Job summary
Dental Nurse - Maxillofacial Band 4 - Part-time (22.5 hours per week, Mon to Sat)
Are you an experienced and motivated Dental Nurse, with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering exemplary dental health care to your patients?
If so, the busy Paediatric Dentistry, Orthodontic and Oral & Maxillofacial outpatient department, at St Helier Hospital, are looking for a part time Dental Nurse able to work 22.5 hours per week.
We are hoping to recruit an enthusiastic, adaptable, self-motivated dental nurse with excellent personal, communication & clinical skills who works well in a team environment
- Applicants must hold professional General Dental Council registration and a recognised dental nurse qualification.
- An Inhalation Sedation Certificate would also be desirable but not essential as the training will supplied.
- Experience in a hospital setting would be advantageous but again, a full induction will be give

Main duties of the job
The duties of the role will include:
- Paediatric restorative Dentistry
- Inhalation sedation
- Orthodontics
- Paediatric General Anaesthetic lists
- Outpatient clinics- Adult & Paediatric
- Adult Oral/maxillofacial Surgery
The post holder will provide a high standard ofcare by:
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of patient care
- Working closely with the department/ward manager, and multi-disciplinary team members, in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the department/ward environment
- Carry out all relevant forms of care under supervision and when proficient, demonstrate procedures of care; supervise junior qualified and/or unqualified staff including student nurses, all whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

We are delighted to be looking to appoint a 0.6WTE Band 6 Specialist Dietitian to work at Newcastle Hospitals within renal services. Working within the regional renal unit and transplant centre for the north east of England.
This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your dietetic experience within a specialist area working within the already established multidisciplinary team. This includes both inpatient and outpatient work with the chance to be involved with service development and to gain experience in general nephrology, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, transplant surgery and critical care.
The renal dietetics team is part of Newcastle Nutrition, an enthusiastic and committed dietetic organisation, and benefits from excellent support from specialist colleagues within many disciplines. You should have already gained post-registration dietetic experience across a range of areas in an acute hospital setting. Experience of working with renal patients is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided

Main duties of the job
The renal dietitians enjoy a high profile within the renal directorate, with excellent MDT relationships and support. They work to provide a high quality service to renal patients and are actively involved in research and development at local and national level. To deliver this service, some occasional working outside of normal hours may be required. The department is part of Newcastle Nutrition, an enthusiastic and committed dietetic organisation, and benefits from excellent support.
The post holder will be required to
- Deliver a high quality dietetic service to patients within the renal service
- Take part in student training and supervision
- Contribute to research and audit
- Work effectively as part of the MDT
You should be enthusiastic and self-motivated and will:
- Have a broad knowledge of general dietetics
- Be able to demonstrate ongoing CPD and have evidence of developing practice.
- Be able to support colleagues and take responsibility for the clinical supervision of junior staff and students.
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be able to maintain good relationships with colleagues and the wider the MDT

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join the North East Mental Health and Deafness Service. The post will be based at Ashgrove, Saint Nicholas Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, with some option for home working and is a part time role working 15 hours per week.
The service is a regional specialised mental health service for deaf people from 18 years onwards. This is a tertiary mental health service for Deaf and Deafblind people 18 years and older, who have a range of mental health issues. Our target group are British Sign Language users, but we do support other deaf non-BSL users. The service works in partnership with local secondary care mental health teams, offering specialist assessment, treatment, and advice. The secondary care team retain care coordination/lead professional responsibility and we work in close partnership in order to deliver optimal care in a culturally appropriate manner.
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual, with specialist clinical experience. The post holder will be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have the skills and knowledge to develop the delivery of Speech and Language Therapy within this service whilst providing excellent, high-quality input.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with a small caseload to ensure that communication and emotional literacy needs have been thoroughly assessed and that clients have a comprehensive care plan to meet their individual needs. The aim of the interventions will be to support the client's independence in their ability to manage their mental health and to also support them/their secondary care team to communicate effectively so that they can deliver optimised care. This may involve therapeutic intervention to assist in skill and knowledge building regarding communicating their mental health needs or working with the secondary care team to adapt care plans.
The post holder will need to be confident in providing high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions and have an understanding and experience of working with people with a range of complex issues from a variety of settings and environments. Liaison with community teams, other organisations, families and carers will be a significant part of this role.
The post holder will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work independently. The post holder will support the continued professional development of the team and advise specifically around communication and emotional literacy.
Regular support and supervision will be available and professional supervision will be provided by a speech and language therapist.

