a wide variety of assessments and interventions with individuals in their own homes, community locations as well as in clinic settings. To becreative in treatment planning, and work with Individuals over focused periods of time to support them in achieving varied goals.
The post holder should show commitment to continually developing knowledge, skills and experience in condition management, complex moving and handling, adaptations, specialist seating and support the development of team members and students as part of their clinical leadership role.
Postgraduate experience of working with individuals with neurological conditions is essential as is the ability to work flexibly and proactively to deliver a prompt and clinically effective service.
Main duties of the job
Professional aspects of the Occupational Therapy role include:
Utilise advanced knowledge and skills from a varied clinical background, including in a neurological setting, to assess, treat and manage a varied caseload.

We are seeking two Assistant Psychologists who are passionate about promoting the emotional health and well-being of children and young people with developmental delay or disability and their families. These posts will be part of the Children with Additional Needs (CAN DWR) and the Intensive Positive Behavioural Support (iPBS) teams. The teams work to promote emotional wellbeing and development in children with developmental delay and learning disabilities, their families and systems of support. The postholders will work alongside multi-disciplinary teams and will make close links with colleagues within the children's centres, education, social care and the third sector. The postholders will support outreach through developing and delivering workshops and toolkits and partnering with projects in the local community. The postholders will work alongside the Clinical Psychologist to run groups and provide psychological support to young people, families and their systems of support.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral part of the Trauma and Orthopaedic team. They will be based in the Plaster room within the fracture clinic, GRH and will undertake a minimum time period within this environment.
During the initial induction period, the post holder will undertake a planned schedule where they will learn all aspects of health, safety and hygiene of the Plaster Room environment. They will be supported in answering patient queries and concerns, understand the materials required for different casts, removal of casts and application of Plaster of Paris casting.
They will also learn how to measure and issue walking devices and fitting of "off the shelf" splintage.
Prior to commencement on a fully funded Stanmore or Newport British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Casting Course, the post holder will be supplied with a workbook which will include pre-requisites such as understanding of anatomy and physiology of the skeletal, muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.
The workbook will be competency based and the post holder will work through the learning outcomes with the support of a mentor, who will be a fully qualified Orthopaedic Practitioner.

The community respiratory service consists of the respiratory virtual ward, long term respiratory management, home oxygen and pulmonary rehabilitation. The team provides urgent care to people in their homes.
Within the respiratory virtual ward, the team aims to deliver holistic assessments and interventions to individuals who are at risk of hospital admission. The aim of the team is to enable people to stay at home, recover, and re-engage with the important aspects of their life and prevent admission to acute sectors.
Following assessments and intervention, if patients require further support to help keep them at home, patients will be admitted to the virtual ward. The virtual ward provides a safe alternative to hospital for patients living with long term respiratory condition through community-based acute health and care delivery
The home oxygen team is a community assessment service for predominantly respiratory adult patients who require assessment and ongoing management of their oxygen requirements in line with BTS guidelines and key standards of practise.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is a prescribed and progressive exercise and education programme designed for people with long term respiratory conditions who experience symptoms of breathlessness and helps them better understand their condition and symptoms to support effective self-management.
The team acts as an expert resource for other healthcare professionals dealing with complex respiratory patients.
Main duties of the job
A key aspect of this role is to support the Clinical Lead with Leadership and Management tasks, Clinical Expertise and Caseload as well as Quality and Governance.
As a team lead you will ensure each team member has access to a clinical supervisor and arrange time for staff to undertake Clinical Supervision, within available resources.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced part time Medical Secretary to join the Neonatal Secretarial Department based at Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport. Working days are fixed on Thursday and Friday.
It is essential that the post holder is an organised and motivated individual with excellent audio-typing and interpersonal skills, plus a sound knowledge of medical terminology. The successful candidate will be expected to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support across the departmentas required.
The successful post holder must be reliable and flexible to meet service needs and used to working in abusy and demanding environment, with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.They will be able towork on their own initiative,exercising judgement to solve any problems arising.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

We are looking for a passionate Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Health Visitor, Public Health Nurse or Social Worker to join our award-winning Hampshire & Isle of Wight Liaison & Diversion Service. This post is based on the Isle of Wight.
This is an opportunity to use your professional skills beyond traditional clinical settings and support people who are involved with the criminal justice system. You will work with individuals experiencing complex needs and vulnerabilities, including mental health difficulties, substance misuse, homelessness and social exclusion.
You will work across Newport Police Custody Suite and Newport Magistrates' Court and, as required, prison settings, providing specialist assessment, advice and care planning, identifying appropriate pathways into health and community services and helping people access the right support at the right time.
Ideally, you will live on the Isle of Wight. If you live off-island, you will need to consider ferry travel, including time, costs and potential weather-related disruption.
The working pattern for the post is 9am-5pm, including every other weekend. There may be occasional travel across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire for training, team meetings and induction. Some locations are not accessible by public transport.

Job summary
Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
A position has arisen for a full-time band 6 Emergency Liaison Practitioner (37.5 hours pw), to work with the S-CAMHS Emergency Liaison Team, based at White Valley Centre, St Cadoc's Hospital. The ELT team is part of the CAMHS Emergency Pathway, along with the Crisis Outreach Team, and the Intensive Support and Engagement Team (ISET).
Main duties of the job
The ELT aims to work intensively with families, young people and other agencies in order to provide person centred assessment at times of psychiatric emergency. The provision is currently 7 days per week. We work closely with young people and other agencies pre-crisis, and post crisis, using a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions, aiming towards preventing suicide and managing psychiatric risk. The post will require the successful applicant to deliver skilled and robust emergency assessments for young people and families. The post is open to qualified clinicians with significant post-registration CAMHS experience.
The post-holder will develop and deliver evidence based emergency assessments, and will be required to work closely with families, across a range of clinical settings. The post holder will be required to respond to calls from professionals who contact CAMHS via our consultation line, seeking advice. The post holder will also be required to offer evidence based follow up work with young people experiencing extreme psychological distress. The successful applicant will possess a range of evidence based therapeutic skills, and will be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a multi agency and multi-disciplinary way.
The successful applicant will be prepared to work out of hours, and on weekends, according to service needs.

The post holder will be the identified lead in the development of nursing practice in own specialist area, working at an advanced level across the healthcare teams, also as a core member of the metastatic breast cancer Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT). They will be the identified key worker for patients with metastatic breast cancer and their families on the IOW, and will co-ordinate island patients care throughout their cancer pathway, including the onward referral of key worker status. The day to day work of the Cancer Clinical Nurse specialist role is essential to deliver cancer waiting targets, manage the patients cancer pathway, support with critical clinical nursing interventions, liaise with PHT specialist MDT to facilitate safe effective care within IOW with external speciality consultants, prevent admissions or expediate admission for patients with oncological emergencies, arrange blood transfusions or vital medications and treatment plans, support during breaking bad news, and ensure MDT outcomes are actioned to avoid delay in-patient cancer pathways, support visiting oncologists, provide vital patient information and signposting, and provide psychological support to cancer patients. Main duties of the job