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced HCPC registered Music Psychotherapist to work with a range of clients in our in-patient setting within Secure Services Forensic Units in North Bristol.
Fromeside is an 80 bedded unit which provides inpatient services to male and female service users from the South west region. Wickham unit is a 29 bedded Low secure service for male service users.
The post holder will be based in an established Arts Psychotherapies department which sits within the wider Psychological Therapies Service (PTS). The team is also part of a wider MDT team which includes Medical, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Education and Social Work. The clinical work spans both direct and non-direct working; you would need to be able to generate and accept referrals, complete focussed assessments and offer a range of group and individual treatment options. In the non-direct work you may offer in-patient staff group Reflective Practice and Clinical Supervision.
Both units are modern purpose built environments and are well resourced including designated therapy rooms.
There are seven arts psychotherapists working in the hospital site and three modalities of treatment are available offering the opportunity for joint working. The Arts Psychotherapists regularly take Masters Trainees from the 4 modalities and it is an established teaching and training site.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team and the Arts Psychotherapies Team. They will work autonomously to plan and implement individual and group sessions and be involved in assessment and ongoing treatment as part of the psychological therapies provision in the service.
The post holder will input into patients' care pathway through attendance at PCR (Patient Care Review) and CPA (Care Pathway approach) meetings. They will also undertake other multi-disciplinary work, including provision of staff support, reflective practice, supervision and training.
This post offers considerable creative opportunity and challenge for a resourceful and committed Music Psychotherapist to further develop the Arts Psychotherapies and the wider service. This is a permanent post.

We are recruiting to a permanent 8A Complex Care Manager. The complex care manager is a member of the Proactive Care - Mental Health Learning Disabilities and Autism team within the strategic commissioning directorate with responsibility for delivering all functions related to individually commissioned, jointly funded packages of care across NEL. This includes but is not limited to packages for children with special educational needs, adults with learning disabilities, neuro-diversity and mental health needs and other complex presentations, it does not include continuing healthcare. Many of these packages will be joint funded with the local authority.
The postholder will work closely as a team to build commissioning plans and pathways to enable a shift away from spot purchasing towards pathways of care which emphasise a move to living as independently as possible within the community, accessing universal provision where possible and reducing the risk of ongoing institutional care.The post holder(s) will report into the Head of Complex Care and the team will be supported by two co-ordinating roles.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will hold delegated responsibility for a defined complex care portfolio (inner or outer north east London, babies, children and young people (BYCP) or Adults), leading the commissioning, review and quality assurance of individual packages of care. Working within a system governance framework, the role will ensure that packages deliver high-quality, person centred outcomes, support de-escalation where appropriate, and represents value for money, while contributing to wider service and pathway development. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the ICB is appropriately contributing to the development of Dynamic Support Registers and any successor arrangements. The team will be required to keep abreast of changing legislation and statutory guidance and to ensure their work is informed by NICE guidelines and by best practice. The Lung Cancer Screening Programme commences in the Trust in October 2026. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clerical officer to undertake the role of Lung Cancer Screening Assistant Co-ordinator to support the Lead Co-ordinator to deliver programme and provide excellent care to the participants. The successful candidate will require compassionate communication skills and have experience with HDFT patient systems.
The purpose of this role is to support clinical teams to implement the lung cancer screening programme. This role has been specially designed to support the programme and will require the post holder to evolve to support the programme to refine over time.
It is expected that the post holder will assist the team leader and use their own initiative within the LCS team. The post holder is expected to be experienced within the hospital setting with knowledge and evidence of specialised terminology, educated to a level required to perform the role or equivalent experience. The post-holder will actively support and contribute to the requirements of the service and ensure compliance with performance targets and quality standards required at a local and national level.
Main duties of the job
- Communicate with relevant departments and organisations to ensure that the patient's pathway is as timely as possible and all delays are avoided.
- Communicate with key departments (diagnostics, clinic bookings etc.) to ensure all tests and investigations are booked promptly and any issues are escalated.
- Be a single point of contact for patients, carers and the healthcare team - triaging sensitive enquiries and referring to the appropriate department within the hospital. Using own judgement as to what requires immediate action.
- Communicate regularly with patients to ensure that they are aware of upcoming appointments, diagnostic tests/investigations and operations and offer practical support with the arrangements. Being sensitive to the fact that patients may be anxious and distressed.
- Provide support and contribute to training of new / junior members to the team.
- Document and monitor all aspects of patient care coordination and service delivery onto the Trust IT systems e.g. Cancer Access Database, Winscribe, WebV, ICE, ICS, CRIS,PPM database etc. to ensure the patient's progress can be measured.

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Acute Hospital Liaison Service, based at the Victoria Centre on the Great Western Hospital site. Following fresh investment into the medical workforce, we are recruiting Two consultant colleagues to join working with the Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) attached with the Great Western Hospital (GWH) in Swindon GWH is a 670 bedded District general hospital with a 24/7 emergency department.
The team provide rapid, prioritised and proportionate assessment of mental health needs for patients admitted to the GWH. The service accepts referrals for patients aged 18 and over from both the wards and the Emergency Department.
On an average the team receives about Thirty referrals on a weekly basis. These include about Twenty General Adult referrals and about ten referrals for older adult service users. The post holder is expected to attend a daily MDT meeting in the morning with the team members, triage these referrals and see as appropriate. Usually it averages to about Three to four Face to Face patient contacts on a daily basis.

Job summary
This undergraduate medical education Clinical Teaching Fellow in Pharmacology and similar posts in other specialties have been established to enhance the teaching of medical students in the Trust and City St George's Medical School. The majority of the post holder's time will be spent on undergraduate teaching activities. Some time may be used either for clinical work to develop the individual's career, or to complete a research project. The post holder will teach and co-ordinate students across clinical pharmacology and therapeutics to ensure that students are able to achieve their learning objectives. Clinical Teaching Fellows are connected through the CTF network to enhance the coordination of undergraduate clinical teaching of medical students.
Main duties of the job
- The successful candidate will play an important role in the development and delivery of clinical pharmacology, therapeutics and prescribing teaching to medical students on the City St George's University MBBS programmes. Teaching will include small and large group lectures and workshops and development of self-directed learning materials and where relevant involvement in the Hospital Medicine Grand Rounds.
- Administrative tasks will include timetabling, updating student online resources/webpages and working closely with Consultant lead for MBBS Clinical Pharmacology and other members of the clinical pharmacology clinical and academic team.
- There are two MBBS programmes, a 5-year course in which students are predominantly school-leavers, and a 4-year 'fast track' course for graduate students. Students are admitted through a competitive selection process. The two courses merge for the clinical years.
- The post holder may be expected where relevant to participate in Student Grand Rounds and to liaise with similar post holders in identifying deficiencies and opportunities for clinical teaching across the Trust.

Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapist, or Arts Psychotherapist to join our established Complex Psychological Interventions Service in Bristol. This role includes working two days per week with the Central Bristol Crisis Team, supporting people experiencing acute mental health crises through rapid assessment, intervention, and treatment in their homes or community settings.
The Bristol Crisis Service operates across North, South, and Central Bristol. This post offers an excellent opportunity to work psychologically with individuals in acute distress, using brief intervention approaches, assessment, formulation, risk management, and crisis-focused treatment.
In addition to direct clinical work, the role involves providing consultation, facilitating clinical supervision and reflective practice, and helping develop a psychologically informed service. The successful applicant will also support senior practitioners in training and developing the wider staff team.Right to Work in the UK: This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Main duties of the job
Working psychologically with people experiencing acute mental health crises. Offering brief models of intervention, assessment and formulation of people in high levels of distress. Provide consultation in case discussions, offer clinical supervision groups and facilitate reflective practice sessions. Working to enhance the team's understanding of the dynamics created within crises and ensure the development of a psychologically informed service. Supporting and working the senior practitioner with training and developing the staff group as a whole. Bringing empathy knowledge and skill working with the team and this client group.

Freshney Pelham Care are a community nursing team within North East Lincolnshire providing nursing care and support to patients, families and carers with the aim of supporting patients to remain in their own homes, preventing hospital admission, and managing end of life care.

Main duties of the job

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Scientist to join the Clinical Biochemistry team in the Department of Blood Sciences, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals. The department is located across two sites at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in the city centre and the Freeman Hospital to the North East of the city.
The Trust is one of the largest providers of specialist clinical services in the country. It is supported by a UKAS-accredited Blood Sciences Department with a wide range of specialist sections including Special Chemistry which provides a range of assays using LC-MS/MS, HPLC and ICP-MS, SAS Endocrinology, Metabolic and Newborn Screening, Maternal Serum Screening, Flow Cytometry, Proteins and Immunology and Special Haematology as well as Core Biochemistry, Core Haematology and Blood Transfusion on both sites. Many services are provided to the other trusts within the region as well as to centres throughout the UK and overseas. In addition, support is provided for research and development including collaboration with local clinicians and universities.
The successful candidate will be based primarily at the Freeman Hospital, although cross-site working will be required. They will provide support for Core Biochemistry and develop experience in Specialist Endocrinology and Special Chemistry and participate in the duty biochemist rota.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide support for Core Biochemistry, including method validation and verification, troubleshooting, QA support and clinical liaison.
The post-holder will work with the Special Chemistry and SAS Endocrine teams, helping with service development, authorising reports and liaising with service users.
The post-holder will be part of the departmental Duty Biochemist team, working with a team of seven other clinical scientists and three consultant chemical pathologists as well as a number of scientists and clinicians in training. This includes participation in the Duty Biochemist rota, authorising results generated throughout the biochemistry department and liaising with clinical services.
They will contribute to leadership, quality management, governance, service development and staff training within the department.
Training for the specialist aspects of the role will be provided as required with support for career progression including for further FRCPath examinations.
Appointment to this post will require completion of FRCPath part 1. Candidates who are working towards this examination are welcome to apply as they may be considered for appointment to Band 7, with automatic progression to Band 8a within 12 - 18 months upon completion of FRCPath part 1.

The Respiratory Directorate provides specialist services from our hospital sites and community settings for the people in the North East sector of Greater Manchester. It is a well-developed service with an excellent reputation led by a dynamic team.
Candidates should be on the Specialist Register for Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine (GIM) or hold the certificate of completion of specialist training or expect to do so within six months of the interview for the appointment. This post is a 12-month fixed term WTE (10PA).
Main duties of the job
Main responsibilities will be contributing to the Respiratory ward consultant rota with a roughly 1:3 consultant of the week model and providing regular outpatient respiratory clinics/ services. On non-ward weeks the post holder will be expected to deliver outpatient activity, likely one general respiratory clinic a week and a further clinic(s) depending on the applicant's particular subspecialty interest (there is a particular opportunity to develop an on-site asthma clinic alongside the existing clinics/ severe asthma service available at other sites within the trust).
Triage, virtual and outpatient review of general respiratory referrals will be included in all job plans. Developing an acute respiratory "hot clinic" to allow patients presenting to A&E/ SDEC to be discharged with early respiratory input on discharge or to see urgent referrals from primary care will be encouraged.
